Alone

Jack walked down the stairs to his house, Danny was sitting by the fire place trying to warm up some food. It was the middle of winter and the boys are all alone. They're only fifteen year old boys, but they've been alone for about a year now. About a year ago, they woke up after a sleep over to find everyone in the world missing. They traveled for hundreds of miles but never found anyone but each other. Jack walked up to Danny and gave him a light pat on the shoulder.

"How's the food comin'?" Jack asked.

"So far so good, I'm just glad we found a way to store that deer meat. In this blizzard we're gonna need it." Danny said. Jack put his brown leather jacket on and tied his shoe laces.

"My boots are gettin kinda tight, I think I might look for another pair when I go out for a supply run. Speaking of which, I'm heading out to look for survivors. Do you need anything while I'm out?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, can you try to bring home more medical supplies? And maybe some work gloves if you can find any. I'm sick of accidentally cutting myself while gutting our food." Danny said.

"I'll see what I can do about the gloves, but medical supplies I can definitely get. I'm bringing some extra clothes with me just In case it gets too cold." Jack said while packing his bag. He checked his bolt action rifle, he had no rounds in the chamber but plenty of ammo in his bag. He slung the gun over his shoulder by the strap and put his bag on. "Alright, I'll see you in an hour or so. Your walky talky still work?"

"Uh, yeah, I'm on channel 19." Danny said. Jack switched on his walky talky and headed for the door.

"I should be back in 2-3 hours, if I'm not then walky me. Got it?" Danny nodded his head while stirring his pot of deer stew. Jack stepped out of the door and was met by a freezing wind, it was snowing a little bit. Jack wondered down the road until he came to the intersection of a street he had never been down. "Well, there's bound to be supplies down there. Hell, maybe even some survivors!" Jack said to himself. He frequently talked to himself like this when he was doing something, it helped to keep him focused and remember what needed to be done. Jack approached the first house, he picked the lock and stepped inside. "Hello!? Anyone in here!? I'm not here to hurt anyone! I'm just looking for other survivors! You know, hoping that me and my friend aren't alone!" Jack yelled into the house. He didn't get a response. "Well, guess this place is empty. I might as well see what supplies this place has." He walked towards the kitchen and opened the cabinets, he found many cans of food in one of the cabinets. He opened his bag and slid all of the cans in. Next stop was the bathrooms, jack walked up the stairs and saw a bathroom at the end of the hall.

He walked into the bathroom and opened the cabinets. He found plenty of pills, creams and bandages. "Sweet, I guess I should also Check the basement. You never know what tools you could find In these places." Jack walked down the cold concrete stairs to the basement. He pulled out his flashlight and his jaw dropped. There were a ton of guns hanging on the walls, who ever his person was had a small armory. There were M4A1's, M16's, light machine guns, sniper rifles and rifles in general. There were also pistols, military grade work gloves, bullet proof vests, body armor, tactical knives, mini-guns, shotguns and machine pistols. Jack checked every gun to make sure they weren't loaded, last thing he needed was to have a gun go off while taking it home. "Hey Danny, I found more food, medical supplies and I hit the mother load on weapons. Just letting you know, the model 1887 shotgun, the desert eagle and one of the mini-guns are mine. Oh and the mosin nagant with a sniper scope are mine." Jack said.

"Holy shot dude! Are you serious! You found that much! What is this like your tenth house?" Danny said over the walky.

"Nope, it's my first house. Oh and I found enough work gloves to last for years and I found some bullet proof vests along with other body armor."

"Dang dude, how are you going to get that stuff home?"  Jack shined his flashlight light around to see a tank.

"I think I know how i'm going to get the stuff home." Jack put everything in the duffel bags, and loaded into the tank.  He started the engine and slowly backed out of the house. The tank had no trouble treading through the thick snow. Within 15 minutes he was back at the house, he got out and unloaded the bags and carried them through the door.

"Where did you get all the stuff?" Asked Danny.

"I went to a house on Jefferson Street, it's the first house on the right." Jack said with a smug grin. He dumped the bags contents onto the table, Danny was awestruck by this large amount of weaponry. Danny saw one of the mini-guns and gave it a hug.

