The Heart is a mysterious thing. Unpredictable as fate itself. I’ve witnessed first hoof how a set of twins had shown power in their hearts in a rather unusual way.

I was informed by a few obstetricians of a strange magical anomaly between a unicorn and pegasus foal, both twins to the same parents. I asked for details, but they had no real understanding of the anomaly to give any proper details, so I had to personally investigate (in disguise of course).

After donning the appropriate disguise, I was brought to the family of these foals. Night Light was a professor at my School for Gifted Unicorns, somepony I admired (to a professional degree) for his raw power. Twilight Velvet, a professor’s aide in the school, I could almost consider a daughter. When she was much younger, she struggled with her magic control. I can still remember when a miscast vision enhancement spell had switched her right eye vision with her left, and vice versa.

Upon viewing the foals, I noticed that the anomaly, while it was magical in nature, it was focused on the light in their innocent hearts. Silver Crown, the pegasus, had an excess amount of light in his heart. Twilight Sparkle, the unicorn, was unconsciously, and probably accidentally, siphoning it off of him. In all of my knowledge and experience of matters of the heart, this is the most baffling I’ve witnessed.

Twilight wasn’t doing any immediate damage to Silver, but it was too soon to tell, and I didn’t want them to come to harm because of this. I decided right then and there to separate them. It will be hard on the parents, but I feel that it is for the greater good for my little ponies.
