The Horn 6- Season 1
New Town, New Roomate, and New Relationships.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight felt awkward all over herself. Moving to Ponyville was one thing, but moving in with another mare that shared her manestyle and had a deep crush on her... this took the cake. And, as it turns out, though Celestia allowed Twilight & her friends to still be together (along with Moondancer, who acted as Twilight's shadow), she wanted Twilight to apologize to the residents that slaved over the Summer Sun Set celebration on her behalf. While Celestia would do this, her sunburns were really bad, and she wanted Twilight to at least get acquainted with the other ponies she wanted her student to befriend earlier. Both Moondancer & Twilight, along with Spike, took whatever they needed before stepping on the royal chariot to depart to Ponyville. Coming onto the balcony before they left was Shining Armor, who still had outlines of the chains around his coat, but was unharmed.
"Shining!" Twilight greeted, running to her brother and hugging him.
"Aw, hey Twilie," he replied "I heard how you saved Equestria from Nightmare Moon."
"I did, but not alone. I had some help."
"You mean with your friends? Hey Moondancer."
"Hey." She replied. Twilight looked between the two.
"You both know each other?" she asked
"Yeah." Shining Armor answered "I went to Moon Dancer multiple times to find a book about combat training."
"So that's where my book went!" A deep, yet strangely attractive voice spoke from around the corner. Out from the corner was another mare who's mane color was similar to Moondancer's, but was a bit brighter and tie up in a bun.
"Cappuccino!" Moondancer cheered, running and hugging to the other mare.
"Hey little sis," she spoke in that same deep voice "Moving away with your lover, eh?" Twilight and Shining Armor stared at Cappuccino awkwardly. Shining then turned to Twilight.
"You and Moondancer are-?" He began to ask.
"No!" Twilight interrupted "No, not really. It's... its new, actually, I mean, I didn't know until-"
"Hey, it's alright, Twi. Love works in many strange ways."
"But I'm not in love! This is just surprising in so many ways."
"But aren't surprises the best thing, though?" Moondancer asked, leaning into Twilight's space. Twilight leaned back, sweating nervously.
"Uh... not all surprises are great, Moondancer. Nightmare Moon surely wasn't."
"True, but what about us saving Equestria?"
"You both saved Equestria!?" Cappuccino asked in surprise "Heh, I'm quite surprised, Moondancer. First, you get your lover, then you save Equestria together. Who knew?" She turned to Shining Armor, who stared at her awkwardly. "What? Is it the voice?"
"...Yes." He nodded.
"I'm just born that way, okay. I'm normal in every other way. But I do say, I love a stallion in armor." Shining Armor took a step to the side.
"Uh... I'll see you soon, LSBFF."
"I'll see you too, BBBFF." Twilight replied.
"And I guess I'll see you soon, sis?" Cappuccino asked
"Sure, Big sis," Moondancer replied "plus, Twilight and I have a lot to catch up on." Her eyebrows moved up & down, suggesting something. Spike entered with his luggage, but gagged at Moondancer's comment.
"Hello! Baby Dragon here!" He yelled.
"Oh. Sorry."
The trip to Ponyville was strange, to say the least. While Twilight and Spike were fine with Flying, but Moondancer shivered like a foal's very first Nightmare Night. She jumped and held onto Twilight in a tight grip of a hug that, for a lack of better words, felt like a Minotaur's tight hug. How Twilight didn't went unconscious was anypony's guess, but when they landed, Moondancer jumped off and began to kiss the floor.
"Ground!" She yelled, kissing it. "Sweet ground! How I miss you so much!"
"Being over dramatic, much?" Spike asked bluntly.
"It's not if you're afraid of heights." Twilight spoke, rubbing her throat in a raspy voice.
"Darn straight!" Moondancer replied, hugging the floor. "I never want to do that again! Not even if Equestria is invaded from other creatures!"
"Well you should've took the train."
"But I don't want to leave you alone, Twi." Twilight groaned in frustration.
"Okay, we need to set some ground rules! Let's unpack first, then cover the rules."
House ground rules.
1) We are not in a relationship. We are friends/housemates/acquaintances sharing the same home.
2) Unless we decide to further our relationship or need to do something urgent, we will not be together any longer other than getting ready for the morning & sleeping at night and/or hanging out with our friends.
3) We will switch who watches over the library every day.
4) Same concept, but with teaching Spike. He's a baby dragon, so he's not old to go to school yet and the other foals will probably be frightened of him
5) Watch our language around Spike. If we swear, put money in the swear jar!
6) Unless we have a sleepover at our house, we will not sleep together on the same bed.
