Shades of Violet

     "I can't believe it's been almost 12 years since those princesses put us in this prison!" said Violet to her cell mate, Ditzy Doo (AKA: Derpy). "But look on the bright side, we get three meals a day and no one can hurt us for disobeying the princesses!" Ditzy replied. Then there was a feint sound coming from out side, and it grew closer and closer every second. "What's making that noise, Ditzy?" Since she was on the top bunk, she could see though the bars and to the outside. "I can't really tell, it sounds like gunshots, but my therapist says I have PTSD, so that could be anything." Then the prison sirens went off, blaring a loud, annoying tone.

    "Let me see!" Said  Violet as she moved Ditzy. Violet looked out the window and saw a small figure that was all black, it looked up at her and started running towards the prison. "Someone's coming this way, but why?"

   "Maybe they will break us out of here Violet!" Ditzy said as sarcastic as possible. Then the sound returned but this time louder and clearer. "Wait, I know that sound! It is gunshots!" Said Violet., "But they're heading in our direction! Are they mercs here to kill us, or rebels to break us out?"

    Ditzy, Violet and the rest of the squad all knew about the civil war between the army and the princesses, the gaurds came by every week with the newspaper just to yell at them about how they caused this and that the nation has fallen from greatness. The only reason the princesses haven't lost yet is because the Air Force has sided with the princesses, the two branches of the military are in constant conflict and have been since Violets squad was arrested and inprisoned. The army saw it as they were imprisoned for doing good. The Air Force saw it as disobeying the princesses. With the two disagreeing, the nation was no longer conquering foriegn lands.

     Gunshots rang throughout the prison halls, these ponies were determined to get to their target, it appeared they would stop for nothing. "My bet is they're mercs." Said Ditzy, "what do you think?" Violet sat on the floor with her back aginst the wall, next to the beds. Violet was quiet for a few minutes until the gunshots stopped and the two could hear ponies running up the steps. "I don't know Ditzy, I guess we're about to find out."

     About ten seconds later the door at the end of the hall flew open and voices screamed, "EVERYPONY ON THE GROUND, NOW!" Violet looked at Ditzy who was still sitting in the bed and then got up and walked over to the beds and sat on the bottom bunk.

     They could hear the cell doors being opened one by one, after a few minutes a pony covered in black armor looked into Violet and Ditzy's cell and said, "I think these are te ones were looking for!" Then a response from down the hall replied, "It better be!" Followed by footsteps.

     Violet thought to herself, 'wait a minute, I know that voice from some where... But where?" Then another pony, who was also dressed in black looked at them and said, "Well, I'll be damned! Haven't seen you in twelve years!" The pony the pulled of his mask and looked at Violet and said, "I missed you sweat pea." Violets mouth fell open as she looked at him, he was the last pony she expected to see. "Dad? What are you doing here?!" Ditzy got off the top bunk and said, "Not mercs, I lost yet another bet."
