Ponysona 3: The Nightmare Hour

I woke up on a bus on my way to a new dorm for my school, I didn't like how I had to move to a new place just to go to school, but I didn't really mind, I had a new school, and it was cool how princess Celestia specifically chose me to go to this school, but it was still weird.

"You're about to embark on a long journey." I said quietly to myself. "what does that mean, and was that even a dream it felt so, real." I shook my head and gave my face a light smack "Can't worry about that now Star, new highschool, new living space, and hopefully new friends."

"Final Stop, Canterlot prep." The bus driver said.

"Looks like my stop." I got my stuff together and hopped off the bus but then soon realized that I was the only student onboard. I looked around and saw the entrance to the dorms that I would be staying in, not wasting a second I walked inside. "Hello! is this the dorms for Canterlot prep?" I yelled out.

"Yes!" Called a voice from the back, a small pony with the same grey hair, and yellow eyes as Elizabeth came running down the hall with a checklist in his hands. He was wearing a uniform which I assumed to be the school uniform. "I'm North Frost i'm currently the only one here right now, but I can help get you checked in." He said.

"Cool thanks." I replied, he then led me to the check-in desk.

"Just sign your name and grade here." he said. I then signed my name and put down my grade. "Well now follow me and I can get you to your room." he said and led me down the hallway he came running down. He brought me to the second floor and opened a room. I looked inside the room and saw it had a twin bed, a desk, a window with curtains, and a closet.

"Hey thanks." I said as I turned to face him he was suddenly gone. I looked down both ends of the hall to see where he went but he just seemed to disappear. I decided to unpack everything and get settled in, so when I was done I could explore and check out my surroundings.

Once I finished unpacking It was night so but that didn't stop me from heading out to explore, I first looked at the time to see how late I would be out.

"It's eleven right now, so i'll be back by one." I said to myself as I headed out, but I first noticed a gun under my desk. "What, a gun? what is this for? is it for students to protect themselves if someone tries to attack them?" I picked up the gun and the holster that was next to it and hoked it to my pants. "Not exactly the kind of style I like, but hey if it''s for protection it's for protection." I then left the dorm.

Walking around for a while I saw that it was really dark and decided to head back to the dorm but on my way there I heard a bell ringing. It made me dizzy and the world around me started to change. The sky became purple, the moon became red, and the buildings started to look distorted.

"What the hell?" I thought to myself. I fell to my knees and flapped my wings to try to fly, but it didn't work I was stuck on the ground. Dizzy and not able to fly I stood back up and started walking when I heard crying from a small distance away. Not thinking about it I ran to the crying, and wanting protection I pulled out the gun I had found in my room. I found a convenience store and kicked through the door and looked around.

"H-hey over here." I heard a voice call from the corner of the store. I went to the corner and saw a pony wearing a black shirt and blue jeans in the corner crying, he also had a blue and burgundy mane with his bangs covering one eye.

"Umm, are you okay?" I asked the pony.

"No i'm not okay, I was just walking to the dorm cause i'm a new student and then bam, monsters everywhere." He said.

"Monsters?" I asked with confusion. I don't remember there being monsters, or anypony else for that matter. "Listen my name's StarFly, what's yours?"

"I'm Crescent Blade." He replied.

"Okay, nice to meet you, but listen we should head to the dorm before these monsters attack us." I said with doubt about the monsters actually being real.

"Sure." Crescent stood up and saw the gun in my hand. "Whoa you have a gun, you could kill the monsters if they try to attack us."

"Umm yeah sure, i'll kill any monsters that attack us." I said as I walked out of the store with Crescent close behind. We walked in silence, the sensation of danger slowly overwhelming us, we were both scared to death, we didn't know what lied ahead for us, but just as it seemed we were in the clear, a huge monster crashed through a wall making us both jump back. The monster looked like a weird statue, it had cracks in it's body, and seemed to be bleeding.

"Oh shit, shoot it." Crescent said. On instinct I started to shoot at the monster, but nothing was happening. the monster grabbed us both and lifted us off the ground. Constricting us I could feel the breath get taken out of me I was gasping for breath to no avail, I was going to die.