7) Tell each other what we're buying. With the exception of our birthdays & Hearths Warming, we will spend very little money on anything else but groceries.
8) No kissing. EVER
Moondancer frowned at the last rule.
"Twilight," she whined "I'm fine with the other rules, but the last?" Twilight sighed as she placed her satchel on the floor.
"Look, Moondancer," she replied "I'm fine with us being friends. I like you, I really do, but I'm not sure if you and I were meant for each other."
"But you don't know that until we try."
"I... I don't know what to say! The fact that you've had a crush on me, how you stepped up to Nightmare Moon/Princess Luna next to me, and kissing me on my cheek! I have no idea what to think right now!" she sighed but placed her right hoof on Moondancer's shoulder "Look, let's just take this slow, okay? I think you're going through... a phase right now."
"You're saying I'm not really in love with you?"
"Yes... no... maybe. Ugh, it's complicated. If you're into other mares, I'm fine with it, but I'm not so sure myself. I'm fine with us living together, just don't try anything crazy while I'm here. Until I'm ready, and share some of the feelings you have for me back to you, let's just go on with our days as friends, okay?"
"...Okay."
"Good. Our friends should be here be the end of the day, so let's go and find these other ponies that Celestia wants to apologize to, but can't from her sunburn."
"Gotcha. Just let me unpack some of my stuff, then we'll go."
"I understand." She turned and left. Spike came in, carrying the basket he slept in.
"Psst! Spike!" He stopped and turned to Moondancer.
"Yeah?" he asked
"What are some of the things Twilight into? Pony wise?"
"...You mean like looks?" She nodded. "Well... I've seen her gawked time & time again whenever she sees some stallions with either an orange-yellow coat or blue mane... looks up a lot whenever a pegasus flies over... and I guess with Shining armor, has deep respect for any guardsmen."
"Crab-apples!"
"Though she really loves anypony with a love for knowledge and has fair knowledge of Starswirl the Bearded. Talk about being a geek."
"Ah-Ha! So I have a chance with her!?"
"...What?"
"Nothing!" Moondancer ran out with a hop in her legs. Spike picked up the list from the floor, regarding the rules.
"...OH! That's... strange. Yet, I kinda expect it."
An Orange-yellow pegasus stallion with a blue mane stood at the sun burnt princess, the lunar princess, and another pink princess, but who's mane didn't flow like Celestia's, but instead looked like it came straight from a candy shop.
"What do you mean I'm not going to become a prince!?" He asked in shock.
"I'm sorry," Celestia replied "you really are a good soldier, probably the best of the newest recruits, but she's claimed."
"That can't be it! I thought that was her twin sister, or something."
"You and I both." Luna replied
"It's her choice." the other pink princess spoke "But I will give you this promise; if she and Moondancer aren't in love with each other by the time the Crystal empire returns, then you'll be able to win her heart."
"...But what happens when they do fall in love?"
"Then... I don't know, I guess you'll get your own captain's quarters?"
"That's not very reassuring."
"Well I'm the princess of love, not the princess of reassurance."
"And how long is this going to take?"
"Give or take a year or two." Celestia answered.
"TWO YEARS!?!?!? You're saying I have two years until I can meet Twilight, and HOPE that she will fall in love with me at first sight!?"
"Hey! I said give or take a year or two. Not everything is set in stone; I learned that the hard way."
"Now why don't you go and train, Flash Sentry." the princess of love spoke "You want to look good if she loves you, right?"
"...Sure, Princess Cadence." Flash grumbled to himself, turning and walking out of the throne room.
"And you can't meet her face-to-face! Meeting her will ruin your destiny!"
Stupid Moondancer, taking my destiny to becoming a prince! He thought to himself Unless... of course! She never said I couldn't meet her face-to-face with a disguise! Father, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna need your sky-ship and follow your hoofsteps. Captain Flash II is here, and he's rob every town TWICE!!! He ran out of the doors, the unicorn guards slamming it behind him as he laughed his way out. Cadence turned her head to the side and blinked with a confused look.
"He's sure excited. And by the way, Celestia, why are you-?"
"I was banished to the sun." Celestia interrupted.
"...Oh. I'm sorry."
"Don't be. I just hope this color goes away and mother doesn't see this."
Out in the depths of space, Celestia's mother, a giant alicorn with a coat that's much cleaner than Celestia's with a red mane that was as elegant as her posture, saw her daughter with her pink coat, smiled, then laughed.
Author's Note
Moondancer's sister never spoke, so I thought it'd match.
Going with Alternate universe & destiny change here, but Flash will come back soon enough.
