Exploring A New World

I was sitting at Morgana's Bakery having lunch with a John, friend of mine. We had just finished a tough match, my friend was my ADC (For those who don't, know thats Attack Damage Carry.) and I was his Support. The both of us ended up having to carry our team to victory cause everyone else just straight up sucked. Right as we got our food, Diana came sprinting over to me. “Hey Summoner we have to go. The Institute has found something that is of note and of the greatest importance to go and see.” How many times do I have to tell her not to call me Summoner? But what could be so important that she's this worked up about it?

“Diana, I told you to call me Grant and not Summoner since we became friends way back. Yet you still call my Summoner, come on now Diana." I gave her a pouting face, while John just laughed at us. "Now, I’ll follow you just let me get a few bites in. As you can see the food literally just came. Do you have any idea what the Head Summoners want from us this time?”

“No, I don't have a clue. All I know is that because of Vel'Koz, they were doing some testing with void magic. Which entailed them discovering a portal. They're sending us and one or two other Champions to investigate where the portal goes.”

“So you do know something?” I finished my sandwich and wiped my mouth that had a smirk on it. I gave her a playful shove while she just laughed and shook her head. "Well lets head over there." Diana and I go way back and have been friends pretty much the entire time she's been apart of the League. When I first joined the League, I started as just a Support Summoner. I will still say I'm a Support Summoner but I am also a Midlane Summoner and play a lot more of it now then I use too. After only playing Support for a long time, I wanted to start branching out more and decided to try being a Midlane Summoner. When I began, I sucked and it took me a long time to find the champion that just clicked with me. For the longest time I would summon Ahri because she was closest to what I was looking for. About a month or so after trying out Midlane I was about to give up but Diana joined the League of Legends. It was maybe week after Diana joined that I met her randomly at Morgana's Bakery before one of my matches. While we waited for our coffee and bagels, we began to chat. After a little bit I asked her if she would be ok with me using her on the Rift that afternoon. She was fine with it, after that match we began to destroy all our other Midlane opponents and never looked back since.

After a little bit we began to bond more and I began to take a liking to her and her company. Quickly we went from being an acquaintance of each other to being best friends. I found out she’s had it rough coming from her home land. Everyone there praises the sun and shuns and exiles anyone who doesn't praise the sun to put it nicely. In her case she was exiled for praising the moon. Honestly that puts it in a PG manor. Though she was very far from being exiled in a PG manor.

One of the big things that we bonded over was the moon. It is very majestic and I can see why she praises it. I also personally prefer night to day, which also helped our friendship grow. After she has been with the League for about a year and a half. The Institute paired her and I up to do missions for them. We’ve gone on several missions similar to this, but yet none have been because of a portal that went to another world. We have gone all over Runeterra locating disturbances and tracking champions that have gotten lose. Most of the time it is just the two of us but we have gone with partners if its for tracking and retrieving more extreme Champion. Or if the disturbance could end up being a big deal. For example one time, Cho’Gath got lose. God that was awful, it took us a week to track him and a whole day to bring him down. On that mission it was Diana and I along with Fiora, Ekko (who can reset time, which came in handy multiple times.), Sivir and Thresh. Yes we had a full team, that is how bad it was. There have been times where I considered asking her out but I didn’t want to jeopardize anything. She is the my best friend and I was scared of losing her.

Now I wonder who will be joining us on our expedition this time. The walk to where we were told to go wasn’t to far but it was a nice walk. When we got there I figured it was something serious because I saw a green ora and that means Thresh is here. The Institute only asks him to join if something is beyond serious. Hence why he came with us when Cho’Gath got lose. As we came around the last bend I saw him standing with Caitlyn. Now she only came if it was more of an extreme expedition. For example one time we had to far into the forest of the Kumungu. There was a strange artifact, the artifact was one that could amplify a magic users abilities. If someone that shouldn't get their hand on it did, that would be a bad time. That is a story for another time though.

