The Spark

Jason and Rainbow dash were walking around the city, the sun was starting to set so the temperature was becoming very nice. It was not too cool, it wasn't to warm either, It was perfect.

"So how did you find out about your muscle condition?" Rainbow asked.

"Well, I was seven when my dad owned a Harley. One day he was working on it and the kickstand slipped, the bike had him pinned and my mother couldn't get it off. My mom ran into the living room to call an ambulance. While she was gone I put my arms under the bike and lifted it, it only came up as far as my chest but it was still incredible. My mom actually walked in to see me holding this big bike. I found out when the ambulance got there, I had lifted seven hundred pounds of bike." Jason said with a smile.

"Well how much can you lift now?"

"Roughly one thousand pounds."

"Wow! Really!"

"Yep, I can lift a car engine." Two sketchy looking guys walked out of an ally twenty feet away. "Rainbow, don't panic, but take my hand and keep very quiet. Don't answer anything they ask." Jason said in a whisper. Rainbow nodded and took Jason's hand.

"Hey there sweat cheeks, how's it goin?" One of the men said. The man became angry when they didn't respond. "Hello! I'm talkin to you! You deaf or something!?" They didn't respond, they just ignored them. "Oh well, I guess you'll get to meet my friends. Oh boys!" Six other men showed themselves. they came in groups of two from every side.

"Shit." Jason said quietly. "Rainbow it looks like we're fighting to get out of here, and I mean we not me. We need to work together on this. when I say go, we stand back to back alright?" Jason whispered.

"Alright." Rainbow said.

"Ready? Go!" Jason and Rainbow dash stood back to back. The first man took a swing on Jason's side. He was an easy take down, Jason grabbed his fist and high kicked him in the jaw. He fell onto his back and crawled away from Jason. The second person to swing came from Rainbows side. He threw a punch and Rainbow caught it, before the man could throw another punch Rainbow dash kicked him in the stomach. The man stumbled away half knelt over and holding his gut. The next guy threw multiple punches at Jason, jason blocked each one. Before long Jason had gotten sick of blocking and decided to catch his fist. Jason squeezed harder and harder, jason felt the mans hand pop and crack as he applied more pressure. The man fell to his knees, screaming in pain. Jason let go and decked him, a tooth came flying out of the mans mouth and he fell onto his side. The man got up and ran, stumbling occasionally as he went.

Number four tried to kick Jason. It didn't work, jason caught his foot. Jason made the man do a front flip, in the middle of the second flip the mans face was met by Jason's right foot. The man fell to the ground and slowly crawled away. Another man took a swing at Rainbow dash. She deflected the punch upward and gave the man an uppercut. He stumbled back and started running. Two men decided to flank them. The rushed at Rainbow and Jason from their left and right sides. Jason did a split in mid air and kicked the two men square in the chest. That's six and seven down, but number eight had a knife and stabbed Rainbow dash in the stomach. Jason turned around to see the man pull the knife from her stomach. Rainbow fell to the ground and the man stood back and laughed.

"Whoops." He said with a laugh. Jason starred at Rainbow, he could feel something boiling inside of him. The man went to stab Jason but Jason grabbed him by the wrist and twisted the knife from his hand, all while he was still looking at Rainbow dash. He slowly turned to look the man in the eyes, Jason looked extremely piss.

"You son of a bitch!" Jason screamed as he hit the man in the gut with his knee. Jason didn't stop, he proceeded to punch the man in the face twice before delivering a spinning kick to his face. The man started frantically crawling away on his back. "If I ever see you again! i will slowly push that knife into your forehead! Got it!" Jason said while pointing to the mans knife on the ground. The man quickly nodded, got up and ran.

Jason knelt down by Rainbow, she was loosing consciousness. "Rainbow? Rainbow stay with me, shit, I need to get you to the hospital." Jason scooped Rainbow dash up into his arms. "I guess this is where going for a run everyday pays off." Jason said. He began sprinting towards the hospital which was five city blocks away. When he got to block number four he looked at rainbow for a second, her eyes were barely open and the front of her shirt was soaked with blood. "Stay with me Rainbow! We're almost there!" Jason said. Three blocks to go, Jason was running faster and longer then he ever had before. He didn't even stop running for traffic, he just dodged the cars. One block to go, Rainbow had just lost consciousness. "Shit! Rainbow! Hold a bit longer!" Jason shouted. He spotted the sign out front of the hospital, it says emergency on it. Jason full on sprinted into the building and only slowed to a stop when he saw a doctor. "Help! She's been stabbed!" Jason yelled.

The doctor looked at Jason, he noticed both her shirt and his were covered in blood. The doctor got a gurney and quickly wheeled it over, Jason quickly put her down on the cart.

"Wait here, I'll come get you and tell you how she's doing." The doctor said. Jason nodded and sat down in a chair in the waiting area. Jason began nervously tapping his feet. Jason remembered he had a back pack on, it had a change of clothes in it. Jason pulled a fresh shirt and removed his blood stained one. As Jason stuffed the shirt into his bag he heard clanking coming from one of the pockets. He unzipped the pocket and found some tools, two circuit boards, two watches, some scrap metal, some springs, some screws, two small pulleys and some steel cable. He pulled an empty table up and dumped the material out.

Within minutes Jason had gutted the watches and placed the circuits inside them, he was tightening some screws when five girls walked through the front door.

"Where's Rainbow dash?!" The flaming haired girl asked the front desk.

"She's currently in the ER, she was stabbed." Jason said from his seat.

"By who? And who are you?" The flaming haired girl asked.

"I'm Jason Carloan, I'm her friend. We were walking around down town when we were jumped by eight guys, we took the seven down but the last guy had a knife and stabbed her."

