Deaths True Light

My name is Alexander, and this is how I became a living black lantern, and how my girlfriend Elizabeth became a white lantern. The two of us are currently in stone, where we were pinned against each other (literally)  do to the princesses of bitchiness Celestia.

One thousand years ago

We went to a comic con cosplaying as a black, and white lanterns, we made the outfits ourselves but couldn't afford rings. We were walking at the con, until Elizabeth saw a booth with a black, and white lantern battery cells, She pulled me over to admire the craftsmanship of the replicas.

“Wow” I said as we examine them. “You want me to buy them?” I asked Elizabeth.

"Heck yeah I want to buy them." She answered. I smiled at her attitude, as the owner of the stand came over. He was a big guy with a blue overcoat.

“How much, for the two battery cells?” I asked him.

"I'd say about... 20 bucks each." He answered. I dug into my pockets, and pulled out 40 dollars, and handed it to him. "I see you don't have power rings, well that's a shame, but I might have some in this box," he said as he pulled out the box he was talking about. "And I like the costumes so I'll give these to you, free of charge."

“Dude, you da best.” I was d happily, as we took the rings, and put them on.

"Wow, these things are awesome, they look so realistic too." Elizabeth said with eagerness in her tone.

“Yeah, these are awesomely realistic.“ I said as the two rings began to glow. “Wow, they even glow.”

"Wait something's not right, I feel... weird." She said as she fell down into unconsciousness. I watched helplessly as Elizabeth fainted, I turned to the booths owner.

“What's, going on!!” I asked frantically as I to begin to fall into darkness.

"Well I can't tell you much, but have a nice trip." He said as he waved his hand, and I fell into complete darkness.

I saw nothing but blackness in every direction, I couldn't move but I could still hear a voice in the darkness.

“Alexander, you are no longer among the living, I am death hand, I am your master. You will do as I say, your girlfriend is now a white lantern, and your enemy, she will never accept you. You must kill her.” the voice/death hand said.

I was in shock, I was dead, and Elizabeth was a white lantern! I was supposed to kill her!

“Never! I will never harm Elizabeth I don't care if she doesn't accept me , I won’t, I will never in a million years harm her!” I screamed.

“We will see; I have a bet for you then, I'll let you use the black lantern ring when you are alive, however if you do harm her when you are alive ,YOU WILL WORK FOR ME FOREVER!!” Death hand yelled. I was contemplating the idea, if I hurt Elizabeth at all while I'm alive, I'll have to be used to create, or help with a new blackest night.

“Deal, no matter what, I WILL NOT HARM HER, OR ANYONE THAT IS ALIVE, I WILL BE A BETTER LANTERN THAN YOU!!” I exclaimed before the world became bright.

I awoke in the middle of a forest, and I noticed the black lantern battery cell. “Ring, how much charge do you have?”

“This unit has 1.0% charge, recharging recommended, speak the oath.”

“Mothers cry, and infant's wail

Hearts of the living are our holy grail

Darkest night hear my cry

The dead shall rise, the living die!” The ring stated loudly.

I heard the oath, that I knew would be a give away for panic. “Is, there a way that I can make my own path?”

“Indeed, the bearer of this ring has the opportunity, to make his own path.” I put the ring into the black battery cell, and began my Oath!

“In blackest night, in brightest day,

beware those who turn to evils way,

for without darkness there is no light,

here  me now, Shadows might!” I yelled into the sky, the battery cell glowed, and the ring beept.

“Power level 100%” it stated.

“Good, now locate white lantern power ring.” I said.

“Scanning, white lantern ring is currently within the perimeter of the town located on top of that mountain. “ I looked towards the location, and was ready to fly.

“I, have also detected green, and blue lantern rings.” My ring stated.

So we aren't the only two lanterns on this world, I'm guessing this will be difficult. I thought.

“Ring, what is the dominant species, on this planet?” I asked.

“The dominant species, is anthropomorphic ponies.”

“Ponies!?” I yelled confused. “So, I'm in an anthro version of equestria?”  I was about to fly, but if ponies see me flying without wings, then they would freak.

“Ring, can you disguise me, as a minotaur?” I questioned.

“I shall comply.” It said shifting my suit into a minotaur disguise. Seeing as minotaurs can't fly, I decided to take the train. on my way to the train station I found the white power battery. In the short amount of time it took to get there, I was able to stop a train robbery without revealing myself. I arrived at the castle, and requested an audience with the princesses, and the one in white.

-----Elizabeth's point of view, a few moments before--------

Elizabeth woke up to find herself in a hospital room. She pushed the button for assistance, and to her surprise an anthro pony entered. The nurse instructed her on what happened. Apparently, she had been found unconscious at the entrance. She was now in the middle of the throne room talking with the princesses.

“So, what is your name white lantern?” Celestia asked.

“Elizabeth.” I answered.

“And, what are you doing here?” Luna questions.

“To be honest, I'm not sure.” I answered as her ring began to beep ‘black lantern ring detected, searching for this unit.’ It replied.

“What, there’s a black lantern here?” I said out loud.

