Life as the Outsider
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterToday's finally the day of takeoff. It seems that I've been stuck in a rut. I wake up, take a shower, eat cereal, contemplate on the day's happenings, go to work, come back and play video games or watch YouTube for the rest of the day. Rinse and repeat.
One day, a couple months ago, an old friend of mine invited me to his place for the summer, he gave me good reasons, and he even paid for my flight. What a guy. After a few years of just hanging out with a few local friends and coworkers, this break was really appreciated.
After the few months passed, and a one month vacation pass from my boss was granted leaving my friends Ross and Dan with twice the work, I was ready to leave. After packing a little collection of video games full of retro goodness and some other stuff he didn't have, I was on my way. A few hours passed between arriving at the airport and actually getting on the plane due to checks, and normal waiting periods. Everything that I gathered had been moved to the cargo hold, with the exception of my phone, laptop, and 3DS. Just as the plane was lifting off, I felt extremely tired, so I put in my headphones and put on some music. The song was so familiar to me, but I drifted off to sleep before I could think about it.
