Fluttershy's Family
The only chapter
Load Full StoryWhen Fluttershy was really, really young, she had a beautiful, charming mother. She was always kind, and taught Fluttershy to be always kind to other ponies if she wants them to be kind to her. Sadly, even if Fluttershy liked her dad, her parents were divorced, so she lived with her lovely mother. Sometimes, after school, she visited her father and they had a lot of fun. Dad did have a bit of trouble in work, so he couldn't even take care of Fluttershy if she did live there anyway. They both usually baked small cupcakes and cookies, and Fluttershy loved to draw. She mainly drew her parents so she could show them how much she loved them both. Her father loved to race, and he was one of the fastest when it came to flying. Fluttershy wanted to be just as fast as her father when she got older, but sadly, that just couldn't happen. Fluttershy was super shy and just didn’t have strong wings like her dad.
Usually when Fluttershy came home from visiting her dad, her mother was already home from work. They usually ate dinner and went out for a nice walk.
One day, something very tragic happened, Fluttershy's mother passed away. It was a horrid day for Fluttershy, her mother died from cancer. Fluttershy cried everyday in her bed for the next week, wishing that it would have never happened. She had one wish, for her mother to come back. Her desire to see her mother again made Fluttershy see her in her dreams, were she hugged her and sang her songs. They were always nice, sweet little songs about the adventures they would have had if she would still been alive to this day. Fluttershy remembered how her mother sang her lullabies before bed and always told her that there were no monsters under her bed or in her closet, that those were just stories that weren't true. She always kissed Fluttershy on the forehead before leaving Fluttershy's room at night. Fluttershy smiled whenever she remember her amazing mother, but felt horrible whenever she woke up from her dreams.
After her mother's death, Fluttershy had to move to her father's house. When Fluttershy walked into his house, she carried her small suitcase to her new room, still feeling sad about her mother. Her father's house had three rooms and he only used one for himself and gave his daughter her own little room. Fluttershy thought her room wasn't that bad, it had a small white bed and a closet next to it, where Fluttershy could put her stuff. When she sat on her bed, it was quite comfortable and the pillow was really soft too.
Fluttershy had brought very few things from her home, a scarf, a few of her toys, and a frame in her suitcase. After putting all of her stuff in her small little closet, she noticed that the frame didn't have a picture. Fluttershy placed a small picture of her mother and father, with her in between, into the frame.
After a bit of time passed Fluttershy's dad had finally gotten a better job. Sadly, his work hours were longer than his old job and most of the time Fluttershy had to be alone with her step-mother, named Susan. Fluttershy played with her toys most of the time, she had a small plush teddy bear she hugged and loved the most of all her toys. Fluttershy had some puzzles and board games, but she had to play with them all by herself. Susan was her father’s new marefriend. She had darkish pink mane, light pink eyeshadow, her fur was yellow (almost like Fluttershy's father), and she had green eyes.
She wasn't the most kindest of ponies, she was actually very selfish. Fluttershy had no idea why her dad was with this pony, what was so special about her? The only good thing Fluttershy thought about when she thought of Susan, was that she was often hard working. She really did try to work and earn bits herself, but her personality was not so good and she was often rude.
After hours of living with a strange new mother of her's, Fluttershy's father was finally home from work. Fluttershy was full of joy when he returned, and he smiled whenever the filly ran to him. Sadly, he was exhausted and tired. He was so caught up with his work, and his new marefriend, he didn't have much time to his own daughter. He usually got his marefriend Susan, a lot of gifts, and took her to many places. He didn’t do the same for Fluttershy though.
Fluttershy didn't like her flight school too much, she wasn't really that good with flying, and she got often bullied for her weakness. That is what truly made her even more shy than usual. One pony did support her though, Rainbow Dash. She had always helped her and tried to make her a better flyer. She didn’t get too much better, but a little bit.
At least when Fluttershy was at flight school, she wasn't lonely. She had Rainbow Dash by her side. When she was back home though, Flutteshy was once again alone.
One day, she took her crayons, some paper, and went to the living room, where Susan was.
"Hey, um- Susan?" Fluttershy asked. "Would you like to, draw with m-me?"
"Uh, I have already told you millions of times, kid!" Susan shouted. "I don't have time to draw, with a stupid little baby like
you!"
Fluttershy started to cry and ran back to her room, where she sat down next to a small table she had in her room and drew by herself. She drew her friend, Rainbow Dash, with her mom and dad and herself. Those were the most important ponies in Fluttershy's life, the only ponies who cared about her and loved her for who she was. Fluttershy cried and cried in her room all by herself, forgotten, lonely, and weak. Her father hasn't spent any time with her at all, nobody had, not even Rainbow Dash. She wiped the tears in her eyes and tried to smile, but just couldn't.
One morning, there was a race in Cloudsdale, where Fluttershy's only friend at flight school, Rainbow Dash, was. When all the ponies started to race, Fluttershy accidentally fell and nopony even noticed. Maybe they thought she could have just flied since she is a pegasus. Thank Celestia, that butterflies caught young Fluttershy and helped her when she was falling. Thanks to Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom, Fluttershy got her cutie mark from having a special connection with animals.
When Fluttershy was back in Ponyville, she noticed a small house. The house was near where she almost fell to her doom. Susan noticed Fluttershy and quickly flew down.
"Uh, there you are!" Said Susan, looking very annoyed. "You're father asked me to get you, so let's go."
"But, wait, I-.."
"No buts, Fluttershy."
Susan and Fluttershy both flew back up to Cloudsdale. When they got home, Fluttershy ran to her father, who was in the kitchen.
"Dad! Dad! Look my cutie mark!" exclaimed Fluttershy.
"That's amazing!" replied Fluttershy's father in surprise.
Fluttershy explained to her father how she got her cutie mark, by almost falling to her death, only to be saved by butterflies and that an explosion scared the animals; letting her find out she could communicate with them when she tried to calm them down. She also told him about a nice little house she found near a place called Ponyville. When all of them went to see it, Fluttershy's father really liked it, and so they decided to move there. They cleaned up the place and moved all of their stuff to their new home.
Many years passed, and Fluttershy had already grown up. She was a big mare now, so she started to live by herself. Her father and Susan took all of their stuff, and moved back to their old house, saying goodbye to Fluttershy. Fluttershy now lives in that little house, right near the town of Ponyville, happy with all her friends she has made over the years.
