Fallen Hero

1st POV:

Finally Fluttershy and I made it to the train station, destined for the capital. It was only like a fifteen minute walk, so it wasn't to terrible. Plus we weren't the last ones there either. Before we left, I did decide to leave Zeus at Fluttershy's house. He was getting along with the other animals and taking him with us would be a lot. Now as we wait, all I can do is think about what I could've dreamed about that Luna wants to talk to me now. Where here comes the last pony of the five. It's a white mare, I believe this one is Rarity. Apparently she is the fashionista of this town. I think I'll need to talk to her soon. You know, only two pairs of military clothes can get you so far.

Now that everyone was here, we boarded the last car of the train. Since this was on official business for the princesses, we got a car for all of us, for free. We all filed in and I ended up sitting next to Fluttershy. Rainbow Dash sat with Applejack. Finally Twilight sat with Rarity. Twilight sat on the other side of the isle of me. Then Rainbow Dash sat behind me. Spike sat in front of us. "So Twilight, what is Spike? Is he some sort of lizard?"

"Well in a way I guess, he is part lizard. Technically though, Spike is a young dragon. I've raised him since I hatched him in class, when I use to live in Canterlot." The story behind the fact that a pony hatched a dragon has to be something. I must ask her about it sometime.

"That is very cool. So are all dragons sapient beings?"

"No not all. Like Spike, he wasn't suppose to be but I used my magic on his egg so he would developed into one. Now he can act and talk like any sapient being."

"So if one was to say find a dragon or a dragon egg. Could one, you know, keep the dragon or dragon egg?"

"Umm I don't see why not, if you could make it not be violent. For safety though on the legality of owning a dragon. I would ask Princes Celestia. For instance Spike is not my pet he is my assistant. That is because he is a sentient being. Why are you asking? Have you found one?" I nodded. Well I do think it would be pretty sweet to own a dragon.

"No, I was just wondering." I turned to Fluttershy to ask her opinion. "Hey Fluttershy, um how do you feel about dragons?"

I thought she was going to faint in front of me. She started hyperventilating and having a panic attack."Dra… Dra… Dragons! Where are the dragons? Eeeeeeek! Run!"

"Fluttershy, please calm down. I was just asking you what you thought of them, not that there is a dragon. Guessing from your response, I take it that you don't like them. If that is so, how do you handle Spike, he's a dragon?"

"Oh. Sorry for freaking out." She returned to her shy self for a second. "It's just I don't like dragons. Spike is different though because he is a baby dragon. He can't fly, set me on fire or eat me."

"That makes sense, I mean something that can eat me would be scary."

Well the rest of the train ride went very well. There was no events that happened as we got there. All we did was talk about things. Like the animals Earth has, some of the technology that Earth has, some of the fashion, and how some the farms worked. In total the train ride took like 3 hours so it wasn't to unbearable. The flights we made going to and from the Middle East took longer than this. Well as soon as we arrived in Canterlot, Twilight started to flip shit. "Oh my god we are here! It's time to meet the princesses. Leo this will be you first visit *sqwee*. Well the first visit that will be longer than like five minutes. Follow me every pony."

After she finished I turned to the rainbow maned pony, "Is she always like this when it comes to the princesses?"

She just laughed and nodded her head. "Oh you haven't even seen or know the half of it." Oh fuck me. We walked for about another fifteen minutes before we got to what looked like throne room. On the walls there appeared to be merles to past events. One looked to be defeating a dragon looking think that had parts of different animals. Another had a Luna look a like getting defeated. In all of them these except a few six ponies, that I live with, are in them. When they are it looks like there is light being shot out of them. Very, very interesting.

Right after I finished looking at the last one, Princess Celestia walked in. With her entrance I immediately stood at attention, as I would to any higher up. "Well hello my subjects, hello my student and hello Leo. When Luna get's here we shall begin. Leo I'm gonna need to talk to these six, so Luna and you can talk while she shows you around the castle. Ok?" I nodded. "Very good and look, here she comes. Hello sister, would you mind taking Leo here and showing him around the castle?"

"I wouldn't mind at all sister." This was the first time to my knowledge that I've seen this princess. She looked amazing. Her black fur sat amazing and her mane looked like that night sky. The only strange thing is that her mane and tail fluttered in a wind that was non-existent. I mean her sisters did to but I digress to something more important. Why am I finding her attractive? I even thought Fluttershy looked cute for a seconded when we apologized on the train. It has to be that I saw a human women that looked like her in some strange way

"So princess, what do you want to talk about?" I asked even though I know exactly what she wants to talk about. It's going to be about my dream last night. Why did she have to into my head? Ughhhhh why?

