The Life Of Lightning Flash

                                                                                     Chapter Seven

The rest of our meal which was most delicious, dragged on for a few hours making our conversation very relaxed, calm and quite slow. There was quite a lot of time between each dish to eat.

This must have been the longest and maybe biggest lunch I've ever had! But then again there was that special offer that one time in the academy's canteen.

This was definitely the best lunch I've ever had though and thats not just because of the food! I could tell Kensai had put a lot of work, planning and bits into mine and Dash's special meal.

Everynow and again I could catch a quick glimpse of Kensei peering through the front door, obviously checking that everything went without a hitch. I guess when he said "I'll leave you two alone now" he actually meant "I'll spy on you both and hope you don't notice!" He never was the best at being sneaky!

I couldn't thank him enough for all of this though. I guess telling my friends about my true feelings for somepony was actually a great idea! I doubted them when I thought otherwise.

Without them none of this would have probably happened. I should have known they would be able to help! I''l be sure to always remember this, of course I'll remember this day!

As the afternoon went on, talking to Dash didn't feel much different then anytime before. I was just so relieved after this whole thing, after telling and showing her how I felt.

Her feeling the same way towards me couldn't make me feel any more happier! This feeling inside of me was completely new to me! It felt so wonderful! I had never loved a pony who wasn't family before.

The only family I could love was my father and mother really. By now I had tried to forget about my brother, I never told anypony about him. That doesn't mean I don't love him anymore, it just makes it hard for me to think of him in a positive way.

Ah! I hate it when these types of thoughts get into my head! But nothing's going to ruin my good mood!

After me and Rainbow Dash had finished our last bite to eat we still stayed sitting for a while. We both just felt so comfortable together now. We carried on with our normal and laid back conversation stopping every now and then to just look into each others eyes. I know this must sound very lovey dovey and soft but if you've ever been truly in love with someone then you'll truly understand.

Even if your time with that person didn't last you'll never forget that warm feeling inside!

Ah I went all Philosphical and stuff for a minute then. I don't know why I do that sometimes.

"So how's your training for your big race going?" I asked Dash while looking into her gorgeous eyes once more.

"It's going great! Me and FireSpeed are totally pumped and ready to go!" She replied confidently.

"Great! I can't wait to see you wipe the clouds with the other school!"  I replied in excitement.

"I wish it could be three against three then you could help too!" She said.

"Sucks! Don't worry though! Me and everypony else will be cheering for you!" I replied but who was I kidding! Dash wouldn't be nervous, she was always confident in herself winning.

With that said we got up and left the restuarant. As I opened the door with Dash close behind me I was expecting Kensei to jump scare me and ask "How'd it go!?"

But to my surprise he wasn't there, or he was just good at hiding. Rainbow Dash grabbed me by a hoof and asked

"Does this mean our date is over?"

"Dashie. Everyday with you is like a date and it always will be! Our love for eachother will never end." I replied while holding onto her hoof.

She smiled and then hugged me tightly. I couldn't believe this day! I now felt as if everything we wanted to tell each other had been said. I felt so, dare I say it once again! So relieved and awesome!

We embraced our hug for a few seconds before letting go.

"So whats next on your to do list for today?" Dash asked still smiling.

"Well how do you feel about me beating you in a race to PonyVille?" I replied with a cocky attitude.

"Your on! Ready? 3,2,1, GO!" And she was off in a second!

I immediatley zoomed off after her. I managed to catch up to her pretty quickly. I had only beaten Dash in a race once and she was exhausted that day. That didn't stop me from coming close a lot of the time.

PonyVille wasn't too far away, well not for us anyway! I had only visited there a couple of times. Of what I remember it was quite small and there was a farm where they sold the best cider in all of Equestria! Damn that stuff was good!

The farm's family were nice and friendly as well! I couldn't remember their names but I do remember their faces. There was a big red one who was always doing the hard labour work, an old granny who still kept her end of a hard days work.

There were was another. But what was her name? Before I could day dream a second longer I realised my lack of concentration had distracted me from noticing the group of trees in front of me!

