"Bonn Bonn! Where are you? I bought groceries!" I yelled.

"In the living room! I'm watching The Red Love, you know, the show that I really like?" Bonn Bonn yelled back. I could hear a TV being turned off.  Then I heard trotting into the kitchen. I trotted into the kitchen and placed the bag of groceries on the counter. The I opened the refrigerator, putting all of the food in there, except for the bread, which I left out on the counter. Bonn Bonn appeared next to me.

"Hello, Lyra. Did you bring milk? Because I can't eat cereal without milk, and I skipped breakfast!" Bonn Bonn told me. I rolled my eyes.

"Bonn Bonn, we have jelly, and we do have a few pieces of bread. Not to mention the toaster. Why couldn't you eat any of that?" I asked. Bonn Bonn laughed.

"Duh! Because I really felt like cereal! Now did you bring milk?" Bonn Bonn asked again.

"Yes, Bonn Bonn. I bought milk. I also bought an interesting book from Twilight. I have no idea what it is, but the name just looked interesting! To bad there was only one book about it. Hey, what do you think of it, Bonn Bonn? Anthropology: The Mythology Of Humans!" I said happily. Bonn Bonn shrugged.

"Eh, not my taste, humans are false mythology. Don't you remember that from the mythology class?" Bonn Bonn told me. I sighed.

"Yeah, I guess. But doesn't it sound cool?"

"Lyra, drop it. Why even learn about something if it's not true?" Bonn Bonn asked. I sighed.

"I don't care," I muttered. Bonn Bonn gave me an assuring smile.

"Look, I mean... you can learn about if you want. Don't let me stop you, I just don't see the point of it. But you can read about that book as much as you want," Bonn Bonn told me. I lifted the book with my magic.

"Thanks," I said. Bonn Bonn smiled and headed to the living room, probably to finish the episode of her love show.

I went up stairs to our little room. I looked out the window, seeing ponies walk around town. I sighed, before jumping on the bed, and opening my book to the first page.

Anthropology: The Mythology Of Humans

Humans are found to be tall creatures, standing on only two legs, which are quite long, and have what is called a hand on there front hooves, and feet on there two legs. They have tiny muzzles, no horns, wings, or any magic of any kind. There ears are rounded connected to sides of there head, quite small. There manes come from the top of there scalp, to however long they want it. There skin can be found within the usual colors of peach and brown. There mane colors can be found within the colors of brown, blond, ginger, and burgundy. Humans are not known to have tails.

What? What? What? The first paragraph, and that comes in. What? What? What? Oh my god! These are some interesting creatures.

"Bonn Bonn!" I yelled. Then I covered my mouth. Bonn Bonn won't understand. I don't hear an answer. I sigh in relief.

Humans are predicted to have much greater technology than ponies, because they do not have magic and cannot live the way ponies do. Humans have things like what they call Phones and Computers. These devises can be used to contact other humans, and play different games on them. These are called, Apps. They may also search for information on these devises, they call this, internet. On this internet, they can share various pictures, and information to every other human.

This is so interesting already! How could ponies know so much though? We aren't known to investigate things like this. Where are the humans? Are they in an alternate universe?

I smiled. I love to learn about different things. But this information seems... false. What are you thinking? Wait, this can't be false. No pony could ever wright such lies in a whole book!

Oh... I'm over complicating this. But it's to much to be lies. How can this be?

I need to take walk with Bonn Bonn and clear my head.

"Bonn Bonn?" I yelled again.

"Yes?"

"Can we take walk together?"

"Sure, come on down!" Bonn Bonn said. I smiled, jumping of the bed. As I walked down the stairs, I found Bonn Bonn at the door, waiting. "I needed to get off my butt all morning. I haven't done anything," Bonn Bonn told me. I smiled at her.

As we headed for a trail down at the park by Fluttershy's house, I eyed Twilight's house. Bonn Bonn noticed.

"What's wrong?" She asked. I look at Bonn Bonn and smile.

"Nothing Bonn Bonn," I said to her. Bonn Bonn smiled and pointed to a trail leading into the ever free forest.

"I don't see why every one thinks it's so scary, I mean, if Zecora lives in there, then what's so bad about it?" Bonn Bonn asked. I shrugged.

"As long as nothing bad happens, I'm cool," I said. Bonn Bonn giggles. We walk into the trail. But we walk in silence through the forest.

thinking.

I turn the last page of my Anthropology book to find something blank. I guess that's all we know about humans. I write down the last of my notes, and close the book. But really, How did we find out about humans? Why do we only have this copy of the book? And why was it in Twilight's library? I have to get answers.

No one will know except Celestia.

"Bonn Bonn," I said. Bonn Bonn pauses the TV and looks at me.

"Yes, Lyra?" She asked. I look to her from my notes.

"I-I think that I'm going on a trip. To-to Canterlot," I stammer. Bonn Bonn's jaw drops.

