The Life Of Lightning Flash
Chapter Four: Night to Remember

I had been trying to perfect this move for months. I called it "The Diving Bolt." I would start by climbing up at high speeds to a high enough height, stop and then dive to the ground in a controlled spiral of barrel rolls. At the last second before hitting the ground I would thrust upwards and with all my speed fly to my previous height and return to sender.
I got my inspiration for the move back in summer flight camp after seeing another pegasus attempt something quite similiar but without the barrel rolls
It was time to show everypony the awsomeness of Lightning Flash! I started my climb upwards and was ready to start my spiral, as I started my continous barrel roll downwards, a sudden lightning storm erupted from the clouds above.
(The stadium wasn't in the sky you see.) As the lighning grew stronger and more frequent I lost my concentration and couldn't control my speed! It was as if my speed had been increased greatly since the lightning erupted. I was on a one way ticket ride to the ground.
I was paralzyed while falling to my death which was to be witnessed by thousands. I was going so fast I couldn't even control my wings. Was this really it? The end? I didn't know what to think or do, well there wasn't anything I could do!
Seconds from being the death of the famous foolish pegasus, my heavy fall was brought to an abrupt end. It couldn't have been any closer! I could feel a strong grip on my tail. Whoever or whatever was stopping me from faceplanting the ground, I owed them my life!
My saviour softly dropped me on the ground, once I had gathered my senses and nerves I turned to finally reveal my hero's identitiy. I sat in wonder as I looked upon the grinning face of the mysterious rainbow maned mare who had already proved enough of her skills tonight. This mare was truly something, she hovered above me accepting all of her praises and cheers without a sense of modesty. I couldn't blame her for showing off but that didn't stop her from checking on me.
"Nice mane. Just try not to burn it up in the atmosephere next time!" She advised and then giggled. I wasn't sure whether to take what she said as a compliment or not.
"Thanks. You weren't so bad out there yourself!" I replied with a chuckle. She grinned at my response but before she could reply the WonderBolts had appeared by our sides along with my father and her probable teacher.
"Thank Celestia your alright!" Yelled my father as he embraced me with a hug.
"We're glad your both safe and on the ground." Added the WonderBolt with the dark blue mane.
"I'm fine. Thanks to her!" I replied while pointing to the rainbow maned mare.
"That was some great work from both of you!" Said the other WonderBolt; this one with an orange like mane and different from the other with a female voice. I turned to my saviour who was now standing beside me. Her eyes gleamed with joy, this was obviously very important to her.
The WonderBolts left in a hurry leaving us four to ourselves while everypony else began to leave. The old stallion who accompanied my savior stepped towards me and said
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Xenon Draft and I am a professional flight teacher at Wingbury Academy. As I watched your fantastic capabilities of flight I couldn't help but wonder if you would like to attend at Wingbury Academy with my dear student here?"
I couldn't believe what he had asked me! To be able to attend at a flight academy!
"Yes! Of course! A million times yes!....Um if thats alright with you dad of course?" I replied turning to my father.
"Your dream is your destiny I guess. You've already proved enough of your love for flying tonight son." Replied my father with a proud smile.
"Then it is agreed! You will start your enrollment in a week." Agreed Xenon Draft.
The smile on my face almost felt like my jaw was gonna break.