"You can call me Luna, Leo and relax. Well… it's about your dream or nightmare last night." Bingo. "It was, well, very dark and violent to put it lightly. I tried to make it better but there was nothing I could do to make it happy. From what I understood, it looked like war. The weapons that you were using looked like they caused horrific damage. There was a point where I witnessed someones are get cut off from a metal flying out of an explosion. I also just straight up saw someone get part of his body blown off." I just stood there in shock because now I know there is going to be a lot of explanation going to be needed. Fuck. I also was standing there because I was reliving that horrific day, with very great imagery of every event because of her. "Basically how violent was your race?" I didn't respond as I sat down trying to calm down. Leaning against the wall as I slid down it to the floor. "Are you alright?"

I just sighed. "Yeah just give me a minute. That day is very traumatic and you just made me relive it." After another few minutes I began to talk. "Before I explain, is there a place we can sit, so I'm not on the floor? This may or may not be a long conversation."

"Yes there is, just follow me."

3rd Person:

Back With the Main 6:

Princess Celestia decided it was time to talk. "Hello my subjects, I brought you here not because of something bad but it is in regard to our new friend Leo. Most of you do not know but last night Luna went into Leo's dream. In his dream literally all of tartarus was go off. Fluttershy you were there last night. Could you explain what it was like outside of the dream before I explain more of what was happening."

"Yes Princes. Ok last night I was awoken to Leo screaming, yelling, shaking and profusely sweating. His whole bed was drenched in sweat. Then his screams were almost those of blood curling. Before I saw him like that, I began to panic in thinking that something was attacking him because of his screaming. I went to his room as fast as I could, when I got there all I finally saw him shacking which was borderline thrashing in his bed and the sweat. I felt his forehead and he was burning up. I went strait to the kitchen and got a bowl of water and a towel to try to cool him off. As I did that, I was trying to wake him up but he wouldn't. He was constantly yelling what I would believe are military terms. That's all I have and I did all I could to help."

"We all know you did Fluttershy, you never do anything less. Ok now for what happened in his dream. From what I understood from Luna, the dream was actually an old memory. That's why when she put everything into it to make the outcome better it wouldn't change. It started out fine, just a normal military mission for him… then all of sudden things start going bad and these metal projectiles start flying all over the place, explosions were going off. From what I understood, the mission was suppose to be no problem. No one should have known they were there. I mean for the first half hour they didn't but after that things went bad fast. People were getting killed left and right. I'm not sure if you saw from a scar on his chest but Leo was shot in this mission. He took one of those metal things straight to the chest to save a fellow soldier. This soldier he saved happened to be the one that is in a coma back in Ponyville. If the metal thing hit two millimeters to the left it would have hit his heart and he would have been dead. He lost a lot of good men that fight. Only John and him made it out of there alive. John was shot in his left calf and right shoulder. At one point in this mission someone called in something called a 'missile'. This thing came in out of no where from the sky and when it hit, there was just a huge explosion that had destroyed a couple buildings." Celeste paused because she knew that this was a lot to take in. So she gave the six time to absorb this before she continued.

Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie were in tears from hearing how selfless he was and that he almost died. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were sniffling and trying to hold the tears back with their jaws was almost hitting the floor. Twilight just stood there dumb founded that Leo's race could be so violent and there is him who would be violent but also selfless to give his life to save a friend.

1st Person:

Leo's POV:

"That Luna, is what happened that mission. Which is actually a good example of how violent we humans can be. The only thing it really didn't show is a nuke. That is a bomb that can destroy a city at minimum and also leave the area it explode non-habital for many years after." I had just finished explaining that importance of this mission. It was so hard to talk about that mission again. So many good men gave their life for our country. When I finished I was looking at the ground so when I looked up, I saw Luna's face for the first time. It looked like one of horror and of pure sadness. Tears were beginning to run down her face. She walked over and gave me a hug but stayed a lot longer than I would stay for a normal hug. "Luna it's in the past don't worry about it. Now just stay out of my head when I sleep. If you stay out, then you wont have to deal with pain I went through to get to where I am today. Only I will have to suffer and that is what I will have. Let me keep my nightmares to myself."

"I… I… I can't do that Leo. You gave so much for you country. I can't ask you to suffer from this, I will do all I can to stop this from happening to you. If going in your head and having to go through the nightmare with you every night is what it takes to help you get better, than so be it. We will make these nightmares go away."

"No! You can't do this. I can't let you do this. Enough people have suffered and died because of me. I will not let another person, I mean pony, suffer because of me. Look at John, he wasn't suppose to go on this mission. He only went because I made him and said, 'I wouldn't go on this mission with out my friend.' Now look at him? He's in a fucking coma. You ponies seem very innocent. Now I'm not saying you having seen war and everything. Just compared to what I have seen since I have gotten here, you haven't seen a damn thing. If you go in my head you will most likely have to go through the dream as if you are there in person and will probably be traumatized. I don't want that to happen to you."

