Chapter 33: And Your New Wonderbolt Is...

Welcome to the final chapter of A Dash of Happiness Soared Through the Skies! You now have my confirmation of a sequel arriving in the near future! It will probably be uploaded later today, or tomorrow! It will be called: A Dash of Love Soared Through the Skies... All the recruits had their eyes wide, leaning in their seats, as Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot made their way to the front of the stage. Today was the day. The day when the Wonderbolts would announce the newest member of their crew!

It had been a year since Soarin's surgery, and him and Dash decided to wait a little while till they got married.

Spitfire took the megaphone from the announcer, and cleared her throat.

"Hello everypony! I am here to tell you who will be joining our ranks today. As you all know, more than three-hundred ponies came to tryouts this year. Every single one of them had exceptional standings! But these ten are our best." She started, gesturing to the ten ponies sitting in the front row.

Rainbow Dash, Hibiscus Wings, Cloud Ember, Lightning Tile, Epic Note, Water Tag, Button Down, Burning Cloud, Storm Fire, and Swift Wings all looked towards each other with nervous faces. Rainbow Dash then quietly spoke up.

"Guys... We may have only met a few months ago.. But just so you know, no matter who becomes a Wonderbolt today, we will all stay friends. Right?" She said. The others all nodded in agreement.

"You bet your wings, Rainbow Dash!" Burning Cloud exclaimed. Dash smiled, as the other's all grinned.

"Yeah! Just because only one of us get to fulfill our life long dream, doesn't mean it should come in the way of our friendship!" Cloud Ember said. Hibiscus Wings nodded.

"I completely agree! We're all ponies! We shoudn't let our brains get in the way of our hearts!" She said, clutching her own. The other's rolled their eyes, and giggled slightly. From the front podium, Spitfire cleared her throat. Everypony looked over to her with wide eyes.

"You guys done yet?" She asked, checking the watch on a nearby wall. Dash and her friends all blushed, and nodded.

"Yes, ma'am..." Dash said quietly. Spitfire smiled, and then continued.

"Anyway! I just wanted to let you know, that even though only one of you get to become a full fledged Wonderbolt, you all will be dearly remembered as an important part. You all were the top recruits in the academy! And that is nothing to be ashamed of!" She said.

There was a murmur of approval between the ten ponies in the crowd. Spitfire smiled again.

"So! Without further ado! Let me welcome our latest member..." She said, rising her voice at the end.

Dash took a few deep breaths. This was it! The next few words that came out of Spitfire's mouth would determine her future! With not only herself, but also her fiancé! Speaking of...

Soarin glanced over to Rainbow Dash from the stage. Dash smiled up at him, and he gladly returned it. He shot her a wink, before looking back at the Wonderbolt Captain. Dash sighed, and did the same.

"Rainbow Dash!" Spitfire exclaimed. Dash's jaw dropped. Did she just say what she thought she said?

Spitfire said Dash's name! And that meant...

"Congratulations, Rainbow Dash!" Spitfire said happily. "You're our newest Wonderbolt member!"

Dash jumped up, while her friends patted her on the back.

"Congrats, Rainbow!" They all told her. Dash grinned, and made her way to the podium. Spitfire then handed her a brand new Wonderbolt flight suit, and a handbook for all her needs.

"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" Dash yelled, covering her mouth with her hoof. Spitfire held out her own for a shake.

Dash happily took it, and shook hooves with all of the elite Wonderbolts.

When she came to Soarin, she not only shook his hoof, but she also pulled him in for a massive hug. Soarin chuckled, and wrapped his hooves around his mare, and lightly kissed her on the cheek, as they pulled away.

Everypony's jaws dropped as they saw the encounter, Lightning Tile the most.

In a fit of jealous rage, she made her way up the podium, slapping Dash hard on the place she received the kiss.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY STALLION!" She yelled out. Soarin gasped, as Dash winced in pain from the hit. He glared hard at Lightning Tile, and stepped in front of Rainbow Dash.

"HEY! GET AWAY FROM MY FIANCÉ!" He yelled out. Everypony in the room gasped.

"What? Fiancé?" Lightning stuttered. Dash glared at her.

"Yeah.. Fiancé. You got a problem with that?" She said, standing besides Soarin. Lightning looked between them with a shocked expression.

"Hmph! This isn't over, Rainbow Dash!" She said, stomping out of the stadium. Dash and Soarin chuckled, as Spitfire came up to them.

"Fiancé? You two are getting married? When did this happen?" She asked them.

"Uh... We got engaged almost a year ago..." Soarin said uncertainly. Spitfire's eyes widened.

"But! You know the rules!" She said. "You can't!"

"Please, Spitfire! It won't be a distraction! I promise!" Dash insisted. Spitfire sighed.

"Look, I really shouldn't be doing this..." She started.

"Please?" Soarin asked, holding his hooves out. Spitfire sighed.

"I can tell you guys care for each other a lot..." She said. Dash and Soarin both nodded.

"Oh... Alright..." She said, earning herself a hug from both ponies. She chuckled, and let go.

"Hehe... Welcome to the Wonderbolts, Rainbow Dash."
