"Rainbow, I don't know how long I can hold them back for!" Twilight's breath seemed shallow.
"We just need to fly out of here, come on Twilight!" Rainbow hunched down waiting for the purple mare to hop on her back.
"We have to save our friends!" With one last blast of her magic, the horde in front of the two ponies fell.
"Twilight, I am not losing you again! Let's go..."
***
Six Hours Earlier
Three knocks on the door to the library was all it took to get Twilight to forget her studies. "Who wants in at this time of day?" She looked to the clock, which intern showed 6:00 AM.
Three more knocks came from the door before Twilight could answer it. "Coming!" She opened the door to be met by a small green dragon. "Spike, you know you don't have to knock when you live here."
"Well, that's the news. I have finally decided to move in with Shelly." Shelly was a young dragon like Spike whom had recently moved to Ponyville. "I know, you're going to say that I am just a baby dragon, and shouldn't do something like this. This, Twilight, is what I want to do, as I am no longer a baby dragon."
"Spike, I understand what your saying, and want you to live with her."
"I knew you would say that! Twilight I will do what I....wait, what?" Spike had one of the biggest confused looks ever.
"You are old enough to live on your own now, and I believe you should move towards your own life." Twilight had a small tear that fell from her eye to the floor. "I have known you a long time and this won't be easy...but you know I have faith in your decision."
"Twilight." The dragon ran and hugged onto the mares front leg. "Wont you be lonely when I am gone?"
The unicorn had moved her head around the dragon, as if to give him a hug. "You know I wont be lonely, I still have Rainbow Dash."
At this point Rainbow was standing behind the two hugging friends, not sure if they knew she was there. Did...did you need something Twilight?" The cyan mare choked on her words, finding them hard to say. The years that they have all lived in the library drew them closer together, so even the most awesome of ponies was having a hard time.
"Rainbow, I was wondering if you could help with packing Spikes stuff." Of all ponies, Twilight was unable to think of a word better than "stuff". Maybe she should of said personal belongings, but in the moment it was too hard.
Rainbow watched as the two friends parted from their hug, and walked towards the only object Spike had really left in the library, and that was his old bead.
"I don't know if you need that, Spike. You know you have grown in size since you started dating that other dragon." Twilight was barely able to speak, but forced herself to talk.
Spike walked over to the table Twilight used to study and read from. "What is pheromone 115?"
NO
More forgiveness
NO
and the reason is
I know I wont die alone
-
"I read up on a pheromone used back in the older days. This pheromone was used...to bring the dead back to life." Twilight tried not to look at her friends as she spoke. "There is an island, in the west. On this island there is said to be many ponies that where brought back to life with the pheromone. I wanted to learn about it, and see why no pony has used it since."
Rainbow cut in, "And that reason is?"
"The ponies it was used on never came back the way the creators of the pheromone intended. Instead of being natural to the world and use their brains, they just went insane. A carnivorous side came out as they went insane, too. Many of the creators lost their lives to the ponies they had once loved. Further studies showed that there is only one way to stop the zom...insane." Twilight was avoiding the word as much as possible, thinking of it made her shudder.
"So why are you studying this scary stuff?" Rainbow pushed her muzzle into Twilight mane, followed by laying her head against the other mare.
"Yea, and what is the only way to stop these...zombies?"
At the mentioning of the word Twilight shuddered again. "The thing is, is that the island that the pheromone was used on, is the one Rarity and Fluttershy are taking their first honeymoon on."
Both Rainbow and Spike jumped to what Twilight said. "The other thing is how you stop the zombies. The only way to do so is to destroy the brain."
"We need to save them!" Rainbow jumped into the air about to fly out the door, only to be stopped by Twilight biting onto her tail.
"We can't go onto that island without wearing these." Twilight went into a closet and pulled out two bio hazard uniforms. "We can't just walk onto the island without these uniforms, as the pheromone could have been spilled. I wouldn't want to be in a funeral when the pony that has died comes back to life."
"What about Rarity and Flutter? Won't the pheromone affect them if it has spilled?" Spike spoke up, to make sure he was heard.
