I had run for... a long time before growing tired and I had slowed down, my pace slow and steady. I was excited, really excited and I didn't know why. I knew the name Ponyville, flashes of... ponies, houses and cottages, blue skies and friendly smiles. It made me feel good on the inside and I knew I had to go there, I had to go there and find out if anyone there knew who I was. The very thought of someone recognizing me and being able to tell me what happened excited me to no end.
Not remembering sucks.
But, how did I know Ponyville? Did I live there, or... visit maybe? I wasn't sure, I tried to remember, but everything was a jumbled mess inside of my head. I wanted to remember, but I could only see snippets of the town in my head. I think I saw a town center, some more... ponies? Well, it is called Ponyville, so... I saw some with horns, and even more without either horns or wings. Unicorns and... normal ponies? I didn't know.
Damn it. I cursed, looking down at the dirt trail as I walked. What happened to me that caused this crap? It was insane, and... ugh. I rubbed my head, only to regret it as I was sent sprawling forward with a yelp. I hit the ground, face first, pain making itself known in my nose. Great.
"Umm, are you alright?" Someone asked me, who was that?
I shook my head and regained my senses enough to look up, I saw green hooves, attached to legs and a green body. Looking up further, I saw it was a pony, a unicorn with a two tone mane and a lyre... on her butt? Do I have a thing on my butt? I made a mental note to check later. When her golden eyes peered into my, another name popped into my head.
Lyra Heartstrings.
That was her name... Lyra Heartstrings... but how did I know this?! I shook the thought away and gave her a halfhearted smile. "Um... yeah I... I'm alright."
She returned my smile with one of her own. "Hehehe, you looked like you were having trouble walking there," She said, her horn lighting up and startling my as she lifted me up and got me standing. Noticing my startled look, she asked, "You alright?"
"Yeah yeah, I just..." I shook my head, my mane whipping from side to side. "What did you just do, magic?"
"Well, yeah," She said, rolling her eyes with a smile. "All unicorns do magic, haven't you ever seen one before?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah... don't know where but..." I shrugged. "Yeah, sorry."
"Nothing to be sorry for," She jerked her head to the path back. "I'm heading to Ponyville, you?"
"Uh, the same... I guess, if I can walk without tripping over my hooves that is." I chuckled nervously, why couldn't I walk right?
Lyra seemed to sense the same thing. "Do you have trouble walking often?" She asked me.
"Um... yeah, kinda, since I woke up that is." I explained, wait... maybe.
Lyra tilted her head, looking brows furrowed and lips in a frown. "Since you woke up? What do you mean."
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to tell her. "I kinda... woke up, like... an hour or so ago in a field, and I..." I looked down at the ground. "I can't really remember anything except Ponyville, and your name for some reason." I told her, getting a questioning glare.
"Really?" She questioned. "What is my name then?"
"I think... Lyra Heartstrings?" I told her.
In the next few moments, I found my airways constricted and I was on the ground, with Lyra straddling me with her hooves around my neck her horn aglow as she grabbed a rock from nearby. I choked.
"How do you know my name?!" She yelled at me, making me choke.
Why?!
"Ugh! I don't know!" I choked out, struggling against her hold. She was strong!
"Have you been stalking me?" She tightened her hold on me, and I had to beat my hooves against her arms pathetically.
"No!" I gasped out, trying to breath. "I sw-swear, I ha-haven't been s-stalking you!" I feebly swatted at her chest, god, she was strong! "Can't breath!" I choked out, thankfully after a few seconds she let up and I was able to breath, through the coughs of course. "Shit!" I coughed, rolling over onto my side, my throat burned and my eyes stung with tears.
"Who are you?" She asked me, stepping back as she levitated the rock at me, shaking it menacingly.
I coughed again, "I don't know!" I yelled at her,
