Matters of the heart

It's been a few hours since Lone and Selena revealed their feelings for one another, and they were sitting in the living room. The spaghetti was nearly ready. Red was still at Rainbow's house, and it didn't take a genius to guess what was happening there. Right now, though, the new couple were simply enjoying their time together.

"So, Selena," Lone said, "once your mother's back, what do you want to do?"

"So long as we do it together," Selena said, leaning into Lone's shoulder, "I don't care what we do."

"Same here, Selena," Lone said as he planted a small kiss on Selena's muzzle. "And I can not wait to meet your mother in person."

"I'm sure she'll want to meet you too, Lone." Just as Selena said this, there was a knock on the door.

"Huh. Wonder who it is," Lone said. "Best to disguise yourself, Selena. Just to be safe."

Selena nodded as she turned into Rarity. "Right," she said as another round of knocking came.

"Coming," Lone said as he got up and made his way to the door. Just as a third round came, he made it to the door and said, "I'm coming, damn it. Just hold on for-" he stopped as he opened the door and, to his surprise, Princess Celestia stood there. "Princess Celestia," he said, bowing. "I didn't expect you to come here. And I'm sorry for what I just said."

Celestia, in a flowing, sleeveless white dress, stood at the head of the doorway with a small smile as she said, "No need to apologize, Lone. You are one of my former body guards, after all. But I did come for a reason. May I come in?"

"Yeah," Lone said, standing aside. This, he could tell, was going to get interesting. Shame he had no precautions should this turn into a magical world war. "Rarity, we have a guest!" he yelled. With that, he followed Celestia into the living room. Once he entered, he saw Selena, still disguised, tense up, but Lone brought his hand up, then slowly lowered it. Stay cool. "Princess, this is my marefriend, Rarity," he said, sitting down next to her. Well, not close, as in hip to hip, but on the same couch.

"Hello, Princess," Selena said, having to force it out in a respectful tone. "What brings you here?"

"Personal matters," Celestia said as she sat down in a chair close to the couch. "More specifically, matters of the heart."

"What do you mean, Princess?" Lone asked, genuinely curious as to this.

"Well, I was hoping for your advice on this Lone. If Rarity wouldn't mind, I'd also like her help."

"Well, I'm willing to help," Lone said. "What about you, sweetie?"

"One, that's my sisters name, Lone," Selena said, getting a small chuckle out the others. "Two, I'd be happy to help," she said, though it was obvious she didn't.

"So, what do you need help with," Lone asked.

Celestia sighed. "Well, I have feelings for a stallion, but I haven't seen him for sometime. I am planning on seeing him soon, but it will only be for a small time. What I want to know is: how do I tell him I have feelings for him, and have him give me a chance?"

"Well, what's he like?" Lone asked.

Celestia smiled a little. "He's charming, smart, charismatic, and loyal. A little blind to others sometimes, but I think that makes him a little more, I don't know, perfect."

Selena thought for a few seconds before saying, "Well, I would simply ask him out."

"And if he is already in a relationship?"

"A:, he'll at least give you a chance, or B: he will say no, which means he isn't for you," Lone said.

"Then, in that case," Celestia said before lokking at the two, or, more specifically, Lone, "Would you like to go on a date with me, Lone?" she asked, nervousness in her voice.

Multiple things happened here. One was Lone face palming, wondering why he didn't see this coming, as how Celestia had described her crush was exactly how others, both in the Lunar Knights and not, described him. The second thing was Selena getting up, grabbing Celestia by the throat, and pinning her to the wall, snarling.

"Shit," Lone said, getting up and trying to make hos way to Selena, but she put a a magical shield that stopped him from getting to the two of them. He pounded on the shield, yelling, against his better judgement, but, hey, they were probably screwed over right now anyway, "Selena, stop it!"

Celestia's eyes widened. "S-Selena?" she asked, getting a small grin from her blood niece as she dropped the disguise.

"Hello, auntie," she said. "Surprised?"

"Selena, let her go!" Lone yelled. "You know as well as I do that we have precautions for this, and killing her isn't one of them!"

"I make the rules, Lone," Selena said just as she heard sobbing, and looked at Celestia, who had tears running down her face. "What, upset you hadn't banished me with my mother? Your sister?" she asked, leaning closer, only, to her shock, for Celestia to put her arms around her.

"No," Celestia said, sobbing. "I was looking for you all those years ago, wanting to apologize for what I did to your mother, and hope you'd, at least, forgive me. You and her were the only family I had left, and i didn't want to lose one of you, let alone both of you. I thought I'd never find you, Selena." The sobbing died down a little, but not by much. "I know you don't believe me, but I swear I simply wanted to see you all those years, and would do anything to show you that I'm telling the truth."

"I. . . think I have an idea as to that." Both mares, Selena with a lowered snarl on her face, but hatred still there, turned to face Lone.

"And what might that be, Lone?" Selena said.

"Simple," Lone said, shrugging. "Make her a Lunar Knight."