"There is some good news, though. If the pony has not passed away before, or after being in contact with 115, than they can be cured."
"And what do you reckon can save them, what is the cure?" Rainbow was once again on the ground,
"The pheromone that is used to cure 115, is numbered as 120. This other pheromone will attack any signs of 115, and is, better yet, easy to come by."
"Well if your going to save our friends, then I am coming wi..." Spike was cut off by Twilight's hoof on his mouth.
"No your not. You are staying with Shelly."
"Now that we have that, can we get moving?" Rainbow was holding a bio hazard uniform.
"You are staying here to Rainbow." Twilight used her magic to place the uniform back into the closet. "I don't want to risk any other ponies lives."
-
and everyone dies, and
everyone lies,
They're waiting for the second coming again,
Everyone tries to hold onto their lives,
When no one's alive,
Bring me 115
-
"No Twilight, you are not leaving without me! Remember what I said when we started dating." Both ponies said the same line like an echo: "No matter where you go, what you do and suffer, I will always be there for you."
"I don't want to lose you again, not...n..not again." Twilight felt a hoof pull her chin up.
"You never lost me last time, you lost yourself. The only thing you needed was a sign that it was all worth it, and do you remember what I said that time?"
"I don't think you said anything." Twilight was looking deep into Rainbow's eyes for the answers. Instead of finding it in her eyes, she found them on her lips. Dash pulled the other mare into a kiss, one that was strong. It wasn't long until they pulled apart, still wanting more. "Oh...that's what you said." Twilight gave a sheepish smile. "Nothing can best a pony that is so awesome."
"Kiss ass."
"Shut it, Spike!" Rainbow sneered.
Twilight blushed at the remark, and thought of a way to mess with the dragon. "Maybe I like to kiss ass." Rainbow knew almost instantly that it was a joke and laughed. The same wasn't for Spike who ran out of the library with a "Please don't visit if you say that again!"
***
"Rainbow, it burns, it burns bad." Twilight lay on the ground holding her horn after using her magic to its full potential.
"Come on, we'll save Rarity and Flutter, but don't leave my side." Rainbow helped the unicorn up.
"Trust me, I'm not going far. I believe they stayed in the old cabin over there!" Twilight pointed a hoof in the direction.
She wasn't wrong. On arrival of the cabin they found the two mares, one of kindness, and the other of generosity.
"Who, who are you!" Rarity couldn't recognize Rainbow or Twilight as the suits they wore hid their faces and color.
"Rarity, come with us, we..."
***
The time was flying by, or was that because they where flying in the air? Twilight was on Dash's back, hugging around the pegasus's neck. They had left soon after Spike ran off from the library.
The air was light, and made it hard to breath.
Getting there, let alone halfway, was a real strain for Rainbow's wings. She was used to taking Twilight out into fields and flying, but never for three hours straight. Three more hours is what Twilight guessed, but wasn't sure. "So, why did you start reading all of that stuff?" Rainbows voice made Twilight hold on tighter.
"Well, I...I was just wondering what the place was like." She lied, the truth was she was only days from taking Rainbow to the island; if it was worth it. There was another reason for wanting to take her there, but she wasn't ready to admit it.
"If you say so. Some times you make me wonder. That is why I love you so much." Rainbow looked back over her shoulder at the purple unicorn.
"Yea, well that's why I make you wonder. When you wonder about something, you get a look on your face that is just too cute." Twilight blushed, laying her head against Rainbow's back.
"Don't try and make me blush, Twilight." The two of them laughed, which was drowned out by a light snore. Jeez Twilight, did you study THAT much about this...115?
Chilling air and rolling breezes kept waking the sleeping unicorn. She looked on as the island drew closer and closer. Something about the island made it look beautiful. She wasn't sure if it was the trees, mountain in the middle, or large amounts of vegetation. This didn't stop her from remembering how dangerous the island is.
"So Twilight, what is the actual name of this oh-so-dangerous island?" Rainbow startled the unicorn causing her to almost lose her grip.
