A Fierce Affairby WehrmachtPonyChaptersPrologue: Majora's DefeatChapter 1: Return of MajoraChapter 2: A Hero's ArrivalPrologue: Majora's DefeatFreedom... I wanted freedom from my mask. To be myself again, that was all I desired; to strike down Majora and save Termina, and redeem myself. I got my chance by the name of Link, a young hero from a land called Hyrule. When I felt the presence of Majora nearby, I called to the hero to use my powers; to put on the mask that held me. The hero heard my voice and then... I was free. Using the body of Link, I had been restored to my former self. In my hands, I gripped my time-tested Double Helix sword. I felt it pulsing with magic, ready to smite Majora once more. The blade was green and blue, and small blue ember-like magic particles emitted from it. I was ready, and I slowly approached my old foe once more, my slow steps and heavy Iron chestplate echoing in the tile-floored and surreal arena, lit with magical light. Suddenly, I paused, and the masks of four foul creatures that had once imprisoned the Giants inside of them, flew from me and attached themselves to the walls of the arena. The eyes of Majora's Mask began to glow, and then there was a great rumbling sound as Majora's Mask detached itself from the walls and began extending tentacles from behind its shell-like front. Majora was revived. Immediately I locked onto it and shot blue disks of pure magic power at it, first knocking it from the air and then sending it into a wall, causing a great deal of damage to the Mask. However, my concentration was broken when the masks of the four creatures, Odolwa, Gyorg, Goht, and Twinmold came off from the walls and began to shoot spheres of magic energy at me. "You really think that's going to stop me? I'm disappointed at you, Majora! You never used trickery like this when we fought long ago!" I cried as I aimed at the masks and shot them down quickly with my own magic. "Times have changed, and you are far too old and far too weak to defeat me," responded Majora. Majora's Mask then turned on it's side and attempted to try and knock me off my feet, but I was too smart to fall for that trick and I ran away from him. "You flee from me like a coward, Deity! You can't possibly defeat me if you run!" said Majora in an attempt to deride me. "Come back and fight me like the warrior I know you to be!" "Then so it shall be!" I exclaimed. I showed no mercy for Majora, and I rushed at him, discharging magic from my sword. Majora's resistance to my power was so pitiful he could barely stay up. I kept launching volley after volley of magic disks o at him, and he was no match for me. Eventually, the mask let out a kind of 'OW' sound and flipped over and over in air, moving towards the center of the room. Majora was beaten up so much that he did another old trick: transforming into a new form. the mask then sprouted a pair of legs and arms, as well as a single, horned eye. Majora then swayed around and made a series of nonsensical high-pitched chants before taking off and sprinting around the room. Suddenly, Majora began performing an odd kind of dance and said, "I'm moonwalking on a moon, Michael Jackson can suck it!" I had no idea why he said that or who this 'Michael Jackson' person was, but nonetheless, I never faltered for a moment. Majora then began running around again, and when he paused to attack, I pummeled him relentlessly with magic from my sword and I he was sprawled at my feet, throwing a tantrum every time he took damage. Majora barely could get any distance from me when I knocked him down again and absolutely annihilated him, and I had defeated him in his second form in only minutes. "Too easy," I thought to myself. Then, with a high-pitched wail, he began shaking and convulsing And he moved to the center of the room. Sickeningly loud hearbeat like noises filled the air and his arms and legs began pumping up with more muscle and power, and a new head sprouted up, more complete but still retaining the single horned eye from his previous incarnation. It was Majora's Wrath, physically manifested. This was as closest form to the actual form of Majora I'd ever seen in this battle. Things became even more intense when Majora sprouted to extremely long whip-like appendages that could reach quite far; that worried me for a moment. However, Majora let out a not so impressive yelp that was supposed to be intimidating, but ended up sounding like he had tripped on a banana skin and was only minimally frustrated. "Remember me, Deity? When I last fought you, I talked JUST... LIKE... THIIIIIIIIIIIS!" Majora said, starting out with a normal voice which quickly rose into a ridiculously high and shrill voice. It was actually quite annoying, but it didn't faze me much. "Your absurd voice and whips will do little to deter me," I yelled strongly. I knew that if I caught Majora off guard, I could get in and strike hard. I waited for Majora to strike first and when he was about to hit me, I hit him. The first magic attack that hit him stunned him, but the second one did some damage. However, Majora did an impressive flip and dodged my other attacks and attempted to hit me with with his whips. I barely dodged and I kept my eyes on Majora. When Majora got close again, I attacked and stunned him with another blast of magic from my sword, and then hit him twice before he flipped away in retreat and released a few bladed tops to try and hit me. The stupid little tops were useless, for I could drive them back with my sword. I repeated the process of attacking Majora once more... then... victory. With an ear-piercing wail, Majora swayed around and its body flew up into the air and to the center of the room. "It isn't over yet, Deity! I will have my reveeeeeeeeeeeeenge!" Majora wailed as the room began vibrating violently and Majora's solid form began disappearing in a blindingly bright white light. As everything whited out, Majora's last line echoed in my head. I knew he was defeated for now, but I had to put an end to him permanently. I knew he would return, if not to here then somewhere else, and