"Leo I'm your friend and I'm willing to go through anything to make sure you get better." So now I'm friends with a princess. Hmmm, ok than.

"Why? Why do this? You don't know me. You don't owe me anything." That came out a lot more colder than it meant to. I was just beyond shock that this pony, a princess, would do this to an 'alien.'

"You wanna know why? I'm doing this because I care for you Leo. Even for how tough you are from being a soldier, you seem like a generally nice guy. Even though you may not be from this world, you are staying here in my country. I hate to see anyone who is in my country suffer."

"Fine I will accept that and be ok with you going in my head and trying to help. One rule, if I declare the dream to be to much. You leave my head at that moment and no questions asked. Understand?" She nods and I knew one dream she would never be allowed to see. "Good. You know Princess, you seem like a very nice person too. I mean pony. You seem like a nice pony too. God these terms are going to mess with me." We just laughed.

"Thanks." While we continued to talk, Luna had to go out for a second and left me in the room we were in. While she was gone, I look outside and saw that we had been talking so long that it had became night. When she came back she noticed me looking out the window of the room. "How do you like the night sky?"

"I love it. Yes I love the sun because I do get tan and it can be warm. Plus there are somethings that are nice to do in the day. Overall though, I prefer the night to the day. Everything I love to do is nicer to do at night. Whether that is playing soccer, watching soccer, snowboarding, driving, flying, anything."

"That is awesome! Not many ponies tell me such nice things about my night."

"Your night?" When I asked that, she looked like she slipped about something. It didn't cause a pause in the conversation.

"Yes my night. My sister raises and lowers the sun. I raise and lower the moon." Pause. Did she just say that she lowers and raises the moon and her sister does the same? What the actual hell? She said like it was no big deal. "Now did you say you can fly?"

"Well no but humans have machines that allow us to fly anywhere but yes I guess we can." I go on to give a quick and very basic overview of how planes work. To say she looked confused is an understatement. "Now we also have these suits that allows to glide down and having things called parachutes to helps us land safely, if we choose to jump from a high hight."

"Do you have this suit and parachute thing with you?"

"Yes I do. Would you like to see it?"

"If you wouldn't mind." I nodded and pulled out the thought, laying it on the table in between us. Then I held the bag my parachute is in. Then I took the chute out and unfolded it carefully to make sure not tangle the lines, placing it on the floor. Afterwards I told how each thing worked. How the chute catches air and what not. How the suite directs air around it keeping us from falling and allowing us to turn and do things in the air. She looked amazed at how humans got around the not being able to fly, physically. "Umm would you like to fly and see it work?"

"Really? You would want to do that?"

"Yes. I would like to see how this suit of your and parachute works when actually being used. After you get dressed I shall teleport us to the highest point."

"Sounds good. Let me get dressed and then we will tell the others. Now how will we get back though?"

"Ok be quick. Then for getting us back, I can teleport us." I nodded as she left the room to allow me to get changed. Quickly I was done and met her in the hallway. With that there was a flash and we were in front of the others. They seemed sad, I guess Celestia told them about my dream. She had no right to tell people, dammit I fucking mean pony, about dream and my life. The first to do anything was Fluttershy. She flew gently and slowly over to me and wrapped her front hooves around my neck in what I assume was a hug. When she did this I got to really see how small they are. Fluttershy only came down to my waist. Her legs ended around my knee.

"Leo I'm so sorry you had to go through that. No pony should ever have to go through that." I felt so bad for how bad Fluttershy was feeling. I'm just glad that she thinks this is the worse that I have had.

"I know Fluttershy." I wrapped my arms around her and started to run my hand through her mane subcontiously.

Then Rainbow Dash was the first to mention the thing I'm wearing. "Leo what is that thing you got on?"

"It allows me to fly from a high place. Well the better term instead of flying would be glide. So that is what me and Luna are about to do." They seemed a little shocked at that and the fat that I'm on a first name basses with Princess Luna.

"Can I join you guys? I am the best flyer in all of Equestria." Rainbow Dash threw the her little cocky voice in the emphasize that she is good.

"Finnnnnnnne! Luna beam me up Scotty." They all looked confused. "Uhh it's an Earth thing. Can you just teleport us to the highest part so we can fly now." She nodded and then after a quick flash we were on top of the roof of the highest building. I looked off the distance and I could see Ponyville. "Let me check my equipment to make sure that I'm good to go. Ok. Ok. Ok. Time to fly." I turned to face them and put my helmet and face mask and goggles on. I gave them a thumbs up and saluted. Once that was done, I brought my arms in, closed my eyes, took a breath and fell backwards off the roof.

