David and Aiden: A story of a happy couple
Story #6: The Gift of a Ring
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt was a sunny, yet pretty cold day. The jewelry shop was open to all who may come in. The front door opened, and Aiden walked out with a small black box. Inside the box was a 3,000 bit ring. In just three days, it would be the anniversary of David and Aiden's relationship. And the best gift Aiden could think of was to finally show that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his one and only.

Aiden walked into the house. He could hear his true love shout "Fuck!" and "Shit!" every now and then as he played Castlevania on his Nintendo. Aiden laughed and started upstairs as he needed to hide the ring quickly. After he hid it, he jumped when David said "Hey darling."
"Hey, David," Aiden said, trying to hide his anticipation,"You were kinda loud there."
"Yeah, no shit," David said with a chuckle,"Castlevania's one difficult game. Don't play it without practice!" David began to laugh a bit.
"Well, don't worry," Aiden began,"There are games much harder than that. I know."
David went up to Aiden,"Well, that's not really a worry." David said as he hugged Aiden close,"Our anniversary is in a few days, and nothing can spoil it, now can it?"
"No, nothing can," Aiden replied. The two went into a passionate, yet quick kiss.

Two days passed, and Aiden was in his room as David was at work. Aiden was standing in the mirror (which, to the audience, looked like Aiden was looking at them), practicing his lines.
"David?' Aiden said to "himself".
Audience: YES, HONEY?
"I've been wanting to ask you..."
Audience: UH-HUH?
"Well, I really want to... spend the rest of my life with you..."
Audience: I KNOW YOU DO. I WANT TO DO THE SAME!
"And I can't do that... unless..."
Audience: C'MON! SPIT IT OUT!
"Guys!" Aiden told the audience,"I can't focus if you guys are shouting random abnoxious things! Well, David, will you marry me?"
Audience: AWW! YES I WILL!
"Well, at least you guys are supportive," Aiden replied.