“What!!! The black lanterns are back!!” Luna, and Celestia yelled in unison.

“What do you mean their back, did this happen before?” I asked.

“The black lanterns have been here before when death hand first started to take over with the blackest night. However do to the joint powers of the other lantern corps they were defeated. “ Celestia explained.

“But not before taking the life of our mother.” Luna finished.

“Well whoever this black lantern is, I'll pummel ‘em to the ground!” I bellowed.

“Thank you.” Celestia said as the ring beeped again ‘black ring outside of main throne room doors’ the ring said, as a guard told the princesses about the minotaur.

“Bring him in.” Celestia ordered. The guard compiled as they lead this ‘minotaur’ into the room, I asked him the first question as the ring telepathically told me that the black ring was with him.

“Who are you, and why do you have the ring of death?!” I asked with steel in my tone.

“Do you not recognize me Elizabeth?”  He said surprising me.

“How did you know my name?” I asked.

“Oh come on my disguise can't be that good.” He said.

“Wait, that's a disguise?” I questioned.

“Yup, I figured it would be better to disguise myself in order to not scare ponies.” He shrugged.

“Then can you do me a favor and take off the disguise?” I asked.

“But of course, anything for my lovely girlfriend, ring disengage disguise.” He said as the disguise turns into a site revealing himself, as… Alexander!

“Alexander, I thought you were back at Comic Con?” I asked feeling really stupid as I realized what I had asked.

“Well, I think the guy who sold us these rings had something to do with why we're here.” He said.

“IT DOES NOT MATTER, HE IS A BLACK LANTERN, HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED.” Celestia shouted.

“INDEED, YOU SAID THAT YOU WOULD PUMMEL ‘EM TO THE GROUND!! “ Luna said with the canterlot voice.

“Hey, don't throw me in with the rest of the black lanterns, I'm still alive.” He said trying to defend himself.

“Yeah, that's true.” I said, trying to defend him.

“THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE, ALL BLACK LANTERNS ARE DEAD, THEY CANNOT LIVE!!!” Celestia exclaimed.

“Unless the ring was with them before it got charged.” He said.

“Yeah, so can you trust him for one second?” I asked them.

“NO WE SHALL NEVER TRUST A BLACK LANTERN!! THEY KILLED OUR MOTHER, WE WILL NOT LET A SECOND DARKEST NIGHT HAPPEN!!” Luna bellowed.

“Can I just point out that what you just said, was kind of… dumb, considering that if he was evil, then why isn't he attack you as we speak?” I asked them. They seemed to ponder this for a moment until Luna got angry again.

“We cannot be absolutely sure that he isn't leading us into a false sense of security, trying to get one of the only people that can defeat him on his side.” She spat.

“Or he could be telling the truth, and you could just be jumping the gun on your hasty judgement.” I said, I maybe a stubborn knucklehead at times, but I have room for some sort of logic.

“Thank you honey, by the way I found your battery.” He said handing it to me.

“Thank you Allie.” I said, I knew he hated that little pet name I gave him, since he's now as red as a tomato.

“Seriously, in front of royalty, granted it reminds me of the movie aladdin but still.” He tried to protest.

“No, we won't listen to this anymore, it's time to make you pay!!!!” Celestia shouted as she and Luna used their magic to pin us back to back.

“Well, Alex, shall we beat some sense into them?” I asked.

“How, were pinned by their magic.” He reminded me.

“We have rings, let's use them.” I said.

“True, however if we fight them, we'll be in more trouble.” He said.

“Then, what are we supposed to do?” I asked.

“Let's let them do what they want for now, we can deal with them later.” He said.

“Very well.” I said.

“IF YOU TWO ARE WORKING TOGETHER, WE WILL DEFEAT YOU BOTH.” celestia shouted. Luna, and Celestia took out six gems, and sent magic into the purple colored one.

“NOW, FACE THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY!!” Luna shouted as we were encased in stone.

Present day

“Well, at least we'll be freed soon.” I told Elizabeth.

“I wish it wouldn't take so long, also how do you know?” She asked.

“Simple, this world might be an anthropomorphic version, but it's still equestria.” I told her as the CMC, and their class walked up.

“Miss belle, what are those?” A student asked.

“Thats a good question Screwball, these two are known as Light and Shadow… why the are named as such is a mystery.” Sweetie Belle said.

“Ah think ah remember Ms Cheerilee saying they were a couple of lanterns, whatever they are.” Applebloom said.

“I remember her saying that they were a black, and white lanterns. She said that the black lantern controls death itself, and the white controls life.” She said to the students scarring them.

“Scootaloo! stop scaring them, do you want to end up covered in cotton candy again!?” Sweetie Belle said while motioning in Screwballs direction.

*CRACK*

“Well, I was trying to actually teach them something!” Scoots shouted.

“Um, Girls?” Applebloom said while backing away from the statues.

“What!?” Scootaloo shouted.

*CRACK*  *CRACK*  *BOOM!*

“Not again!…” Sweetie Belle said before starting to evacuate their students.

“FREEDOM!!!” Elizabeth shouted.