"Oh, um, I never was told the name, but was often called Shi No Numa for some reason." Twilight regained her grip, slightly choking Rainbow.
"That is a very weird name for an island. I just hope things go over smoothly." There was a sign of concern on the pegasus.
"When did you become so worried about an island?"
"The fact that our friends are in danger, Twilight, why else?"
"Yea, your right about that."
-
You stand for nothing, and
overlooked something,
I'll bring you down all on my own,
I'm the end, I can taste it,
I'll justify hatred,
I am the chosen one,
left hand of all that's sacred..
-
Sand surrounded the island, creating what seemed to be a rippling effect that carried above the ground. Years of waves and tides have noticeably started to decay the dirt. Most of the vegetation was a dark green, and had no other color affiliated with it other than the random rose patch. At the center the island had a steep incline that made what looked like a mountain with a flat top. Some places below the mountain where small ponds of water, that miniature waterfalls poured into.
About a mile into the island there was a small circle of buildings that looked to be cabins. In the middle was what looked like a barn; paths leading from it towards the outlaying cabins. "Rainbow, take us down here, this clearing would make a clean landing."
Rainbow pulled a hoof to her head in salute, "Yes, sir!" After a light landing, the duo looked around, hoping to not find any trace of these so called "zombies". All seemed clear for travel, and they headed toward the buildings.
Raining Teddy Bears (6:00: Fluttershy & Rarity)
(Skipping this chapter isn't bad, but there is a possibility of missing something important.)

No,
More forgiveness,
No,
I'll bring you death and pestilence,
I'll bring you down on my own.
I have returned!

A gloomy window shot rays of light into the yellow pegusus's face, waking her. She slowly lifted her head, looking around, then to her marefreind. Or is it marewife? It doesn't matter, what matters is who it is. The awake pony took a hoof and ran it down the white unicorns leg, which was wrapped around her. "Wake up Rarity, it's morning."
Rarity opened her eyes, being met by the other ponies gaze. "Fluttershy, what time is it?"
"It's six Rarity, I think we should get some breakfast before today's plans. If you wan't to...that is." Fluttershy was herself, shy even around her own wife. Or is it husband? It still doesn't matter.
"Oh darling, of course we should get breakfast. That is a great idea." Rarity gave her a short kiss, before heading to the bathroom. On normal days she would be in there for what felt like days, but since it was the second to last day on the island, it didn't really matter. A lady like class or no class, I just want to spend the day with the pony I love, no intrusions.
The first step outside was met by the bright sun. The windows inside may have seemed gloomy, but the sky has turned out to be worse. The first stop for the ponies, otherwise, was the barn. In the middle of the four cabins was the main barn. The barn was turned into a small hotel with a cafe on the ground floor. Cafe Shi was the name, which they found out meant Cafe Swamp.
A weird name for a cafe normally, but when it's located in the middle of a swamp there is a change for "normal". Inside where about seven other ponies, four at a single table, one cleaning the floor, and the other behind the register. Fluttershy and Rarity took the two pony seat near the four others. "Hello, welcome to Cafe Shi, what may I get you?'
"No menu?" Rarity was dumbfounded. No menu, what kind of cafe is this?
"Oh, sorry mam, this is not the best place for food. All we have are eggs and coffee, or orange juice...or water."
"Um, I'll just take a decaf coffee, what about you Flutter?"
"Just some orange juice, thank you." She waited for the waiter to break her smile. The room was otherwise quiet, except for the four others.
"What do you mean the pheromone could be here in this dimension? Also, why are we ponies?" One of them seemed very angered. "Don't speak of this now, we can't have others worrying."
There was a short wait for the drinks, as that is all they ordered. In the midst of waiting, they began to hear strange noises from the top floor of the barn.
The room was starting to get quiet, more awkward than natural. It might have been because one of the four ponies was staring at the two mares. Rarity broke the silence, as to ignore these rude ponies. "So Fluttershy, you never really told me about your first dates, did you? If you don't mind me asking who they where of course."
"Oh, um, I never really...I have never dated anypony else." Fluttershy spoke from behind her hair.
