When Twilight and her friends made it back to town, their first priority wasn't to get warm, but to notify the princesses as soon as possible. This entailed, keeping the town calm, making sure Everypony was safe, and protecting the town from that.... Abomination!

Twilight burst through the door with no hesitation, snow falling into the treehouse, deciding not telling Spike was the best course of action she immediately grabbed the paper and ink quill. Sloppily writing down what had happened, Twilight realized she needed to ask Spike to send it. And he was curious, more than likely going to want to read it.

"Ah hay." Twilight cursed under her breath, rolling it up. Taking a deep breath she went to wake up Spike, still cold as she walked up the stairs,

"Spike!" She called out. A small yawn was heard, before a frustrated groan and a moan of protest,

"Spike?"

"Yes Twilight?" The baby drake grumbled, rubbing his eyes, and sitting up,

"Is it morning all ready?" He asked almost grumpily,

"No I just need you to send this." Said Twilight motioning towards the letter she had, being tired Spike didn't think much of it and just wanted to get back to bed. Complying he sent it, before slamming back down into a sleep.

Twilight grinned, that had been easy enough. Removing the device she had claimed earlier, she crept into a secluded room. She had naught an idea what horrors lay in wait....

Berry punch danced on the outskirts of town, drunk as all hell. She was trying to sing something. But all that came out was unintelligible mumbles, and a bit of ear rape. Non the less, she was drunk and her decision making was worse than usual. Consuming more of her drink she practically toppled over. Suddenly she heard a thump.

Stopping her dancing, she tried to analyze the sound further, but was stopped by the sound of her dropping her glass. Cursing she reached to down to try to grab her broken glass. She was drunk, and didn't realize the glass had shattered. Cutting herself she let out a small yelp that was interrupted by a hiccup. Giving the shattered appliance a sad look before starting to sing again.

She had forgot about the thump.

"Can you please keep it down?!" Shouted an angered voice from one of he many thatched houses, the pony got no response so went back to bed.

Berry suppressed some laughter, for an odd reason she just wanted to laugh now. Suddenly a low hiss grace her floppy ears, and she quickly turned to the source. Nothing but darkness graced her. She cocked her head to the side, not knowing what made the noise,

She screamed. Nopony cared, just thinking she saw another creature of the night that startled her. Berry was gone, and the only thing that indicated where she was last, was a broken glass with a small trace of blood...

Twilight gasped in shock once more, her face almost entirely green. She had seen than more than she bargained for.

"And now for our next subject." Said the creature, that she had come to know as Dr. Wilchynski. Dr. Witchy ski then revealed what he so eagerly wanted to present to the camera. Twilight almost barfed at what she saw next.

It was a horse, not as smart as them clearly, but still. Something that resembled them so closely hurt her more. How did this doctor think he was helping anyone? It just didn't compute or click with Twilight. She cringed as the equine cried out in pain, and suddenly it let out its final neigh, before a much larger creature feel onto the floor,

"Oh well.... That's all the time we have for today. See you tommorow. Weyland Yutani, building better worlds." Dr. Wilchynski said before stopping the recording. Twilight almost shed a tear. Whoever that man was, he deserved a painful death. She grimaced before hiding it away. She had learned many things, things that she needed to know. Along with things she didn't want to know.

Deciding she'd need some rest, she warily headed to her room. She plopped spoon on her bed, the humdrum nature now gone once more, and soon she drifted into a deep sleep knowing that Nopony would be hurt by that thing..... She was dead wrong....

Black dragged his victim to the shadows, her cries forever silenced. He let out a low hiss, tossing the body into the snow. His caution had risen after the first encounter, and sunlight now was his main enemy. His instincts told him to kill them all now, while they were venerable. What was the fun in that? He had no queen, and  HAD free will. He would toy with them, kill them slowly. Then he would move on.

Berry's body was already covered in frost, and was almost lost in the continuous snow. Black hissed, returning to his home in the forest. Searching for a few minutes, he found a good place to lay dormant. Letting out a low hiss, Black sat in the shadow of the crevice.

He was invisible to anything passing by, and sooner or later they would come, and regret it. Not to mention he had seen a small cottage not to far away, perhaps his next victim lay there...

Twilight woke with a start, sweating profusely. She wiped her brow, and used her magic to float over her glass of water. She'd retrieved it about an hour after trying to go to bed, it soothed her nerves. Getting up, she decided getting the girls and telling the town while setting up defenses was the best option. She just needed to make sure the town didn't run and panic like headless chickens. She sighed.

Why did she have to watch any of what she did? It still sickened her. She still worried about what lurked outside, in wait, one with the shadows. She sighed again, it felt so dragged out... With her calculation it should be reached town by now. Maybe it went another way?

Either way it needed to be subdued, and Twilight knew it.

Growling to herself she started down the stairs, she could tell Spike was already up. As the sweet aroma of pancakes emanated from the kitchen. Twilight sighed, she was hungry.

Fluttershy fed her animals, the creature still fresh in her mind. She wanted to hide from just the thought of the giant. It looked like it could stare down a dragon without so much as a flinch. Trying to relax, she began to whisper to herself,

"It's ok Fluttershy, that big, scary, mean monster is gone..." She said to herself.

The butter Pegasus reassured herself for the entire time of feeding her animals, trying to keep from having yet another anxiety attack. She walked inside, before plopping down on the couch, and smiling.

Everything was going to be fine... Right? She hoped so, and suddenly her favorite bunny Angel came hopping up. She smiled once more and finally was able to fully relax...
