Nobody in Ponyville knew exactly what to do. Celestia had not called the Mane 6 to Canterlot, so Princess Twilight was thinking of arranging something herself. She clopped loudly into the main room of her castle, Cutie Map glistening like polished emerald. After she had sort of re-made her 1st floor into a new Golden Oaks library, she often read by herself upstairs, which was off-limits to guests, to avoid being flocked by the residents. She had more than once thought of moving to Canterlot, but she knew that Applejack wouldn't leave her farm. While being the Princess of Friendship, she understood that though the numbers were few, some things rose more important than friendship, like family. Secretly, Twilight envied Applejack for the strong bonds of her family; and while Shining Armor was a great friend, they had drifted away over the years. As she settled down in her chair (it was really more of a throne), She opened the book that had been lying on the table. She sank in her seat as she was immersed into the land of mystical creatures, searching for the ones that Pinkie had seen earlier. The construction outside suddenly tore her out of her dream state; the wreckage the creatures had caused was huge. SugarCube Corner was worn down, stone tiles were pulled out of the ground. Twilight sighed, knowing she would not be able to do her research here. With magic, she pulled her backpack onto her back and stuffed her book inside, trying to open her wings comfortably with the strap in the way. She trot over to the window, gently opening the curtains so that she could fly up to Cloudsdale for a more peaceful read.

Shadow knew they would starve soon, and that was that. He could see flocks of winged ponies flying far away from him, often to the same place. The black hedgehog had learned that these creatures traveled in groups. Both Sonic and Silver wanted to fix the mess they had caused back in the pony-inhabited town, but Shadow refused to allow it.