"Can- can I come? Oh I've only been to Canterlot a few times... You used to live there, right?" Bonn Bonn asked. I nod.

"Well... Its just a quick stop by, I'm leaving tomorrow morning, and I'm coming back tomorrow night. It's just to see Princess Celestia," I told Bonn Bonn. She frowns.

"Is this about the book?" Bonn Bonn asked. I blush, looking down at my notes. My ears droop. "Oh, Lyra! This has been going on for weeks. You've been reading and re-reading that book for so long. You've been taking notes and... you even made a bulletin board!" Bonn Bonn explained. "Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked. My ears slowly rise. I nod. "Oh.... Okay."

* * * *

I lift my head off the window seal as Canterlot comes into view. The city seems so small from here, but I know that it's really big. As we get closer and closer, I can't hold in my excitement. The other passengers on the train don't even notice it, or me, for that matter.

As the train comes to a stop, I can here sliding doors open. I am the first to run off the train car.

"Oh, Celestia will answer all of my questions! Oh she will!" I said to myself. I run strait from the station onto the streets, and I see a taxi. "TAXI! TAXI!" I screamed. The taxi colt stopped and let me on. "To the castle, to Princess Celestia, here," I hand him four bits. He smiled and quickly built up speed. I'm at the castle in no time.

"Thank you, keep the change," I said to him. He waves good bye, but I quickly run to Celestia's throne room. Dodging the security guards. I push the castle door open, running to Celestia, and kneeling before her.

Hooves grab my arms tightly, almost picking me up. "Holt! You may let this are go, she will mean no harm," I hear Celestia say in a booming, yet regal voice. The hooves of the guards let me go, and head back there posts. "You may rise," Celestia told me. I rise, seeing her long flowing mane make's me aw struck. "Yes, what is it that you want? I have a kingdom to rule," Celestia told me. I shake my head to clear it, then I pull out my Anthropology book.

"Yes, um, your grace, so um... I have a few questions about... um... this," I let the book float over the her. She grabs the book with her magic, letting it float in her face.

"Yes, Anthropology-" She gasps. "You... you have... Guards, leave the room, leave your posts," Celestia orders. I watch them leave cautiously before letting my eyes drift back to Celestia. I hear doors shut.

"So-"

"How did you get this book?" She asked. I shrug.

"I bought it at Twilight's library, it seems like the only copy and Twilight had no idea it was there. I thought that the name just looked interesting," I explained. Celestia sighs in relief, her muscles relaxing.

"Thank goodness," She mumbles. Then she realizes that I'm still here. "Oh, right... um, come with me," She said. She teleports us to a small room, with a mirror. "State your name," Celestia said. I nod.

"My name is Lyra Heartstrings, I live in ponyville, and I am in love with Humans," I tell her. Celestia smiles. "Well, more intrigued with there fingers, and hands and the way there are, it's fascinating!" I exclaimed. Celestia chuckled.

"Well, I guess you finished the book, and your the only one who has ever read this, so I won't panic. Now, this mirror, it is a portal to the human realm. Why am I telling you this? Because I can only guess that you're curios. I am permitting you permission to use this when ever you like, since I have a way for you to get through whenever you want. So, once you get through this thing, you will become a human-" I jump up and down.

"I'm going to be a human? Oh my god! Oh my god! OH MY GOD! Yes!" I dance around in a circle, but stop. "Wait, were you the one who wrote this book?" I ask, pointing to the book. Celestia nodded.

"Though I'm not quite sure how it got to Twilight's place, but, anyway, I need to tell you something, once you get through, there will be an alternate you. This is an alternate universe, so there will be an alternate version of you, your friends, and every pony that lives. Including me, and Luna. Now, I'm sure you would like to study this, so I will give you this book back, let you keep your bag, and you can go and explore this human world. Now, as long as you have that book with you at all times, you can come in, and out of the portal as much as you want," Celestia explained. I smile. Jumping from hoof to hoof.

"I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready!" I tell Celestia. She smiles and pushes me closer. I put one hoof in, then two, then I pull both out and jump in.

At first, it feels like I'm jumping into a pool, and I can't breathe under water. Then, it's feels like I'm being pulled apart, watching a rainbow flash in my brain, I see nothing but color, and change. I try to scream but I can't, finally, I feel my hooves touch concrete, no, my fleshy hands!

Humans all around are walking in and out of what looks like a high school.

I stand up, on two legs only, and look at myself. I'm wearing base tight pants, and a green blouse. My blouse has a picture of my cutiemark on it. I look at other humans, and see that they are all wearing there cutiemarks. But humans don't have cutiemarks... do they? I humans wear clothes regularly too. I then look down at my blouse again and see something strange. But, in public, I don't know if this is smart. I walk into the school, trying to find a bathroom.

"Hi, Lyra," I hear Bonn Bonn's voice.

"Bonn Bonn? But you didn't... right! the alternate thing!" I say to myself. Bonn Bonn finds me.

