Drastic Dreams
Equestria: Friendship Castle (Twilight’s bedroom)
Equestria was a world inhabited by all different types of ponies. Each with their own brand of magic. Much of the time, Equestria was a generally peaceful place isolated from and generally ignorant of other worlds. Not to say that the alicorn Twilight Sparkle was entirely ignorant of other worlds, however. She had, after all, been to at least one alternate world parallel to her own. She had saved that world as well as her own on more than one occasion, but for the most part the inhabitants of both worlds were unaware that the other even existed. Each time she saved either world her friends had been there beside her. She understood the value of friendship perhaps more than anyone in either world. Because of this, Twilight had become the Princess of Friendship. She had faced many frightening things in her lifetime, but evening she was experiencing a nightmare quite different than anything one would expect to find in Equestria.
After defeating the centaur Lord Tirek she had been having strange dreams about a boy with brown spiky hair. And to make things worse, ever since helping Luna the Princess of the Night captured the Tantibus such dreams became more frequent and more vivid. So vivid in fact that whenever Princess Luna visited those dreams, she almost believed them to be real.
Twilight suddenly jerked awake with a surprised and confused look on her face. As realization of what had transpired in the nightmare, tears began to well up in her eyes. She was now wide awake and deeply disturbed. She got out of bed and began pacing the room. Before long the continuing sounds of her hoofsteps woke Spike, the baby dragon that was much like a younger brother to Twilight. As he rubbed his eyes he said “Twilight, I thought we were through with this late night pacing!" It was then that he first clearly saw Twlight’s face and noticed the tears in her eyes. "Twilight... what's wrong?"
Twilight ignored him for a brief moment, then turned to him. “It was horrible.”
“What was, Twilight?” Spike asked.
“My dream. It was a nightmare. Not like the other dreams I’ve had since we defeated Lord Tirek, but very similar.”
“You mean the dreams of those humans?”
With a sigh, “Yes, those dreams.”
“The ‘Flash Sentry’ ones or the ‘Other’ ones?” another voice called out.
Twilight and Spike looked to the bedroom door to see Flash Sentry, Twilight’s fiancé and bodyguard, poking his head through the door. He looked at her with combined look of concern and annoyance. Ever since she accidentally let slip that she liked him because of a human version of him, he gave her that look whenever she (or anyone else) so much as mentioned the word ‘human.’
“It was the ‘Other’ ones, Flash,” Twilight reassured him. His features relaxed to the look of concern.
“So, what was in tonight’s dream?” He asked, with true concern in his voice.
“Well, it was an extremely odd yet frightening dream,” Twilight started, “The dreams I’ve had before this nightmare seemed to set up its horror.”
“How so?” Spike inquired.
“The previous dreams showed brief images of three friends on some tropical island setting. They seemed quite content with their lives and friendship on the island,” Twilight sighed and continued, “The nightmare was more like a vision. I could only grasp bits and pieces of what I saw, but it seemed as though some of that friendship between the three was dissolving.”
Flash suddenly looked confused. “How and over what was the friendship dissolving?” he asked.
“Uh...rather violently and...something about ‘changing the world’ and ‘everlasting darkness’ or something,” Twilight stammered out.
“That bad!?” Spike exclaimed.
“Well, when you see scenes of arguments, mistrust, AND, just before waking up, seeing one of them ready to plunge a weird sword into another...yeah...that bad,” Twilight said, nervously.
Both Flash and Spike looked taken back. The idea that a friendship could dissolve so badly as to cause the members of such a friendship to try to kill each other...it was unfathomable.
“This dream was unsettling AND vague. I want to get to the bottom of this,” She paused before looking at Spike. “Spike, take a note, please.”
“I don’t think we should bother…” Spike began to say, but Twilight interrupted.
“Spike! I need to figure this out! No one is better with dreams than Princess Luna!”
“Alright! Calm down,” Spike huffed, as he readied a nearby scroll and quill.
“Before you dictate the message,” Flash stated, with some stern authority to his voice, “you need something.” Without warning, he embraced her in a comforting hug. She hugged back and let a few tears roll.
“Ugh, can we get on with the message!” Spike exclaimed, with hint of annoyance and disgust, “You can go back to being mushy after it’s sent.”
With a slight giggle, Twilight began the dictation.

Destiny Islands: Sora’s bedroom
Destiny Islands was a world like Equestria, except that it’s inhabitants were humans. It was generally peaceful with no fears of the abnormal. An occasional storm or hurricane was expected. But with every storm, the Keyblade Master, Sora, always looked at them with nostalgia. Because of one storm, he had quite a few adventures in the outside worlds, and had saved them in countless ways.
During this particular storm his thoughts began to wander to what was going on now based off of then. Master Xehanort, an evil Keyblade Master, had been defeated. This had resulted in a decreasing number of Heartless attacks and the worlds returning to a peaceful state. From there his role of a Keyblade Master had turned into a waiting game.
His thoughts then quickly turned to something that bothered him for about a month. Why were his dreams showing him multicolored ponies? The dream that he had before the storm started up was more vivid and scary than the others. Seeing a corrupted pony trying to mess with the peaceful lives of many others made him feel as if he needed to help.
Sora never did know who to talk to about those dreams. With Riku and Kairi, friends and fellow Keyblade Masters, he couldn’t talk to them. They had been gone for at least 3 months, exploring and charting undiscovered worlds at Yen Sid’s insistence. Sora would have gone with them, but the battle against Master Xehanort had left him drained and he was still in recovery at the time.
He began to think as to what he could do to get answers to his questions. He could consider talking to Yen Sid, but he would probably only get sage wisdom rather than a direct answer. It dawned on him that someone in the Realm of Dreams could help him.
Sora quickly changed into his red and black clothes and mentally prepared himself for what he was going to do. He summoned his Keyblade the Kingdom Key and pointed it at his bedroom window. No sooner had he done that, an ethereal keyhole materialized in front of said window. Sora took a deep breath and focused on opening a portal to the Realm of Dreams. The Kingdom Key flashed and sent a beam of light into the keyhole opening a gateway to sleep.
Sora had one last thought before sleep overtook him. I hope Joshua can help.

Unknown world: Unknown location
“Well, what do you know. The Keyblade wielder just dropped to the Realm of Dreams.”
“And the Princess?”
“She’s having a rather entertaining emotional fit.”
“Good. It seems that my other half is acting as predicted. Send one of the lesser members to the Dream Traverse Town. Have her keep an eye on things. Do not let her engage with the Players or the Keyblade wielder.”
“Alrighty, I’ll get to it.”
