(Torian`s POV, 3 days after Changeling Invasion)

As the sun rises over the horizon and light shines through the window, I wake upon a strange feeling on my back. Reached over to try and massage it but instead I felt something feathery like wings on my left and something leathery on my right. Then I walked into the bathroom where a mirror was and looked to see myself with a pair of mismatched wings: A bat`s right wing, and a left pegasi wing. I flapped them a few times as over millions of thoughts flooded my head of how cool or bad this was.

I honestly thought this was the coolest thing ever not to mention this will give me the chance to experience flight on a whole new level without any instruments, controls, or cockpits preventing me to feel the wind in my face.

"I`ve got to show the others, maybe they can figure out why I suddenly got wings." I thought to myself as I went to prepare myself to meet my friends and marefriend.

I tucked my wings inside of my shirt to hide them as I searched Ponyville for my friends, It must have felt like hours before I found them at a cafe.

"Hey, everypony." I greeted as I got some warm smiles in return.

"Hey, how have you been?" Twilight asked wiping a napkin across her muzzle.

"Nothing much, fixing up my biplane, met a nice Zebra in the Everfree and I now have wings." I explained as everypony looked confused.

"Since when did you have wings, and if so how come we haven`t seen them before?" Rainbow asked.

"I have no idea Rainbow, all I know is that when I went to see Zecora, they weren`t there, the next morning they appeared." I replied as I exposed my mismatched wings and everypony gasped in either amazement or fright.

"You wouldn`t happen to have seen any blue flowers along your way back did you?" Rarity asked with a nervous smile.

"I did, why?" I asked unsure of what could be the problem.

"That was Poison Joke, a plant that can play a trick on you if it is touched." Applejack explained as I really fell down a hole there, the many plants that have magical powers and they use it on me to have some sort of laugh, but it wont matter, I love these wings and I cant wait to learn how to use them.

"But, dont you worry, there is a cure for this and youll be back to normal in no time." Minuette hugged me as I hugged her back then gave everypony my final decision.

"I actually want to keep these." and once more there was a gasp as I explained. "All my time in the Air Force, I`ve wondered and dreamed about how nice and peaceful it were to be, if I had wings I can use to let the wind blow in my face and not have some machine do it for me, This was actually a dream come true for me."

The ponies nodded in understanding and Rainbow hovered toward me. "Hey, since you have wings, I can teach you how to use them after we are done."

"Thank you Rainbow, I`d appreciate that." I replied as we all got together and chatted some more about the time I met Zecora or how close am I to repairing my damaged biplane.

Soon it was time to start my flight training with my new wings with my flight instructor, Rainbow Dash while the rest watched for moral support. We started on a hill where she began teaching me the basics. To me it felt like I was a recruit again before I lived up to my nickname where all the recruits were in line anxious to shoot down some enemy Japanese aircraft.

"OK now Im not going to rest until I see you flying in the air." Rainbow said mimicking a Drill Sargent from the Army. "Now lets see what youve got."

I began flexing my wings to make them nimble and as I flapped to try and lift from the ground, I was able to hover for a few seconds about 10 meters from the ground before my wings gave out.

"Alright, so it seems all we need to do is practice until you can stay airborne longer, lets get started." And with the sound of her whistle, we began the training. I had to do wing-ups, lifting weights with only my wings, and even trying to glide from a 6 story cliff. I did have a little difficulty trying to maintain in the air for more than about a few seconds, but after receiving the support from my friends and believing in myself more, I was able to stay airborne for about a few minutes, which marks a major improvement. After what seemed like 4 hours of hard work, sweat, and sore wings, I was finally able to stay aloft for hours and we did a celebration like we had when we finished basic training in the Air Force.

"Torian, you showed determination, hard work and overall improvement when I first saw you and I personally say that you have achieved and exceed my expectations, so as your instructor, I hereby decree you as a professional flier, congratulations soldier." Rainbow said as we exchanged salutes and ponies cheered at a grand success.

"Thank you, Rainbow, but I could have never done it without you and the rest of our friends." I said as we all embraced in a group hug. Soon I decided to take a flight and experience this for myself now that I can stay in the air longer and looked over the great sunset over the Equestrian horizon.

Hey ponies and bronies, Golden here (like my new intro?) Im soo sorry this was a bit latter than expected I was on a tremendous writers block and school, Im so glad I am able to get this out and hopefully you enjoyed it.

Secondly, dont hate on the wings because Discords wing designs were pretty cool and I imagined what a human would look like if he had wings like that so I slapped them on there when Torian went to Zecora`s for the first time.
