"Button, are you sure you want to go to school? Ms. Cheerilee said you could stay at home until your forehoof's healed." Lovetap said as she helped Button put on his saddlebag.

"Why would I stay home? So I can be tortured by the games I can't even play?" Button said as he looked at the sling his forehoof was in.

"Well, if you're sure. At least let me take you so I know you won't fall." Lovetap said as she helped Button out of the door.

"Mom, if I can take down the champion with only one pokemon on my team, I think I can handle this." He said as he carefully walked out the door. "Plus, I am going to meet up with Sweetie Belle so I can meet her friends." Button said with a smile.

"Well, OK. However, if anything happens to you, I will personally take care of it." Lovetap said as she waved goodbye to her son.

"Ok, thanks mom. I will see you after school." Button said as he walked away quickly.

"Ok. So let me get this straight, you want to let a new colt join our club, even when he is injured?" Scootaloo said as she gave Sweetie Belle a look that was starting to freak her out.

"Well yeah, I mean he doesn't have his Cutie Mark, so he can join. Remember - we take anyone." Sweetie Belle said as she nudged Applebloom.

"Well, she's got a point." Applebloom said, as she remembered her promise.

"So you're on board too? Well then fine, but I still don't like this." Scootaloo said with a huff.

"Did I forget to mention that he scared Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon out of their wits." Sweetie Belle said with a look of victory in her eyes.

"Ok, now I'm in." Scootaloo said, remembering all the times they had been made fun of by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.

"So where is he? Applebloom asked.

"Oh, he's going to meet us on the way to school. Speaking of which, we have to go." Sweetie said as she dashed out the clubhouse.

"She never realizes that clock is behind,does she?" Scootaloo said as she face hoofed.

"Actually ah fixed it,so lets skedadal." Applebloom said as she dragged Scootaloo out the clubhouse.

"Buck, I wish I hadn't turned my mother down on her offer for help."Button thought as he struggled to get that far without stopping and leaning on a wall to regain some strength.

"I wonder where's Sweeti- Oooooowwwwwwww!" Button screamed, as Sweetie Belle ran into him as long as her friends.

"Button, we're so, so, so sorry. Are you ok?" Sweetie said, as she slapped herself for hurting him again.

Button, trying not to cry in front of them just said "No." as he tried to get up but fell again.

As Sweetie Belle went to help Button,she said "Stop staring and help me for Celestia's sake!" as her friends went to help her.

"Gee Sweetie Belle, you really need to start paying attention to where you're walking." Scootaloo said as she helped Button up.

"Shutup Scootaloo!" Sweetie said as Button leaned on her for support.

"Ah, you guys think he's ok?" Applebloom said, staring at how much he was relying on Sweetie Belle.

"I'm fine, I just need some help walking." Button said as he started to fall again. Luckily, Applebloom caught him.

"Ok, but we're helping so you don't fall." Scootaloo said, as she grabbed Button and propped him up.

Button smiling weakly said "Thanks guys." as he winced as Sweetie Belle accidentally hit his bad hoof.

"So Button, I was wondering if you would want to join the Cutie Mark Crusaders?" Sweetie asked as she looked at how heavily Button was relying on them.

"I don't know. I really don't care when I get my Cutie Mark." Button said, making everyone stop moving.

"HOW DO YOU NOT CARE? IT SHOWS YOUR SPECIAL TALENT AND YOU DON'T CARE?" They all screamed at Button.

"Hey, I already have a broken fore-hoof. I don't need my ears broken too." Button said, annoyed. "Plus, what happens if your talent is something you don't want to do? You can still do whatever you want, so I'm going to be a video game designer, no matter what my Cutie Mark is."

The CMC were in shock and Sweetie stared at Button,wanting to back away, but not wanting him to fall either. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle started to tear up, as Scootaloo said "I never thought about it that way." She said as she started to think about it as she walked over to Applebloom and Sweetie Belle.