"This one is mine, don't touch it!"Danny said. Jack chuckled to himself.

"Don't worry, I have my own." Jack said. Danny's smile grew when he saw what Jack was carrying in his side holster.

"Is that a–"

"Yes, it's a Desert Eagle 50 caliber." He pulled it out and put ammo in it. "In gold. I also got some medical supplies and food." Danny ignored the last sentence.

"Dude, we are living every 15-year-olds dream." Danny said with a smile on his face. He picked up a berreta, he loaded it and placed it in his holster. "Dude, you gotta do another supply run tomorrow! Or any time soon! The sooner the better!" He said. Jack laughed and put a hand on Danny's shoulder.

"If it will make you happy I'll go out now, oh that reminds me. The tank is mine!" He said.

"Dammit! I was hoping you forgot about that! Oh well, I got the Comaro last time. Be sure to check for survivors too." Danny said.

"You betcha!" He said as he walked out the door. Jack sat in the tank, to his surprise it had a heating system to keep the drivers warm. "It must be one of those newer Russian tanks, that would also explain why there's a monitor so I can see where I'm going." Jack said to himself. He still had those extra clothes in his bag, but he had forgotten about them. He pulled up to another house on Jefferson and picked the lock again. "Time to do the old survivor check. HELLO!? ANYONE IN HERE!? IM WITH MY BEST FRIEND AND WE'RE LOOKING FOR SURVIVORS! WE WONT HURT YOU! WE JUST NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE LEFT!" Jack said.

"Hello!" Someone said back, it was a girl.

"Oh yes thank god, me and my friend thought we were all alone on the earth."

"What is earth?" The girl said.

"It's the planet we're on right now, didn't you learn this in school? There's eight planets orbiting around our sun, well, nine if you count Pluto. There is Mercury, Venus, earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune."

"What about equus?" The girl said.

"What?"

"I said, what about the planet equus?" She repeated, she fully revealed herself. She was naked. Jack covered his eyes.

"First of all miss, there is no planet in this solar system call equus. Second of all, why are you naked?"

"Why are you wearing so many clothes?" She asked.

"One, it's cold outside. Two, being naked in front of someone is considered a sign of sexual attraction. Stay right here, I'll go get you some clothes. How many of you are here?"

"Six, and we're all unclothed." She said.

"Jesus, I'm glad I packed enough Spain clothes for ten people." Jack said, he climbed into the tank and got his bag. He walked back in and shut the door when he noticed the girl was shivering. "Ok, here is you pair of clothes. My names jack, what's yours?" Jack said.

"My name is twilight sparkle. Girls, it's ok! He's friendly!" Twilight shouted up the stairs. Five other girls came down the stairs. "Girls, we need to put these on. According to this man right here, being unclothed around others is a sign of sexual attraction." Twilight handed them their clothes, jack sat down in a soft leather chair to wait.

"So, I know Twilights name. What are the rest of your names?" Jack said.

"I'm Rainbow dash! I'm the fastest flyer in all of equestria!" Said a rainbow haired girl.

"What in the name of mike is equestria?"

"It's a country." She replied.

"Not on this planet it isn't, I've studied the maps of earth hundreds of times."

"What is earth?" Before jack could answer Twilight spoke up.

"Oh yeah, girls, I don't think we're on equus anymore. From what this man says, equus isn't even a planet in this solar system. We had to have gone through some sort of portal. Which might explain our new bodies."

"Hold on, what do you mean 'new bodies'?" Jack asked.

"We used to be either unicorns, pegasi or earth ponies. I was the only exception, I was an alicorn princess. You see, I was casting a spell with my magic and something went boom. We fell unconscious and woke up out in the snow."

"So you were ponies and not people? Great, that means me and Danny are still technically the only human beings on the planet!" Jack shouted at the ceiling.

"Why were you shouting at the ceiling?" Twilight asked.

"It's called shouting at the heavens, it's our way of telling off our deities. We often do it when something goes wrong, or as we call it 'when shit hits the fan'." Jack said, he was holding his head in one of his hands.

"What is a 'fan'?" Twilight asked.