I knew had to follow. However, I was still imprisoned in the mask, confined to it, bound to it by the Giant's magical seal. Hopefully the young hero who had donned my mask could help me in my quest to save the innocent lives that Majora threatened with his evil and despicable schemes. "Hear me again, Link, hear me again..." Chapter 1: Return of MajoraHow wonderful, defeated again by my cursed rival, the Fierce Deity. He always was ruining my plans, like a bothersome parent always coming in and checking on their child, making sure you it doesn't cause trouble. I hate that Deity. Regardless, my plans for Termina were out of the window and a complete wash, like a sand message written on the beach of Great Bay. However, I still had enough power to leave that pitiful land, and since I was free of the mask, I was free to go somewhere else, wherever I chose. Using the, 'who cares take me anywhere' method, I soon arrived in another land, a strange land; one that was simply oozing with magic power that I could draw upon and use. I used the ambient magic to fashion a mask just like the one I had been once imprisoned in and flew around, inspecting the new land I was to destroy, drawing more magic as I went, quickly beginning to regain the strength I had lost. The inhabitants made me laugh, for they were ponies, of all styles sizes and colors, but most were just as a bit taller than the Skull Kid I had once possessed. However, they all possessed a fundamental and very basic understanding of using magic, which made me even more excited. "If I could just find one more capable wielder of magic and one less weak... Yeeeeeeeees... I think I can restart," I thought to myself. There were few to choose from. One pony I found was called Trixie, and she seemed like a potential candidate, until i discovered that she actually was very poor at using magic, and her weakness were far too many... no, she could not be the one. There was another, a Princess Celestia, who was a ruler of the land and had great magical prowess and was fairly strong, but she lacked the same characteristics of me, she would be too difficult to control. But then... there was her younger sister, Princess Luna. She was younger, just as strong and I also sensed she had a root of evil in her heart, one that hadn't been drowned in the sickening floods of magic of love, caring, and friendship. It was her I chose to by my host, and she would serve nicely... Meanwhile, in Termina... __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It was done. Majora had been defeated, and Termina was saved. Tatl and I had parted ways, and I was riding off to find my way back to Hyrule. I thought my journey was done, and that it was time to head back to Hyrule. I remembered that I had entered Termina through a strange passage that had led to the Clock Tower, so that was my destination. "Hiyah!" I yelled as I prompted Epona to go faster. I rode for the Clock Tower and entered Clock Town through the South Gate. I burst into the tower riding Epona, and, to my surprise, the Happy Mask Salesman was there. I dismounted and looked at him curiously. He let out his trademark creepy chuckle and said with a disturbing grin, "I knew you could do it! You believed in your strengths, and you have gotten my mask back. And, my... you sure managed to make a great deal of people happy," said the Happy Mask Salesman. However, his grin suddenly changed to a frown and he said, "But something is wrong: even though you have done what you set fourth to do, I sense that you have one more adventure ahead of you. Go, and begin your new adventure." As soon as I turned back to where he was, he and Epona were gone. I was concerned about Epona's safety, but when I heard a loud grinding noise, I quickly rushed to the source and found the large stone door that had blocked my path to Hyrule had been opened. I hesitated for a moment, but then, I went it. However, something familiar happened: I fell down a seemingly bottomless pit. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" I yelled. "Not again!" I thought. Meanwhile, In the Canterlot Palace Gardens... __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I was very excited as I put myself down just a few feet from where she was walking. Suddenly, I heard footsteps. I then saw a large blue pony walk up to me. Yes, everything was going according to plan... First, I'd slowly gain her trust, get underneath her guard and then, when the time was right, I would convince her to don me and my restoration would be complete and I could carry out my real intention: destroying this land like Termina! I was very satisfied, for I knew that no one could lay a hoof or finger on me, even her older sister couldn't stop me, I was more powerful the both of them combined and anything else in this land. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now this was strange, a mask was lying right in the middle of a path in the Palace Gardens. "How did this get here?" I asked myself. Suddenly, I felt a strong urge to pick it up, so I picked up the mask and then got an idea to try it on. I did, and it was a perfect fit! I then took it off and became very suspicious. Something wasn't right, this was no ordinary mask... I had put it on with out any car or prudence at all, but I became confused and didn't really know what to do. I decided that I would put it in the Royal Vault so that nopony else could get their hooves on it. However, I felt something starting to grow in m, something that I hoped had been erased from my heart: my hate of ponies for not loving me and my moon. "I can help you," said a strange and powerful voice in my head. I yelped and dropped the mask. "My name is Majora, and I can help you with your problem..." said the voice again, which sounded like it was coming from the mask. "You... can?" I asked suspiciously. "Yes, put me on and I will take care of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall your problems..." said the mask. Chapter 2: A Hero's ArrivalPrincess Luna put then put then mask on, and I could feel her every emotion and hear her