Now Caitlyn, Thresh, Diana and I are in a semi-circle around the head Summoner of the Institute. After standing for a minute or two he began to speak. “As some of you may know we were running experiments with Void magic and ended up creating a portal to another world and dimension. In all honesty we have no clue where this portal goes and if the indigenous life on it are peaceful or not. We do know that, where ever this goes that the atmosphere is life sustaining. The oxygen and CO2 levels are perfect, if not better than here. The temperatures in this region is moderate, like it is here. Now you four are gathered here because you are the best of the best when doing missions. We would like you four to go and see what is on the other side, the portal works both ways and we would like to have friendly contact with what ever beings are over there. Do you understand?” We all nodded. “Good. Now suit up and packed, be ready to leave in fifteen.”

I went and put on the armor that the Institute had given me when we began these expeditions and missions. The comfort of this armor is amazing. I could wear this armor all day and not feel tired or sore from weight or from an awkward piece of metal. It does help magic plays a factor in this and provides it to feel weightless. Now the look of the armor is similar to a male version of Sivir’s Warden armor, just the black and white color scheme to mach Diana’s normal armor. The armor is thin to provide the best mobility possible but is also the strongest possible to taking blows. Magic also plays a facto in that, it is enchanted to make it stronger to physical blows and resistant to all but the strongest magic attacks. For the strongest damage it just reduces the damage.

The gauntlets that Sivir has they hold a gem on the back of each hand. On this armor though, it holds a shard from the moon. Therefore Luna can uses the presence of the shards to boost her magic capabilities, since she gains power off the moon. Now, how the Institute acquired pieces of the moon, well I have no fucking clue.

On the back of the chest plate, there are white, feathered wings on the back that allow for flight. Not gonna lie the wings look very, very majestic. They look along the lines of the wings that Kayle has. If for some reason you don't know who Kayle is, well she is an immortal with angel wings. Now I have no clue how the Summoners got my wings to work and attached to the armor but still they are bad ass. All I have to do is think and boom they work. Learning to fly was a little rough but really hilarious to the spectator. I have never crashed learning something new so damn much.

The helmet doesn't have the opening over the mouth and the horns that Sivir's does. The piece over the nose connects with the bottom part giving each eye their own whole. The eye slots light up as white, very brightly when the helmet is on. After all the pieces of the armor had been put on. I went to grab a small bag, which had to be custom made so I can fly while it's on my back. With it I packed a some normal clothes, like pants and shirts but I really didn’t need much. Also threw in a jacket, incase we do go to a cold environment. The last thing I packed is my most high quality Summoner robe, just incase we did meet the head of the society we encounter. The robe does have magic infused in it, to provide a little protection. So, if we meet anyone that does feel like attacking us while I wear it, it will provide a little protection. No where near the protection that the armor I'm wearing provides though. The last thing I packed is some snacks for us to have if we can't fine the inhabitants or catch food for a few days. Besides that, what is there for me to pack? I don’t have or use any weapons, I only use magic.

Diana put her normal armor on and she also did pack a few pairs of clothes though, in her bag. It's not like we're gonna be in our armor the whole time. She packed her other two reverse khopesh. She always brings her other weapons because there is the possibility one may break. That was learned the hard way on our second mission together. Luckily though it was on the way out and there weren't many creatures left. She also packed her Luna Goddess attire because if we are to meet the heads of what ever the people at this place this portal goes. She wanted to have the right clothing for that. At the last moment she packed her Dark Valkyrie, which surprisingly provides a good amount of protection.

Thresh packed literally nothing. He always carries his scythe and lantern. Plus he is basically a ghost and needs nothing. If he wants to change his form into on his others he can. I don't know how it works but it is kinda like he shape shifts into another form. When he was ready to go, he had changed into his Blood Moon armor.

Caitlyn probably packed the most out of the four of us. She normally would change into her Resistance uniform because it is good for exploring, which is what we are doing. In this case though, because it was not on Runeterra she went with a more armor. The sherif put on her Head Hunter armor on. This armor is similar to mine in the way it is built but with less metal armor and more body armor that was like kevlar. It is also enchanted to make it feel weightless along with provide more resistance to physical and magic attack. When I say physical I also mean projectiles like bullets and what not. The enchant though isn't that strong and really can handle middle to high damage magic. Against physical damage it is perfect. Now she pulled out the riffle that went along with this armor. It was custom made to provide not just physical damage but to also has magic damage. The magic get's infused into the bullet when it gets into the chamber of the riffle. She packed all of her different scope she has for her riffle and packed her normal purple outfit for meeting the heads of society we encounter. Along with that she also packed her Resistance and Arctic Warfare uniform. After that she grabbed a couple set of clothes then was ready to go.

