The origin to how it started was an old folklore that took place many years, one of the ancients that represents the element of Dark Magic was known as the Dark Magician (No, no, not the one from Yu-Gi-Oh). It said that the Dark Magician gave all its might and power to destroy all of what everypony feared but sadly only prevented them due to using all its powers. The Dark Magician slowly turned into a spirit that is said to appear once every October thirty-first at mid-night. But the sliver lining of its sacrifice, is that it increased everyponies bravery and were able to attempt to face what they fear the most. In honor what the Dark Magician did and sacrifice, they announced the first annual Shadow Falls and everypony dresses up on what they truly fear the most and attempt to face it. And that is the origin of Shadow Falls.
