Chapter 2: The New House

"Well here it is!" Twilight had opened the doors leading to a grand foyer. " We'll begin the tour in a moment. I need to check on a few things. Talk to the girls, ask questions, do whatever. Just keep yourself occupied for a while. Spike, come  with me."

As I gazed upon the excellency of the castle, I found a bench to rest. As I sat down, the girls started to crowd me. There was one problem. It seems that they were at a loss for words. This was getting very awkward, so I decided to start up a conversation. "So what should I know about you guys?" It seems that the unexpected question made them jump back a little. Pinkie made her way over to me, pulling a feather pen and a notebook out of her hair.

"Here. You're gonna need this." Oh boy. Homework...great. "As I told ya earlier, I'm Pinkie Pie! I help run the local bakery, Sugarcube Corner, along with the Cake family. But what I really, really, really love doing is organizing parties! I'm friends with everyone in Ponyville, and hope to make even more friends along the way!" She came up to me in a hush-hush tone, "Don't tell anyone, but I even have a file cabinet on everyone in town!" She backed away very quickly. "Alright, Applejack! It's your turn!"

"Howdy, Applejack here. What I do is run th' farm proudly named 'Sweet Apple Acres'! Any apple needs, ya know where ta find me. Also probably one of the strongest mares around. Gotta thank years of apple-buckin' for that." She called Rainbow Dash over to take her position.

"Sup? Name's Rainbow Dash, as you know, and I'm the weather pony around here." Wait, what? Just before she started again I managed to stop her in time.

"What does a weather pony do?" My mind had some ideas but nothing was finalized yet.

"A weather pony, depending on position can have many jobs. I look over the others and make sure they're doing their jobs right. The most noticable job is moving clouds around preparing rain, sun, snow, hail, and anything else. Why? Do you not have controlled weather from where you're from?"

"As convenient as that would be, no. The weather is based entirely on science stuff."

"Ok, Twi would love hearing about this, but let's get this over with. I'm also a Wonderbolts trainee, and a member of their private reserves. Next!"

Rarity gently walked towards me, head held high, and with a posh accent began her side. "Good evening, my name is Rarity, and I own the Carousel Boutique. The one place to go for your fashion needs, wants and haves. Ooh that's a good slogan! Write that one down for me, please." I flipped to the very back of the notebook where I could find the note easily next time she needed it. "I also run the shop myself, and I'm the seamstress for the place, too. I'm also the Ponytones' soprano voice." Wow, what a worker.

She motioned for Fluttershy to come over and she did so, obediently. "Um, hi. I'm Fluttershy. I really like animals, so I focused on being a caretaker for them. You should come out sometime and check out my little collection sometime! If you don't mind, that is..." Her voice trailed off as she finished.

"I'd love to."

As the questions were wrapping up, Twilight entered the room and cleared her throat when she drew closer to me. "Your bedroom is ready, but there might be an issue." Oh no. What could go wrong with a bedroom unless..."Your bed might be a bit small, but don't worry. We're tailoring a bed for you, and it should be ready by tomorrow." Crap. I can deal with one night on a smaller bed, though. "Alright, girls it's getting late, you should be going." The rest left the castle with the usual informalities of "Good night!' and "See ya tomorrow!" I lingered, however as I didn't get to properly question her. It's a good thing Pinkie let me keep the pad and pen. "Follow me to your room."

"Hey, Twilight. Can I ask a few questions? First of all, where's Spike?"

"Poor thing got tuckered out so he went to bed early, why did you need to know?"

"No reason, I just didn't see him come back with you. Could you stay in my room for a bit? It seems you know a lot about the town, world and other miscellaneous questions I could ask."

She blushed slightly, but sighed in agreement. "I would never deny anypony information that is requested. Ah, here it is." She gave me a small silver key. I put the key in the tiny keyhole, and opened the door.

Opening up to me was the grandest bedroom I had ever seen, ten, no a hundred times better than my apartment flat. A twin sized bed lied in the middle of the room and I sat my belongings down at the foot of it. On the left wall an empty dresser was left open to put my clothes in. Next to it sat a regal vanity. Nice, a place to put my little hygiene kit and the notepad. I heard a voice from behind me.

"Nice, isn't it? Enough admiring the room, I want to answer your questions!" She giddily sat on a couch looking piece of furniture ready for anything thrown at her. "Lemme start this. I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, but you can call me Twilight." Princess, eh? Well I've found a mooching buddy. "I used to be the student of the leader of this land, Princess Celestia, but as I earned my wings, she no longer accepted me as a student, but as one of her own. I also used to be the local librarian before the fight destroyed my library. Luckily, no book has a single copy." Fight? No, it's too late to be going into this. "I'm now the princess of Friendship." I chuckled at this, but she easily waved it off. "So if you ever need or want to learn about our mythology, come to me, or search the castle library. I'll bring some books to you to get you started on our anatomy, history, and other cool knowledge. Anything else?"

"No, thank you though, you blindly answered my question before I asked. I would appreciate those books, though. And as soon as possible I'd like to get into contact with Princess Celestia. Again, thanks for answering."

"No problem, I'll get those books."

As I stared at the door when she left, I looked back at my suitcase. Gotta change into something more comfortable. And a few minutes passed, I got into the relatively small bed, and nearly drifted off to sleep. After a few minutes, Twilight showed up with the books. She crept with much precision, and gently floated the books onto the vanity. Floated? No, brain please. It's time for bed, my mind shouldn't be thinking about it. As soon as the door closed I fell asleep.