"Okay, it's lunch break, and guess who just asked me out to the fall dance?" Bonn Bonn asked. I smile, listening, thinking that this would be weird if I acted like I didn't know what she's talking about.

"Who, who? Oh my god tell me!" I said.

"Like, Thunderlane totally asked me to go to the dance!" Bonn Bonn told me. I smile, trying to remeber who that is, then... it hits me. He's a Pegasus in my world, but I guess he's a human only in this world. At least I know who these people are. Okay, now I know why this is so surprising to Bonn Bonn.

"Like seriously? What did you say?" I asked. Bonn Bonn bite's her lip.

"I said that I had to think," She said. I frown.

"Oh but Bonn Bonn, go talk to him, say yes! say yes! Totally!" I encourage her. "I'll be in the mare...ladies room, now go,"  I told her. Bonn Bonn nods and runs down to a locker with someone who looks like Thunderlane.

"Okay, where are the restrooms?" I ask myself. I run to what looks like a restroom, to see a men's picture. I look down the hall to see a woman's room. I run down to ope the room. I see an open stall and casually walk in there.

I lock the stall, and find two hooks. I pull my blouse off, to see I'm wearing some sort of... holder for a part of my body. I look and see that these are not what I thought. I need to find a woman's anatomy book from this school library. I pull my blouse back on, and realize that I dropped a bag. It's holding my book, and... school supplies. Apparently I'm a student.

I decide to put it on my shoulders, and open the stall. I find Bonn Bonn waiting by the sinks. I turn on the water, realizing how weird it is to use my hands, and put them in it. It feels kind of good. I push a small button that probably hold liquid soap, and rub my hands together, copying another girl's actions. I rinse them off, and pull a towel, that apparently goes in the trash, and dry my hands.

"So, what did he say?" I ask Bonn Bonn, thinking that it's the only thing I can ask her.

"He said that it was fine, and we are going to the dance together!" Bonn Bonn exclaimed. I smile at her.

"That's great, hey, um, I forgot where the library was, could you show me?" I ask. Bonn Bonn laughs.

"Okay, sure, I guess. But, come one, it's lunch break, I'm sure your starving, being since you had Math before this," Bonn Bonn says. I realize that sitting on that train made me hungrier than I realized. I nod, hearing my stomach rumble.

"I really don't feel like school lunch right now, so how about we go out and have Taco Bell!" Bonn Bonn says. I have no idea what that is, but it seems like some restaurant, so I'm down with it. I nod. "Okay, I'm driving. And, you want your usual, right?" Bonn Bonn asks. I nod again, not knowing what that means.

I look in the mirror and take in all my beautiful human features before leaving with Bonn Bonn for lunch.

Bonn Bonn opens a door to some machine that has wheels. She hops in and closes the door, putting keys into a small hole that turns and an engine starts.I smile at this machine. It's so interesting. Bonn Bonn pushes a button that make a pain of glass disappear.

"Well, what are you waiting for? We don't have all day, get in on the other side," Bonn Bonn tells me. I nod, walking over to the other door, copying her actions by pulling, jumping in, and pulling again. Then Bonn Bonn puts on a rope-like devise around her torso and makes a click with a red and black box. I do the same. This is so exciting.

I watch Bonn Bonn fidget with things, and watch as the machine moves and let's us go where ever Bonn Bonn is taking us. Then Boon Bonn drives up to a speaker by a building a menu.

"Welcome to Taco Bell, how can I help you?" A man's voice asks. I smile. Bonn Bonn speaks up.

"Okay, can we have one chicken chalupa, and one extra cheese bean burrito?" Bonn Bonn asks the speaker box. The man repeats her order and instructs Bonn Bonn to head up to the window. A man give Bonn Bonn a bag of food, and Bonn Bonn gives the man a card. The man swipes it quickly, pushing a few buttons, and hands that card back. Huh. Interesting.

Bonn Bonn hands me the bag, and I grab in from her. We leave the side of the building and head back to the school.

"Can you hand me the burrito?" Bonn Bonn asks. I search look in the bag to find something wrapped up that looks like a cylinder. I don't know what it is but I give it to her. "Thanks, you can start eating too," She tells me. I grab the other wrapped item and unwrap it. It's like a hexagon made of food. I take a bite and moan. This is by far the best food I have ever tasted. Bonn Bonn looks at me.

"You seem to like it," Bonn Bonn says. I smile at her.

"The teacher was really mean today, it made me seriously hungry," I tell Bonn Bonn. Bonn Bonn laughs.

"Mr. Pathing is always mean. Guess he was angry today," Bonn Bonn says before taking a bite from her burrito.

I take another bite and nod. Then I realize that this holds chicken. Ponies never eat chicken... but I'm not a pony. Like the book said, humans are omnivores. This is going to be so great! Being a human is awesome. I've never eaten meat, not to mention cooked meat, but dang is it good!