As Button saw his friends tearing up, he said, "Hey, I could be wrong. Maybe you get exactly what you want as your Cutie Mark." Button said, as he started to worry. "Um . . . shouldn't we get going or we're going to be late." Button said, as he started walking and took his arm out of the sling and tried to use it.

"Button,what are you doing?" The CMC all said together.

"If I can use my hoof, you guys can get over the pain from not having  your Cutie Marks." Button said, as he started walking and tearing up from the pain.

They all just stared at Button, as he walked on his broken fore-hoof and didn't stop.

"Button, stop!" Scootaloo said as she started walking towards Button. "Stop it! Put your hoof back in the sling and let us help you!"

Button didn't hear a word, because he had tuned them out and was determined to get to school without their help. Ithad been his plan all along so they wouldn't think he was weak. As Button started to run, he started to feel his arm go numb - but he didn't stop until he got to school. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle started following Scootaloo, as she chased after Button.

"Yes . . . I . . . made . . . it." Button said, as he fell on his face and just lay there, trying to ignore the pain.

"Button, are you ok?" Ms. Cheerilee asked as she saw Button on the floor.

"Oh yeah. I'm just tired." Button lied as he stayed on the floor.

"Well, you are still early. As long as you come in on time, you can stay there." Ms. Cheerilee said with a smile.

"Thanks." Button said as he started to sleep.

After a while, Button was awaken to the sensation of an ear to his side.

"Oh Celestia, please tell me he's alive." Scootaloo said as she pressed her ear to Button's side. "Thank Celestia, he's alive!" Scootaloo said, as she removed her ear from his side.

"Scootaloo, is that you?" Button asked as he barely heard who was talking.

"Oh Button, you're awake. I brought Twilight so she could heal your fore-hoof." Scootaloo said as she poked Twilight.

"Ok,let me see it Button." Twilight said, as she grabbed Button hoof and he immediately pulled it back. "It seems bad - but nothing some magic can't fix." Twilight said as she used her magic to heal Button. "Button, are you feeling better?"

"Yeah, I feel great!" Button exclaimed, as he ran in a circle.

"Well, try not to break it again, because that spell is hard to do, ok?" Twilight said with a smile.

"Ok, thanks." Button said, as he gave Twilight a hug.

"Aww, that's so cute!" Scootaloo said as she watched.

"Button,you're healed! How is that possible?" Applebloom and Sweetie Belle said in unison.

"Oh, Twilight healed me. Thanks again for that." Button said as he walked to his friends.

"No problem. Now I got to go because Princess Cadence needs help in the Crystal Empire." Twilight said with a chuckle. "And maybe I'll see Flash Sentry again." Twilight thought.

"So Button, do you want to join the Cutie Mark Crusaders?" Sweetie asked, as she made her eyes go big.

"Sure, as long as I get to pick the first thing I do." Button said, expecting them to say no so he could just play his games, and get out of the Club he thought was pointless.

"Ok, you have a deal then." Sweetie said as she gave Button a hoof.

"Ok, after school, just follow me." Button said as he shook Sweetie Belle's hoof, annoyed that his plan didn't work.

"Ok students. Class is about to start, so let's stop the chit chat and let's get moving." Ms. Cheerilee said as she motioned the foals into the school.

Durring the entire class, Button was trying to find a way out of the deal he made, while the Cutie Mark Crusaders were wondering what Button was going to make them do. Button was still thinking, staring into space, when Sweetie Belle poked him in the side.

"Huh? Oh, hi Sweetie Belle." Button said as he started to get out of his seat.

"So, what are we doing today?" Sweetie Belle asked with excitement.

"We're are going to explore a cave!" Button said, expecting her to say no.

"Ok, I'll go tell the girls. where do you want to meet up?" Sweetie Belle said as she started to walk away.

"Meet me at my house, ok?" Button said, as he walked out of the door.

"Ok. See you then!" Sweetie said as she waved goodbye.