"Well sometimes a change is good, right?" Rarity took one of her marefriends hooves into her own.
"Yea, I guess your right...did you hear that sound too?" The two looked up at the ceiling, the sound growing louder, until a faint scream. "Oh my, what...what was that?"
"Regi, who had the upstairs room?" The cashier said.
"Um, some random stallion, I think his name was something like Dr. Fredrick. What ever kind of name that is."
"Well, we can't leave our post here, so who here is willing to check up on him? How about you two, as these four haven't been around here for long."
"No thanks, I think...." Fluttershy was cut off by Rarity, "Of course we will, I think his attitude need dealt with if he is going to be rude like that." She stood up, noticing how scared the pegasus was. "Oh Fluttershy, nothing bad will happen, just stay close to me, ok?"
Slowly the two made their way to the register to pay for the drinks, grabbed the spare room keys, and headed upstairs. The closer they got, the louder the noise was heard. After an unsure look towards her marefriend, Rarity slid the key into the door, unlocking it. Before she opened it she knocked, asking if everything was alright. No answer. She opened the door slowly, and the sounds from the room stopped. The next sight was the worst for the ponies. Within the room where at least three broken windows, a crushed lamp shade, and a pony, hanging from the ceiling. A rope was tied around its neck, and below it was a small line of blood.
In the blood where words, that intern showed: Welcome to Shi No Numa, Swamp of the Dead!
The two ponies screamed in horror as they ran from the room, about falling down the steps.
And everything dies,
look to the skies,
to see the end of all creation again,
See with your eyes,
my army of flies,
when no one's alive.
Bring me 115!
-
"Wait, did you just say that the pony hung itself?" The two made it into the cafe, and explained what they had seen. At least from Rarity's point of view as Fluttershy was still freaking out. The four that where at the table earlier had cleared out, and left a pile of cups in the middle of the table.
Rarity took a deep breath before speaking again, "Yes, we entered the room, the window was broken, lamp crushed, and a pony was hanging from the ceiling. The worse part is below the pony was words written in blood, Welcome to Shi No Numa, Swamp of the Dead. "
"Alright, head back to your cabin while we put a call in for some emergency assistance. This hasn't happened in over thirty years."
[Author's Note: Sorry for another short, and fast chapter. The first four are really just explaining how it all started. When I get to chapter five, that is when things will look for the better side of the writing. Thanks for waiting, otherwise!]

I've lost all form and unity
where has my life gone
I'll bring you doom that you can see
and bring you down to see you bleed.
-
They sat huddled. No words exchanged between them as they can only see the body. Many questions floating through their heads. Why did that pony hang himself? Why did we have to see that? Where did those four stallions go?
A knock at the door, followed by a slam. "Who, who are you?" Rarity couldn't recognize Rainbow or Twilight as the suits they wore hid their faces and color.
"Rarity, Fluttershy, come with us! We need to get out of here!"
"No, I am not trusting anypony that has a bio hazard suit on!"
"Rarity, It's me, Rainbow Dash!" She removed the helmet of the suit and held her breath. Not long after replacing the helmet. "Twilight is right behind me, now lets go!"
"Why, wha-whats happening?" Fluttershy spoke quietly, and hid behind Rarity.
Twilight entered the room, looking over at a window she thought she could see a shadow in. "No time to explain, they might have followed us, now lets go!" The window she was looking towards shattered. "Zombie!" With a flash, Twilight shot a spear through its skull.
"Z...z...zombies?!" Fluttershhy muttered.
"Yes, now lets get out of here!" Twilight began to head towards the door, until being stopped by another pony.
"Ahem, my name is Edward Richtofen, and have some very interesting points to share with you." A dark green pony, with what looked to be a number for the cutie mark.
"Richtofen, I am not going to wait here with the zombies around, I need some bad ass gun or something before we do that!"
"Shut up Dempsey, we have no time for this!"
"Do we have time for Vodka?"
"Nikolai, there is NO TIME FOR THIS! Now you and Dempsey take Takeo over there somewhere while I get some info!"