"It's a small device that spins three or more blades that are bent at certain angles, it directs airflow to help people keep cool. You can imagine what it would be like if shit was thrown into one." Jack said, twilight cringed. Rainbow dash just laughed. "So, what are the rest of your names?"

"I'm pinkie!" Said a pink haired girl.

"I'm applejack." Said the blonde haired girl.

"I'm Rarity, nice to meet you darling." Said the girl with curly purple hair.

"I'm, fluttershy." The second pink hair girl said quietly.

"Excuse me, jack was it? Why did you believe us so easily when we told you that we were actually ponies?" Twilight asked.

"Well and entire planet of human beings just disappeared in one night, leaving just me and my friend. So by now, I think anything is posible." Jack said. "Well, it's getting close to dark. You girls should hop inside my tank and I'll take you to a much warmer place. And before you ask, a tank is an armored military vehicle that shoots highly explosive projectiles from a long tube in the front. So don't touch anything when we get in, got it?" The six girls nodded. Jack picked up his bag and walked toward the door. "Alright, let's go." He said, the six girls followed him to the tank and he helped them get in. One of them got a little nervous when he shut the hatch.

"Hey, why did you close us in?!" Rainbow dash said.

"Because this thing has a system that creates heat and the heat will get out if we leave that hatch open. So unless you want to be freezing cold, that hatch stays shut." Jack said. He sat down and started the tank, he turned the tank around and started for home.

"So, tell us a bit about yourself jack." Twilight said.

"Well, I'm fifteen years old. I have a friend named Danny, we've been looking for survivors for about a year now. We've hundreds of miles in search of others, until now that has been met with disappointment. Although I don't know if you technically count, since you weren't born as human beings. Oh speaking of human beings, there something you should know about being human. We are omnivores, we eat plants and animals. We have to eat a combination of both to stay healthy. If you don't want to try meat, we have vegetables at our home base. I'm not gonna lie though, if you cook meats a certain way, they taste really good." Jack said.

"Oh my." Fluttershy said.

"What? We humans can't survive off vegetables only or just meat, we need a combination of them to stay healthy and alive." Jack said, he stopped the tank and turned to look at the girls. "We're here." He said. He helped them out of the tank and led them to the front door of their base. He opened the door and walked in.

"Hey, did you gat any supplies?" Danny asked.

"No, no supplies. But I found..." Jack stepped aside to let the girls in.

"Survivors!" Danny let out a laugh and gave jack a hug. "We finally found some people man!"

"Yep, except they weren't always people. Meet Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow dash, Applejack, Pinkie and Twilight." Danny released jack and looked at him for a second.

"You mean like those cartoon horses? Cause you just said their names."

"Of course, you choose now to show how much of a brony you are." Jack said jokingly.

"No I'm serious! Those were their names in the TV show."

"But those were fictional characters, these girls said they came from a planet called equus and a country called equestria." Jack said.

"Equus and equestria are from the show dumb ass!" Danny said.

"Well sorry I wasn't a brony like you were." Jack said.

"But wait, this means. OH MY GOD!" Danny screamed with a big smile, he ran over to Rainbow dash and gave her a crushing hug.

"Hey, what the?" Rainbow said.

"You'll have to excuse him, he's a big fan of you. He even has a small Rainbow dash plush toy. You'll know why he's a fan of you if you were listening to our conversation."

"Yeah I listened, so I see I have a fan. Well, what is my number one, most awesome trick?" Rainbow dash asked.

"The sonic rainboom from the first season of your show!" Danny said. "Oh jack, if I find out later that thing is just a cruel joke I will end you."

"Well, he's definitely a fan. Hey, can you let go of me now?" Rainbow said.

"Thirty more seconds." Danny said, Rainbow let out a sigh. "Ok I'm good." He said as he released Rainbow dash. "So, is anyone hungry? I just finished making some food."

"I don't know about y'all, but I'm starving." Applejack said.

"Well, anyone who is hungry follow me. Jack, your alright with making one of those canned soups right? Since we have special guests and all." Danny said. Jack let out a small laugh.

"I don't mind, I've been wanting to eat something different for once anyway." Jack said.

"Thanks buddy." Danny said.