"The gun." I heard a voice say in my head. "point the gun at your head, and shoot." Not thinking twice I pointed the gun at the side of my head.

"Dude what are you doing?" Crescent yelled at me. I was trembling and scared, screaming I pulled the trigger, I felt a pain shoot through my body, it was a tingling sensation unlike anything I have felt before, it spread throughout my body, but I wasn't dead, instead a new monster appeared and broke us free from the monster's grasp. The monster that saved us looked a bit like me, it had my same green and blue hair, it also had wings like me, and in it's hand was a sword.

"Thou art I, I art thou, thou has been blessed with the power of one's heart, the persona Zi." I heard the same voice in my head again.

"Giga Punch!" I yelled not knowing what it meant it just came out, and as if I was controlling the thing that broke us free, the thing punched straight through the monster and they both disappeared. Not knowing what happened or how it happened I collapsed, exhausted from the ordeal, and from being near death

I woke up back in my dorm room and I felt terrible, I didn't have the slightest idea as to what the hell happened, but I laid there hoping it was a dream. I looked out my window and saw canterlot castle in the distance, and outside near the front of the dorm I saw some students at the front door.

"Persona, monsters, and a gun that doesn't kill me." I said aloud to myself. "if mom and dad were to see this i'd be grounded right away." I got changed into new clothes and headed downstairs to greet the students. When I got downstairs the students were all staring at me, there was a purple unicorn, and yellow pegasus, an orange pegasus, a grey unicorn, and a grey pegasus.

"Who are you and what are you doing in here?" Asked the purple pony.

"I'm StarFly, and i'm a new student here." I replied the ponies looked at my belt and saw the gun that I still had on me.

"Oh I see you're a member of S.E.E.S my mistake, i'm Twilight Sparkle." Said the purple pony.

"I'm Flash Sentry." Said the orange pegasus.

"Thunderbolt Sentinel." Said the yellow pegasus.

"I'm Swirl." Said the grey Unicorn.

"And i'm Silver Wing." Said the grey pegasus. Crescent blade came downstairs wiping his eyes.

"The hell is going on down here?" Crescent asked.

"Oh, there's another one." Twilight said in amusement.

"So these two must have the potential." Sentinel said.

"P-potential?" Crescent and I asked in unison.

"They don't know about the potential, then maybe they aren't new members." Flash said.

"Persona." I said and the ponies went quiet.

"So they do know." Swirl said.

"Well atleast one of them does." Silver Wing said.

"What's the potential?" Crescent asked.

"Come over to the dining room, i'll explain it to you." Twilight said.

"So basically that's it, the power to summon a thing called a persona?" Crescent asked.

"Yeah pretty much." Sentinel said.

"It's much more complex than that, you see when it strikes midnight then a hidden hour in witch normal ponies can't function in arises, it's called the Nightmare Hour. And with the power of personas we are able to destroy these monsters called shadows." Twilight said.

"Seems simple enough." I said.

"Oh hey, StarFly Called forth his persona last night, he also took down a shadow in one hit." Crescent said.

"Really?" Twilight said in amusement.

"Judging from that we should make you the leader of this group." Flash said.

"Whoa wait-" I started.

"Yeah and while we're on the subject mind if I join?" Crescent asked.

"That's up to Star." Swirl sad.

"Sure you can join, but you'll need one of these." I Said as I pulled out my gun.

"Yeah I saw one of those in my room, but wait look these guys have actual weapons." Crescent said.

"Oh right, you'll need weapons to fight the shadows for when you're out of S.P." Twilight said. Twilight lead Crescent and I to a back room with some weapons inside of it. "take your pick boys." Twilight said.

I looked around the room at the many weapons, there was swords, bows, spears, and knives.

"I pick this." Crescent said as he picked up a two handed sword which he held like a baseball bat. I kept looking around for a weapon myself until I found a nice looking sword and picked it up.

"This one's mine." I said as I swung it to get a feel for it.

"Great, welcome to the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad." Twilight said. "or S.E.E.S for short."