Then "CRASH!" I had gone head first into a cherry tree. I awoke from my crash with a stabbing pain in my forehead. I slowly opened my eyes to see a dark red stallion pegasus sitting opposite me with confusion and interest. He had a long black mane and tail and white tipped wings.

He was sitting beside a bag spilling with books. This stallion was obviously some sort of an egghead. I didn't always mind that though.

"Wh-what happened?" I asked while scratching my head.

"Seems to me that you got distracted while flying over head and crashed into this cherry tree." He replied.

"H-how long have I been unconscious!?" I asked desperately.

"Just about twenty minutes or so. Don't try to get up too fast!" He advised me and then started packing away his books into his bag.

"Well it was nice meeting you-" "Hemlock. My names Hemlock." He added.

"Nice meeting ya Hemlock! I'm Lightning Flash! Sorry but I gotta dash to PonyVille!" I replied as I grabbed my bag with Dashie's gift in it.

"Hey maybe I could come with! I live there you know." He said with a smile.

This guy seemed cool but  I wanted to spend the rest of my day with Dash who was probably waiting for me at the town centre.

"Uh..Yeah..I guess but I gotta meet somepony too!" I replied kindly.

"Thats cool I'll leave ya to your business when we arrive." He responded calmly.

And so we headed of to PonyVille together. This stallion didn't seem to bad. For an egghead.

"So where do you live Lightning?" Hemlock asked.

"In CloudsDale. I also go to Wingbury Academy." I replied.

"Really! I go there too! I'm currently studying animals and plantation. How about you?" He replied with much interest and joy.

"Huh really? Must have never seen you before! I'm studying the awesome wonders of flight and our great pegasai ancestors." I replied.

We were soon to arrive at PonyVille. As we arrived I instantly noticed Rainbow Dash sitting upon a small cloud above the town hall. She had also noticed me. Dash appeared in front of me in a blink of an eye.

"What happened? Where were you? I was WORRIED!!" She asked with an angry look on her face.

"Uh-well-I kinda...ummm" I couldn't tell her I crashed! Even though it would cheer her up!

"He kinda collided with a tree I happened to be sitting under." Hemlock said with a slightly nervous smile.

"What?! Ahahahahaha!" Was her only response as she fell on her back laughing. I couldn't help but giggle as well! Even Hemlock joined in the fun! After a friendly exchange of laughter about my accident I suddenly noticed how late it had got! The town's clock tower showed that it was almost eight pm!

Today really had gone in a flash! Proves right the term "Time flys while your having fun."

"Who's your new buddy Flash?" Asked Dash as she finally stood.

"His names Hemlock and he helped me recover from my..collision. He goes to Wingbury like us!" I replied.

"Really? Well nice to meet ya Hemlock! Any friend of my Coltfriend here is a friend of mine!" Dash replied as she offered Hemlock a hoof shake.

"ColtFriend eh? Heheh!" Hemlock accepted Dash's hoofshake while somehow finding it funny that me and Dash were going out.

"Whats so funny? You never heard of love? Haha!" I asked Hemlock.

"It's just cute how you both have similiar manes and attitude and your dating." He replied kindly.

"Whatever! Hey we'd love to stay and chat but it's getting late! I''ll be sure to catch up with ya soon!" I replied while grabbing Dash by the hoof and hovering above Hemlock with her.

"Looking forward to our next meet!" Shouted Hemlock as we flew back to CloudsDale.

Once we arrived back in CloudsDale I escorted Dash home. It was really dark and late and I could read the tiredness on Dashies face. I felt the exact same way. Before reaching her front door I turned to her and handed over my gift. She unwrapped it in a second and as she layed her eyes upon it, I swear to Celestia I'd never seen her smile so much!

"Today was certainly interesting Dash and of course awesome! Well..Goodnight Dashie!" I said, but before I could open her door for her she swung me around and gave me a goodnight kiss on the lips. Of course I had already kissed her but I think she felt like returning the favour.

"Goodnight Lightning." She calmy said as she let go of me and opened her front door while  grasping her new gem in her hoof. As her door closed behind her, I started to fly home.

When I finally arrived home I found my father asleep in his bedroom and I went to mine.

My bed exactly how I left it this morning, I jumped into it and shot off straight to sleep.