As I fell I heard gasps, I guess I may have forgot to mention how I was going to launch. After I fell a good 30 feet of so I opened my eyes and saw all the ponies leaning over the roof to see me. "Oh my god princess save him!" I heard Twilight yell. All of them had a look of horror and Princess Celestia horn started to glow. She must be about to catch me with her magic. So with that I rolled over and spread my legs and arms so that I could catch some air. When that happened I swear I heard every pony sigh in relief. With that I just laughed to myself and headed towards Ponyville.

Shortly after I started gliding towards Ponyville the castle blow ended and the mountain went straight down. Hmmm I wanna try something. I also began to hear the flapping of wings. Looking over my shoulder I saw the blue mare and the princess. Giving the birth a smirk, I rolled on my back and tilted my head back and arched my back to cause me to dive down the mountain side. They quickly followed me in the nose dive. Luna pulled up first at about a couple hundred feet. Rainbow Dash caught up with me and we were neck in neck with the ground speeding towards our faces.

The altimeter in my hud began to scroll faster and faster as I fell towards the ground. 500 feet, still diving. 400 feet, still diving. 300 feet, lower than I have ever dared to open at but she's still diving so I still am. Looking at her, she is now smirking at me and I smirk back. 200 feet, need to open now or I'm gonna crash. She's not pulling up, so nearly am I. God if I die, I'm going to be pissed. 100 feet, why is she not panicking yet. I have to open my arms and legs now or I'm gonna be a pancake. Right as I was about to, I gave a quick look and saw Dash open her wings. Yes I have won and with that I opened but when I looked a head I began to panic.

"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. There is so many trees." I tried to pull up but there was to much down wards momentum to pull up fast. Though the dive gave me enough momentum to shoot off like a bullet along the ground. So fast. About 30 feet in front of me there was a tree. I decided to lean to the right and to go around the tree. Then there was another tree and had to bank left. After that I was able to pull up and climb back up several hundred feet. Holy shit that was amazing. The adrenaline rushing through my body is insane. Though here comes Luna and she looks a tad bit upset about this whole incident.

"You! You! You, crazy human! You know how insanely dangerous that is? You could have died. Then what? Hmmm! You almost gave me another heart attack today. Please stop doing stuff like that. " She's not just upset. She is pissed off, infuriated.

"Calm down Luna. I know how dangerous that was. Yes I know that is the lowest I have every tried to pull up but I wanted to test myself to see how low I could go before I pull up." I think Luna almost fainted as she fell several feet before regaining her altitude. Probably shouldn't have mentioned the fact that I've never dove that low. "Luna seriously just calm down, I'm sorry for scaring you again. I won't do that again unless I let you know in advance. Ok."

"Ok."

Then Rainbow Dash flew up next to me. "That was awesome! You are awesome in my book now! Celestia the wind was insane when dove. I was woo and you were like woo and then when we close to the ground we were like pull up. So we gotta do that again." I just looked at her and smiled but I could feel Luna's stare burning a hole in the back of my head. Shortly after thought magic beams came flying at me. I was dodging and weaving. "Luna what is this?" I yelled.

"I don't know, the guard knows better to shoot. They know I'm going out flying with a guest. There is only one pony... Oh Blueblood. I have a few choice words for him when we get back. Before anymore words could be spoken I got dived on but dodged at the last second by a pegasus. What the actual fuck. Luna caught an orange one with fire colored hair and asked her what was going on. Before the pegasus could call the other ones off after the lashing Luna just gave her, another dove me. This time it clipped me and I lost control for a second.

I noticed it was dark and I like dark. There also happened to be gorge coming up. I lowered the night vision goggles that were on my helmet and aimed towards the gorge. Just before the next one could hit me I dove straight down and did the same thing as I did not even five minutes early with Rainbow Dash. This time I had a fucking armada of pegusi on my ass. I was going even fast and noticed dark blue trails coming off me as I bobbed and weaved through the rocks. The blue almost looked like are aurora Luna's horn gives off when she uses magic. Slowly I began to feel like I was speeding up but that isn't possible, I'm in a leveled flight.

I didn't have time to think of that as a large bolder came down and I just dodged it. Looking back I noticed several pegasi hitting the rocks that jutted off the cliff face on both sides. One even hit the boulder I dodged. Above the gorge were that orange mare, Rainbow and Luna trying to catch up and stop the others. The three also looked shocked, I wonder why. Next thing I that happened is that I went to look at myself and well to say the least I freaked out. So did the others as I heard them all yell in confusion. But in my shock I brought my hands in and well when you're flying twenty or so feet of the ground that isn't a good idea. Shortly I felt massive pain in my side and tumbled head over heals in the bottom of the gorge. Next thing I knew is that I flickered a few times before being visible again.

Luna, Rainbow and that orange one defended on me and called off the others. Shortly Luna turned around looking sad and agree again but this time she also had a slight bit of concern in her face. Why is she concerned?