Finally we were all packed and stood in front of the gate. The summoner nodded and then we headed all into the portal. As soon as we got through the portal we knew that this was Runeterra anymore. Even though it is night, the colors were way to vibrant to still be on our world. Diana spoke up, “The moon here is very strong and emitting a lot of magic. I can feel my power growing past what it is normally at when on Reneterra. That includes when you where your armor Grant. While we are on this planet, I must find out why.”

After we a little bit of looking around the portal, it began to fluctuate and then it closed. “Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Was all I could say but before anyone else could say anything we heard a twig snap. I immediate casted ignite in both hands holding it until I saw the target. Caitlyn knelt down and looked through her scope trying to find something. Diana casted her Pale Cascade. Thresh threw out his lantern in the direction the sound and and began to swing his scythe in preparation of throwing a Death Sentence.

After a few seconds Caitlyn spoke. “We got movement to my three o’clock. Cannot identify the the creature or amount because of the brush. There is definitely more than one and they're moving fast and at us.” Her British accent is just awesome. Thresh brought his lantern back and tossed it to where she was pointing out.

“Ok I can see it with my lantern. It appears to be a pack of wolfs, but get this, they’re made out of wood. Wonder what their souls are like.” With that the first of the pack leaped at us. Caitlyn shot it and it exploded and a green light appeared and got sucked into Thresh. "The power from their souls are very strong." Then two came out this time, Caitlyn shot one and Diana got the other. Now they keep coming at us from all sides. I’m constantly casting my ignite, which is causing a fire but is killing the animals. After we get through this I can handle the fire. Thresh keeps on hooking and then flaying multiple of those wooden wolfs.

Diana is throwing out her Crescent Strikes in-between fighting with her blade. The Crescent Strikes though are doing a crap tone more damage than I’ve ever seen in my life. It has to be the moon that is making her magic do this much damage. Then her moonfall is ridiculous it is even pulling us in. Ok note to self, we do need to find out the reason behind why her powers are being amplified so much. Then Caitlyn actually switched to her Headhunter rifle and was doing work. Her Piltover Peacemaker was cutting through these beast like they were butter.

After what felt like forever, the onslaught finally stopped. “Oh so many souls, num num num.”

“God Thresh, really? Uhhhh. Well let me put this fire out.” All summoners were taught a water spell incase ignite got out of control which was very handy at the moment. “Ok now with the fire out we should probably try to find a civilization.” They all agreed and we began to head in a general directions. In this case it happened to be north.

After trekking for about a good two hours or so with no more animals attacking us, we ran into what looked like a pony. Not just a normal pony but a bipedal, yellow pony with a pink mane. With what looks like three butterflies on her flank. She had hands but had hoofs as her feet. This actually kind of reminded me of Soraka. Though, she also has a tail and ears coming off of her like Ahri, just not with nine tails. She stood a foot shorter than me and I stand at around six feet tall. The strangest thing though is that the pony had wings. This was a bipedal pegasus, holy hell, who knew they actually existed. To top it off though, she was talking, yes talking. This yellow pony was talking to the animal in front of her. What is this place? “So I’ll go make contact with it, as she does seem peaceful. Thresh make sure to stay out of sight a because you can be very intimidating.” They nodded but gave me a worry look because the only thing we’ve ran into have been violent creatures.

Slowly I made my way from behind the tree and came slowly up to the side. I stood about ten feet so that I don’t appear to close. I even took off my helmet, to look more friendly. Taking a deep breath I began to talk. “Hello fellow pegasus. My name is Grant and I am here to make peaceful contact with you.” She began to shake and slowly looked towards me. As soon as we made eye contact she screamed, like nothing I’ve ever heard. Well it was more of an eep than a scream but it was still loud as hell. She took off the direction we were headed. I waved at my comrades to follow, figuring she would lead us to a society. “Well that could have gone better.”

After another twenty minutes I saw the edge of the forest. “Look, I see that mare.”