Aiden stood in front of the building. There was music playing, and lights were faintly seen inside. David had asked the restaurant he worked at if they could have a Couple's dance and sing on that day. His boss allowed it.
Aiden stood outside, waiting for his love.
"Aiden," A light voice called his name. Aiden looked over, and saw a mare with long, blonde hair, and a red dress. "She" wore a dark red lipstick, and had "her" eyelashes done with mascara.
"Hello," Aiden replied,"I don't believe I know you, ma'am."
"Aiden, It's me David." David said in his normal voice.
"Oh! Sorry, i didn't know." Aiden said surprised," Wow, you look just like a female! I didn't even recognize you."
David blushed a bright red, "Thank you." He stood next to Aiden, and the two walked into the restaurant, and took their (usual) seats. The same ones they sat in on their first date. There was already two glasses of champagne on the table. There was a couple on stage singing "I can't help Falling In Love with You" by Elvis Presley. As the two finished, all the ponies in the area stomped their hooves to make a clapping sound. Aiden looked at David, and wondered what to say.
"I like your dress." Aiden finally said.
"Thanks," David replied,"Rarity made it for me. She didn't mind it."
"Alright, everypony!" The host said on stage," We have a couple here tonight. It's their anniversary, and lets all show them some love, as they asked to sing tonight."
Aiden suddenly jumped to that sentence,"I never asked that!"
"I know," David replied,"I did.
I wanted to sing that one song you like. 'Lifted' by Lighthouse Family. C'mon, Aiden. It'll be wonderful.
Aiden shuddered, but went with David onto the stage. As the crowd went silent, David took his place at his piano, and Aiden stood there nervously holding the microphone with his magic. David began to play.
"Lifted" By Lighthouse Family. (original song:
)
David: I'd really love to be alone without all the
Ache and pain and the April showers
But it ain't long before I long for you, like a
Ray of hope, coming through the blue moon
Aiden: When it all gets dark again
The whole thing falls apart I guess
It doesn't really matter 'bout the rain
'Cause we'll get through it anyway
We'll get up and start again
Both: 'Cause we could be lifted, lifted, lifted
We could be Lifted
From the shadows, lifted
Oh we could be, lifted up today
Lifted all the way, you and I forever
Baby, lifted, lifted, lifted, hey
Aiden: It's undisturbable the peace we found
In a bright new space up above the clouds
Everything is understandable
You don't have to say anything too loud
David: When all our luck runs out again
We're brought back down to solid ground
I wouldn't say I'm mad about the rain
But we'll get through it anyway
We'll get back to the start again
Both: 'Cause we could be lifted, lifted, lifted
We could be lifted
From the shadows, lifted
Oh we could be, lifted up today
Lifted all the way, you and I forever
Baby, lifted, we could be lifted, we could be lifted, hey
We could be lifted, we could be lifted, we could be lifted
You and I forever
We could be lifted, we could be lifted, yeah we could be lifted
We could be lifted up to new horizons
Lifted, lifted up today, lifted all the way, yeah we could be lifted
We could be lifted, from the shadows, we could be lifted
Lifted up to new horizons
When it all gets dark again, it doesn't really matter 'bout the rain
When it all gets dark again, it doesn't really matter 'bout the rain *Song ends*
The crowed cheered as the two walked off stage after bowing to them. Before the couple got to their table, David quickly stopped Aiden.
"Aiden, there's something I want to show you." David said. He led Aiden to a locked door, and pulled out a ring with three keys on it. One Aiden recognized as the key to his house, but the other two were a mystery. David used one of the keys to open the door. When the door swung open, Aiden saw one of the most beautiful sights he ever saw.
"Wow," Aiden gasped," It's so... beautiful."
"I know," David replied,"I usually come here on breaks."
The sight was like no other. There was a stream of water with small waterfalls filling it up. The whole place was lighten up by small lanterns, and it was almost like there was nothing else there, but David and Aiden admiring it's beauty. Aiden realized that now was the time to ask David's hoof in marriage. He took David, and slowly kissed him like he kissed no other. The two closed their eyes and felt nothing but love and passion for each other. Suddenly, Aiden flinched as he felt a small cube-like object fall out of his pocket. He quickly let go of David, and watched as the small black box holding the ring fall over the ledge, and into the river bellow. It was gone, and possibly, nowhere to be found.
"I know, right?" David began as he stood next to Aiden, not realizing what had just happened," It's beautiful."
Aiden didn't want to spoil it, and he didn't want to take his sadness out on David, especially not at this moment,"Y-yeah. It is..."

After having dinner, the two walked home. Aiden was trying his best not to think about the issue. Yet he had a hard time doing so. So much, David notice, yet he didn't really pay any attention. Aiden wanted to break the surprise, but he was nervous to.
"David?" Aiden asked.
"Yes, darling?" David replied.
"If I... or anypony that is, wanted to ask your hoof in marriage, but all they did was ask, with no ring, would you accept there request?"
"Well," David began to answer," It can't be just anypony. It has to be somepony very special."
Aiden sighed, and walked in front of David, holding his hoof. "Well, you see. David, I... I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but... well... you see, I had a ring, but I lost it in that river by the restaurant. I really wanted you to have it, I..." he stopped as David put his other hoof on his mouth to silence him.
"I do." David said.
"What do you mean?" Aiden asked in confusion.
"I know that you want to ask me. And my answer..." David started to tear in his eyes, with his voice breaking,"is yes. I want to be you husband Aiden. Your love matters more than a diamond on a ring of gold. I want to spend my life with you! I LOVE YOU!" David held Aiden close as he sobbed tears of happiness. Aiden hugged him back, and was left with shock, yet he was happy. He began to cry as well, and held David close like he never had.
"Thank you David." Aiden said.
"So where's the ring?" David asked.
"David." Aiden replied, annoyed.
"Just kidding" David giggled. The two held each other close as they kissed each other deeper than the ocean.
