Shining Armor is the family oriented captain of the guard, tough as nails to his men. One such man, or stallion, is Flash Sentry, Manehatten native constantly going against superior orders in seek of what's right. Big Macintosh is a mild mannered farmer who occasionally dishes right-wing justice to the undesirables of Ponyville. Blueblood is the nephew of Celestia, constantly showing himself off, with the baby face of a politician with a good make-up artist. Filthy Rich is a rich neglectful business tycoon, with money being thrown in his face constantly. And finally, Soarin is a loyal and goodhearted, if not at times light headed, member of the Wonderbolts.
These six stallions may appear completely different, but they are all pulled together into the middle of Canterlot when the corpse of Filthy Rich's daughter is found hung on the Celestia statue. In a whirlwind of murder, mystery, suspicion and deceit, Flash, Mac and Soarin go off jurisdiction in a hunt for the killer, while Shining, Filthy and Blueblood are left with the dirty side of murder, the politics.
