Lyra, after many years of studying in Celestia's School for Gifted Casters, returns to her home town of Ponyville. When she returns, she meets up her childhood friend Bon Bon, with so many years to catch up on.

Bon Bon, on the other hand, has lived in Ponyville for that time, and her memory of Lyra is all but gone.

But time has altered them (as usual), and they will be drawn to each other in a way that they could never predict.
