The Dark-Verse: Innocence Lost
Celestia flew through ashen skies, her eyes stinging as she looked to the land below her.
To the west, lay the griffons and their threstral allies. To the east were the draconies, once proud and tall. In the north were the snow never stops, the crystal kin. And to the hot south, the changelings and dragons rested, now locked in an eternal dream.
The great races of her world, gone.
And it was all her fault.
Her heart ached as she lost the will to fly, falling to the ground at an alarming pace. A ground charred, blacked by alicorn magic. Fear gripped her sorrow, making her spread her wings before she could embark on that final embrace with the earth. Landing on blacked stone, her tears poured out without end, heard by none, her fellow ponies far away, taking shelter in the mountain of her home.
First her sister, and now this. Stop the nightmare with force. Stop the changelings with force. Threats were answered with force, leading the princess to this desolate, lonely place. She knew, no matter how many years, how many tears, she'd never be able to make up for this.
It hurt. It hurt so much. She wanted somepony to take that pain from her. To hug her, to say that everything was going to be okay. She knew it was an empty wish, so she cried all the same. A darkness formed in her scared heart, it resonated in her as if it was always there.
A cruel dark presence.
Her ears then perked, hearings something beyond the lonely wind. It was the cries of a foal. She latched onto that cry, like a sinner seeking repentance, she sought out the life seeking attention, being drawn to a cindered home.
Finding a sealed cellar, her magic effortlessly tore open the metal doors, descending down into the dark room, finding a crying filly in an playpen, her mane was silver and her coat was a lite shade of blue. Another filly sleeping next to her despite the noise; she had a dark pink coat and violet mane which sported teal streaks.
"Shhhh. It's okay, there's no need to cry." Celestia said as she brought the abandoned foals into her embrace, her tears redoubling as she held them close. She felt their warmth, and took solace in it. "I'll look after you, so don't cry. I promise, I'll make everything right." She said, making the promise more to herself then the foals.
"So don't you cry. Everything, will be all right." She assured, rocking the blue filly to sleep, before taking them both from the burnt home.
She looked to the desolate field, her eyes looking to her weapon, burning bright in the sky. "I'll make everything right. For these two. I can at least do that. Right?" She asked the wind, which offered no reply, as she took flight, towards her mountain, hoping the worst was behind her.