"Um, Richtofen, right? What do you want, and do you know about these zombies?" Rainbow jumped in front of Twilight, as to protect her.
"Well, I know what is on a need to know basis, otherwise I need info first." He looked at her with a kind of psycho but yet sincere expression. "Tell me how to use this horn thing on my head, then I will tell you what you need."
"Magic, your horn is magic, just concentrate on it and think of what you want." Twilight spoke up, pushing rainbow to her side.
"Magic?! Oh the JOY! I can finally get us back and.."
"Before I explain anything else, let me know just what the hell is going on!" Twilight's horn began to glow.
"Well, let me just say that 115 has made it to your world. 115 was originally created by group 935 as a fuel for weapons. As a power source, it can affect anything. Transportation becomes possible through studies, death is a thing of the past, and weapons, like the Wunderwaffe DG-2, are super powered! It is the way of life for where I am from and...there is a zombie behind you."
Twilight spun around and launched a beam into the dead ponies chest, sending it flying. After a quick recharge, she shot one more time, to make sure it was finished.
"Now, like I was saying before my friend here got involved, 115 is an element. I don't know what you name it here, but it is by my knowledge, an element."
"So wait, It is an element like Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, and I?" Rainbow was confused even further.
"No Rainbow, we are elements of a type of emotion that involves friendship, 115 is a natural thing. An example, air, air counts as a natural element." Twilight looked from pony to pony, making sure they all heard her words.
"There is no time for this, as Tank is about to go a-wall if we don't hurry!"
"Tank, my turtle is here?" Why was Rainbow's turtle there?
"No you stu...pony, Tank is Dempsey, it is his nickname. Also, by the sound of it, we have some unwanted visitors."
"Why can't we just fly out of here Twilight?" Rainbow began to pick up the purple mare.
"Because I wont let you! You are now trapped with these disgusting traitors! I will not let you leave until they fall! You ponies will make a good addition to my collection!" A screeching female voice filled the ponies ears.
"Who-who was that?" Rarity had pulled Fluttershy closer to the other six ponies.
"That? That was Sam. Nothing to worry about, all we have to do is..." He ducked as a random pony leg swung over his head. Richtofen then turned and bucked the dead pony away from him. "If we can make it back to the other cabin, I believe we might have enough guns to suit everyone. How you hold them is not my problem, though."
The confusion grew as the ponies all ran from the dead menace. Something about the area rendered flying impossible, and the use of magic was limited. The horde was catching up. Eight ponies running in one group, what could go wrong.
Along with the echoing sound of dog barks, there where noises of screaming and bellowing. The noise was sickening, and most of them came from the zombies. Before reaching the halfway point, the ponies where all met by a group of the dark zombies. With as much energy as she could, Twilight blasted them all aside, causing the use to make her black out. Rainbow picked her up, and carried her across the scattered body parts and crushed zombie skulls. A truly sickening sight as what seemed to be gallons of blood, pouring from the necks. Normally it would be a crimson red, but now, now it was a dark maroon.
More questions shot through Rainbow's head, Where are they coming from? How did these stallion unicorns know where we were? Why is that voice able to take away my flying?
The light began to reappear for Twilight, as she lay across Rainbows back still. Words filling her ears. We are three fourths of the way there, just a few more minutes. Another voice, I think I might need some vodka after this! One that she could recognize as Dempsey's, Nikolai, that vodka will kill you someday. Back to the second voice, that is what I hope! Twilight could see what looked to be a dog chasing them. "D...d...do...dog!"
Takeo looked back, as he was running beside Dash and could hear Twilight. "That is not a dog, that is a blood hound!"
"Great, the joy is at an end, the cabin is right over here!" Richtofen took a turn to the cabin, followed by the other seven.
[Author Note: Sorry for one last short chapter. As for the shortness of this one, I hope to attempt a longer one next. Thusly, there you have it, how it all began in a short introduction. Zombies are appearing withing this chapter, and the entire team of ponies has been increased. Time for some epic sleep and some epic writing!]