"And how do we know you didn't just stab her yourself, huh?" Said the flaming haired girl. Jason stood up.

"BECAUSE I RAN FIVE CITY BLOCKS WITH HER BLEEDING IN MY RMS TO SAVE HER! SO DONT YOU DARE TRY TO PUT HIS ON ME!" Jason yelled. It went silent for a few moments, Jason sat back down.

"How long have you and Rainbow been friends?" The girl asked.

"About a month, and I saved her from someone a month ago too. A guy tried to choke her out and I stopped him." Jason said, his gaze never left the floor.

"Alright. I trust you." The flaming haired girl said.

"What, why do you trust him?" A girl with a Stetson asked.

"Because I don't think anyone would yell that loud and make a fool of themself just to get out of being arrested." The flaming haired girl said. "I'm sorry for accusing you, my name is Sunset Shimmer." She said.

"I said mine already but I'll say it again I case you don't remember, I'm Jason Carloan."

"Nice to meet you mister Carloan." Sunset said.

"Please, mister Carloan is my Father, just call me Jason." He said as he went back to working on his devices.

"What are you making?" She asked as she sat down next to him.

"You'll see." Jason said. Jason used the gears and motors from the watches to drive the pullies. He wrapped the steel cable around the individual pullies on each device. Once he tightened down the final piece of metal he was done. "Perfect, their done." Jason said aloud.

"What are they?" Sunset asked.

"We'll let me show you." Jason said. He pointed his arm in the direction of a clay flower pot across the room. A pop was hear and the flower pot shattered. Coming from the decide was a cable that led to the flower pot, Jason pulled the cable back to him and held the protective on the end. It was a narrow rod with four barbs that popped in and out. "It's a grappling hook, the device sucks in air through these tiny vents, It pressurizes the air and uses the air to shoot the projectile. The projectile is a thin rod so it will easily cut through rock or metal. then these barbs push out so they grip either the tunnel they've made if it's something thick it enters, or they grip around the hole on the other side of the wall." Jason said.

"How strong are the pulleys?" Sunset asked.

"They should be strong enough to pull a car." Jason said.

"Well how do they fire? Is there a button you push or something?"

"Nope, they have receivers in them. I had a chip implanted in my spinal cord when I was twelve, I figured I would be able to make something that could use the signals it puts out. But I was saving it for something really creative."

"Man, are you like a genius or something?" Sunset asked.

"No, I'm not like a genius, I am a genius." Jason said with a sarcastic smirk.

"Oh ha ha mister brainiac." Sunset said.

"But in all seriousness I will be taking a test in the middle of the school year that will determine whether or not I will graduate early. If I pass it I will be graduating high school at the end of this school year."

"What grade are you in?"

"I'm a freshmen."

"Really, your kinda tall for a freshmen aren't you?"

"I get my height from my father." Jason said. The doctor walked out and stood in front of Jason.

"Rainbow dash is going to be fine, she's awake right now and she was asking for you Mr. Carloan. If you'll follow me I'll take you to her." Jason nodded and stood up from his chair, the five girls did the same. "I'm sorry, only one miss Dash requested to see is him, if she asks for you I'll come and get you." The doctor said. The girls nodded and sat down. Jason followed the doctor through the double doors and down the hallway. They made a left turn and then a right turn and the doctor stopped in front of a door. "She's right in there." He said.

"Thank you." Jason said. Jason opened the door and walked in.

"Hey Jason." Rainbow said quietly, she had a small smile on her face. Jason pulled up a chair and sat on it backwards.

"Hey Rainbow, the others are here as well. Listen, I'm so sorry this happened to you." Jason said.

"It's not your fault Jason. Hey doc! Can you get my other friends and bring them here, they were sitting with him." Rainbow said.

"Absolutely." The doctor said.

"Yes it is my fault Rainbow, I was the one who decided we should walk around the city when it starts getting dark, and it's my fa-" Jason was cut of by Rainbows lips connecting with his own. Jason was taken off guard by this, his eyes shot wide open. She stopped kissing him.

"It wasn't your fault, it was those guys that jumped us. Now stop blaming yourself." She said, she kissed him again. Jason's eyes were still wide from the first one.

"Well I'll be, Rainbow found herself somebody that's not a total jerk." Said the girl wearing the Stetson.

"Applejack! How long have you all been standing there!?" Rainbow said nervously.

"We've been here since he was blaming himself." Sunset said. They all noticed that Jason hadn't moved or blinked since she stopped kissing him. "I think you broke your boy friend there."

"He's not my! Well... I guess you could call him that as of two minutes ago." Rainbow said, Jason fell backwards out of his seat.

"Oh great, I think you made him faint. Clean up on aisle 2, someone has broken Rainbow dashes boy friend." She said.

"Hey, leave him alone Sunset." Rainbow said.

"It's not like he can hear me." Sunset said, Jason suddenly shot upright on the floor.

"Wait I'm your what now? And clean up on aisle 2 someone has broken Rainbow dashes what now?" Jason said.

"I stand corrected." Sunset said.

"Yes Jason, I called you my boyfriend. What? Haven't you had a girlfriend before?" Rainbow asked.

"No I have never had a Girlfriend, and won't you risk going to prison for dating a minor? You are turning eighteen in two weeks." Jason said.

"No, there are Romeo and Juliet laws. So long as we were dating as minors I can't be charged." Rainbow said.

"Why do you know that?" Sunset asked.

"I was planning on asking him out for a couple of days now, so I looked up the laws for this kind of thing." Rainbow said. "So what do you say Jason, Will you be my boyfriend?" Jason got up off the floor, sat back down in the chair, and cleared his throat.

"Yes." He said. Rainbow hugged him and Jason hugged her back.

"Thank you Jason." Rainbow said.

"Your Welcome." Jason said.