Diana spoke up, “I see and I see what I guess are her friends. They look pissed to say the least and that blue one. That one looks like a feisty little one. Guys I would keep your weapons holstered but have them ready incase it gets violent. Also try to appear not that threatening, so Grant I would take your helmets off. Cait I would raise visor but I would recommend taking the helmet off though. Thresh, turn into your green form. It's the least scary one you have.” Everyone agreed and did as she instructed on our way out of the forest..

As soon as we got out, the purple one shot a magic blast right in front of us. Apparently looking not threatening didn't work. We immediately got ready to fight, I left my helmet off but Caitlyn put hers back on and lowered the visor. Caitlyn crouched and pointed her riffle at purple one. Thresh put his lantern in the middle of us giving us a shield, while swinging his hook. Diana got her shield balls ready and I got casted ignite in both of my hands. The purple one spoke, “Stand right there creatures of the Everfree. You chased our friend, why? And what are you and who are you, I’ve never seen you or your kind before.”

“Hello, I see that we may have gotten off on the wrong foot." I think I broke the purple one when I spoke. I say that because she is just standing there slack jawed. I legitimately don't think she expected us to talk. "Ok, I can see that we are different, well species, than would be around here. The two ladies and I are humans. The man glowing in green is a spectral reaper. He can be scary but only if you piss him off." They slightly cringed at that. I couldn't tell if it was because of the foul language or because what Thresh is. Myself and the lady with white hair are proficient in magic. She is also good with weapons. The other one is good with guns. He is well good with magic and normal weapons." They didn't need to know the fact that he feeds on souls yet. That might send them off the deep end. I wonder if us eating meat would do that to them too? "The white haired woman name is Diana, the Scorn of the Moon, the other female is named Caitlyn, the Sheriff of Piltover. The green man is named Thresh, the Chain Warden. My name is Grant, the Summoner. People where we are from made a portal and it put us here. We are here to make a peaceful contact with the living species of this world. Now would you be so kind and return the favor and introduce yourself?” When I finished all of their mouths now were hung open.

“You... you can talk?" I nod. "Can all of you talk?"

"Yup." We the other three responded at the same time.

"Oh wow and fine I'll introduce us. My name is Princess Twilight Sparkle, I’m the student of Princess Celestia. The white unicorn, is Rarity. The orange earth pony, is Applejack. The pink one, well that is Pinkie Pie. " That one has so much enjoy, she's bouncing everywhere.

"Ooo we have new ponies to Ponyville, well not ponies but still new being here in Ponyville. This means a..." Twilight put a hoof in the yellow ones mouth.

"Not now Pinkie. The yellow pegasus you previously have met is Fluttershy. Last but defiantly not least, otherwise her ego will shatter, is Rainbow Dash.”

The blue mare than spoke up, “The best flyer in all Equestria. So don’t try anything funny.” Thresh and Caitlyn all just laughed. Rainbow Dash gave them such a dirty look. “What is so funny?”

Thresh spoke up, “You really think you can beat us with your flying?” Is he trying to get us killed?

“I know I can.”

“I bet you can’t.” Yup definitely trying to get us killed.

“You’re on.” Twilight and I looked at each other and at the ones in the challenge. I can see what she meant about this ones ego. With that Rainbow Dash took off and flew at us. Diana threw her Crescent Strike. RD just laughed because nothing happened. Little did she know what was in stored. She pulled up but then stopped after a few minutes and looked confused.

Thresh threw a Death Sentence and caught the little mare, who tried to pull away but couldn’t go any where. She was actually getting pulled backwards, that Caitlyn fired her 90 Caliber Net, which got her all tangled. Which caused her to crash into the ground After trying to break free of the net for like ten minutes she did give up. “Ok, I guess you guys win this challenge but I’ll get you next time.” The two champions just laughed again which made Dash clearly get more mad.

I knelt down and took off the net while using heal to to get rid of any damaged done to her. The purple one gave me a shock look about me healing. “Yes Twilight I can use magic. Now enough of challenges like this everyone. Can we just go somewhere to talk?”

She spoke up after in shock at just what happened. She hasn’t seen anything that we can do yet. “Yeah we can, let me write some things to down so I can remember to include them in the letter I have to send to the princesses about your guys's arrival.”

“That sounds fine.” She quickly spawned a letter in front of her and used her magic to write something. After that the letter quickly disappeared and turned around beginning to walk. We just followed behind all six of the ponies.
