                                                                                          Chapter Five

My father and Xenon walked off to go chat probably about my enrollment at Wingbury, leaving me with the rainbow maned mare.

"I guess this means you're my new competition!...and friend.  Names Rainbow Dash by the way!" She said smiling.

"Cool to meet ya Rainbow Dash! I'm Lightning Flash!" We shared a smile and then it hit me! I had seen her before!

"I remember you! You were the pegasus who pulled off the Sonic Rain Boom back in summer flight camp! Your awsome!" I shouted suddenly with joy.

"You were there huh? Yeah I know. I'm awsome." She responded proudly with no modesty included. Again. I somewhat admired that about her.

"I can already tell we're gonna be good friends." I added.

And so a week passed and I had left Manehatten High, now starting at Wingbury Academy! I spent my first few days finding and getting used to my classes along with being escorted round by Rainbow Dash who showed me everything I needed to know about the academy. I quickly learn't and memorised my timetable and layout of the academy.

On the other hoof I made good friends with some of Rainbow Dash's buddies. Such as one pony who shared much in common with me and Dash.

He was called FireSpeed and loved to fly and race with me and Dash but could get quite competitive, ah who am I kidding! We all got very competitive! But we never let it overcome our friendship. I loved  asking him about his home and time in CloudsDale which is where a lot of the students lived. He also had a famous sister who was a DJ. They didn't get to see eachother often though but when they did they made the most of their time together.

Then there was a pony who I kinda felt sorry for but they always managed to cheer me up just like a lot of my friends! His name was Kensai Coal. Being born in a small village called Greensburg where most ponies didn't even know of its existence. Life there was peaceful until he had to be extracted to a hospital in CloudsDale due to a tornado ravaging his hometown. He only lived with his mother after the move because of his parents divorcing. His younger brother decided to stay with his father. He tried to make sure his mum never felt alone but her depression soon led to crime and evading the law.

This made life extremely tough for Kensei but it didn't change his personality. He was a shy pony but if you managed to get through his initial barrier you would find a very funny, loving and awsome party throwing stallion! Rainbow Dash even asked him to plan a welcoming party for me! It was Radical!

It had everything. Cakes, balloons, music which he supplied us with. Kensai was a great DJ and could easily mix up a few of his own jams and tunes! He would constantly go on and on about his dream to work with the famous Vinyl Scratch. He also had a nack for technology and how things worked which came in handy quite a few times!

He was amazing with animals and adored being around them. Which brings me on to the next friend, who of which was kinda similiar in the fact of loving animals. She was also extremely shy, I mean she couldn't even say her name properly to other ponies! But when she was near animals she was in her true form.

Her name was FlutterShy, she didn't have many friends her best one being Rainbow Dash! She was quite the odd one. Being a pegasus who is afraid of heights! I mean what? She was ever so kind though, sharing her lunch with us when some of us didn't have any bits to buy our own.

The five of us were all born in the same year with just a couple of months between our birthdays. It went in this order: FireSpeed, Kensei, Fluttershy, Me and then Rainbow Dash.

A lot of the pegasai at Wingbury Academy could get very competitive when it came to racing and always tried to better eachother on the academies many leaderboards. One of the best was of course Rainbow Dash. I was soon to climb up those leaderboards, showing off skills in every race. I was quite well known to a lot of the other pegasai but definatly not all of them. There were many students at Wingbury Academy.

By starting my new enrollment at Wingbury I couldn't stay in my current home for it made difficulties for my new friends and education. Two weeks after starting my enrollment me and my father moved to CloudsDale, a dream come true!

My mother went to live with my aunt back in Trottingham, she wrote to me and my father often. I wrote back when I wasn't swamped with work and hanging out with my buddies.

My friendship with Rainbow Dash had grown rapidly since that eventful night. We shared all the same classes, interests and spent all of our free time racing each other and hanging out with our other friends.

We also loved visiting our favourite places together such as the Weather Factory. Before I moved to CloudsDale, Dash had even offered that I stay at her house!  I felt as if..no I knew our friendship was growing so strong I even wanted to ask her out on a date!

But everytime I went to ask her I never had the guts to do it. When I did feel as if I could finally ask her there was always something that caused me to miss my chance.

I wondered if I would ever get my chance to ask......