every thought, it was good to be back again! "Very good," I replied. "Now what, Majora?" asked Luna. "Oh, uuuuuuuuuuuuuh... nothing. Why don't you take me back to your room? I think I might like it in there," I said. Off to a rough start, but then again, her role would end soon. "LUUUUUUUUUUUUNA!" said a voice. "COMING!" said Luna. She began rushing towards a pony whom I recognized to be Princess Celestia. Wonderful. My powers would stick out like a sore thumb to her and others. Of course, Celestia got suspicious right away as soon as she laid eyes on me. I was going to petrify her someday just for the look of distrust she gave me. "Luna... where'd you get that mask?" asked Celestia, still giving me a look so intense that would freeze a large Dodongo in its tracks. "Nowhere..." I made Luna say with out her realizing it. Celestia at first didn't seem to buy it, but she then said, "Well, then take it off. I sense an evil in it, one that manipulates, corrupts... Luna, you should never have picked up that mask, wherever you got it. Take it off, and put it somewhere safe." As Luna turned away, I saw Celestia say something before leaving to return to the throne room. "Come, Luna, do as your sister bids. I shall be fine, I have... other things I can do while you are absent," I said. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Grass. That was the first thing I felt, as sure as my name was Link. When, I opened my eyes, I observed I was in a small clearing in the middle of a forest, one that reminded me of the Lost Woods. And I certainly was lost, didn't know where I was. Was I in Hyrule again? Or was I somewhere else? I knew I had to find out, and the trees looked too big to climb, and doubted my hookshot could latch on to anything, all the trees branches were too high up. Looks like I would have to find my way out. I searched though my masks and items which I still had somehow and found what I was looking for: the Bunny Hood. I put it on and my intuition told me to go right. I did and I soon came across a path, one that looked well worn. However, I felt something. Something sad, something lonely. I suddenly felt it necessary to grab the Lens of Truth. I dug through my masks and items, found it, and when I brought it up to my eye, I saw the translucent white figure of a small equine with a small horn coming from its head, barely shorter than I, hovering a few inches off the ground, staring directly at me. "You... can you see me?" the equine asked. "Yes," I said, not questioning the fact that I rarely ever spoke and had just suddenly openly replied to someone. "I can help you... but... will you help... me?" the equine asked. "Yes, I will help you," I said. "Good... You wish to find your way out of Everfree Forest? Then follow me. Do not get separated from me, for the the path is long, dark, and treacherous," said the equine. Using the Lens of Truth, I followed the equine down the path. Everything seemed ruffled and displaced, wild, free to move and grow as it pleased: this forest was not the Lost Woods. The place had a very strange and ominous feeling to it, one that I can't quite can't describe. Everything seemed to be dark and mysterious, and the trees and underbrush concealed many creatures, and I knew that a few creatures were following us, but I didn't speed up or slow down. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I knew that this was the place that Majora had fled. I could sense he had been in this forest. However, I was still confined to the mask. If only I could break free... there was enough magic, but if only it could be channeled... ah, but now was no the time. However, I felt that there was something I could to help the young hero... "Can you hear me, Link?" I asked, hoping my once silent voice could be heard. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Did you say something?" I asked the spectral pony in front of me. I had heard something, almost like ti was voice in my head, but it was though someone had spoke to me from behind me. "No," it replied. "I'm pretty sure you said, 'can your hear me, Link?' It must've been you!" I repeated, trying to find an explanation as to what had happened. "It was not me," the pony replied quietly. I shook my head, pulled out my ocarina and began playing an old song that I had learned from a friend. "Your instrument... your song... it reminds me of the forest..." said the equine. "I like it. So happy, so... lively..." The equine suddenly stopped and bade me sit. I sat on a stone and the equine sat down in its haunches and it let out what I would call a wistful sigh (if spirits could sigh). "Not long ago I was once alive like you, but older, and I came to this wood to fight off an evil force that made the forest hostile. I found it lurking in the ancient and abandoned castle of the alicorn sisters, but I was no match for it. It was a strange and large being that wielded a large sword and shield. My magic had little effect and I could barely land any hits with my sword before I was undone by it. I now have wondered the forest ever since, looking for someone who could defeat the evil that plagues the forest. I have found you, and I believe you can help this land. But, now... I am alone, and you cannot defeat the monster as you are... if only you could be like me. Not matter, I just wish my soul could be healed. Yes, just peace... can you give me that, strange traveler of time and space? Can you heal my sorrows and relieve my of this world?" the equine. I knew what to do. I put my Ocarina to my mouth and played a song that I now knew by heart. The equine then said, "That song... yes... Thank you, traveler..." The equine began to fade and soon, it had vanished. Suddenly, a new mask fell to the forest floor. It had the face of the equine. "I leave my feelings and tasks to you, stranger," echoed the voice of the equine. I picked up the mask, and I knew it was a powerful mask. A transformation mask. There was only one thing I really thought of doing; Putting on the mask. I put it on and felt the familiar sensation of transformation. I screamed, and...
