February 23, 2019 - Coast of Nagasaki - U.S.S. Las Vegas/Pegasus
I am Foxtrot, commander of the United States Pacific Command and Force 26, which is a group of 26 highly trained valiant soldiers named from A to Z in the Phonetic Alphabet. I was given leadership of Force 26 in the year 2015 as World War III began, and this year I was given full command of the U.S. Pacific Command Fleets after the previous leader stepped down while blaming it on the war as it begins to ruin the lives of the nations that the global terrorists rule.
We are currently on our way to end what has brought our friends and families down. ISIS have taken over governments, jumped from land-to-land, and it ends now while they try to take over the continent of Asia, including the country of Japan. I am joined by my admirals Echo, Delta, and November to do so. Just during daybreak I've requested for the fleet to split up between my nine ships and the rest of the two hundred and ninety-eight out there. We've stepped off of carrier Las Vegas and taken the U.S.S. Pegasus, a littoral combat ship, with us to guide the U.S.S. Las Vegas into the Osaka Bay.
The sinking of former aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bellingham is what put the U.S.S. Las Vegas' position as the mother ship. Now that we're split from the Pacific Fleet, the Las Vegas holds its position as a regular aircraft carrier, led by a littoral combat ship.
We lead the way as dusk begins to close in on us, though our connections with all military personnel are currently strong. We've made sure that our speed was just right to the point in which we would meet at the Osaka Bay at the same time, while being able to clear the coasts. Other oceanic commands have held their place and kept control of the waters as the terrorists went hiding, and possibly waiting for just the right time to perform lightning war over waters.
It was time to liberate Japan, respectfully take control of Asia and make this region home once again to the people whose ancestors claimed hundreds of years ago. We're just lucky they haven't used nuclear warfare on us and possibly cause a fallout in ground zero.
ISIS air force lacks experience in the use of aircraft. As I and Force 26 have seen before, the U.S. Air Force's bold group of the six Equestrian Flyers took them down like swatting flies, that was unless they had stolen pilots for their official service from another country's armed forces. And so, I figured that after they were shot down by the Equestrian Flyers during the bombing Sofia, Bulgaria in August of 2016, that the United Nations would immediately put an end to their actions before they had control of entire countries. This was simply ignored.
The sun began to set beyond the horizon, and this was a moment for us to experience, even though we've seen it plenty of times, we'll never know when it'll be our last. However, once the sun disappeared, it was time for us to take action. Having only four people on a ship gave us the advantage to freely speaking among ourselves as we discuss our plans when daybreak arrives. Our technology has remained the same since we've gotten an update in 2015, except the U.S.S. Pegasus is far more advanced than the Independence, for it allows us to keep track of plans we've constructed and create an automatic route. So no one has to take control of the ship and we may be able to think three steps ahead of ISIS, as they remain two steps behind.
We've been working on our ideas for more than six hours. Delta and November had already fallen asleep, putting Echo and I in charge of manual navigation. The U.S.S Las Vegas sends out five stealth jets every twenty minutes just to assure that the waters were completely safe during midnight. It was four o'clock in the morning, and we controlled Pegasus while talking about off-topic stuff that eventually led us into talking about some weird ass topics.
"It's been a hell of a night, Foxtrot," says Echo.
"Damn right," I say while laughing at his previous jokes. "I don't even feel tired from all of this shit that's been going on."
"Right?" Echo began to put full attention on me. "This is the shit I'm talking about. Those naval personnel walk up to their admirals saying they tired and shit, when they have no idea what we have to do."
"Actually," I unacknowledged his thought. "The navy works their ass of just as much as we do. We're just given more missions to follow up on. What they don't understand is, we've lost members of Force 26, and when they're being replaced with someone who doesn't have the same personality as they originally had...the process repeats itself."
"Yea," Echo said in the most depressing way. "Even though they were lost in situations, all of them, even the new members weren't afraid to die for each other. We're like a family."
For once in my entire career while talking about death, I actually felt better than ever. We lost members of Force 26, but not one current member forgets them, or the moments we've spent in the past. I never kept them from being part of this family, and I will never forget them once they leave this family. Whether they chose to do so, or if they are lost in combat. Another KIA is a ASA "another sad admiral." So the conversation continues.
"You can say that again," I said.
"So," Echo said while giving eye contact. "Why do you think the ship we're guiding was named the U.S.S. Las Vegas."
"That's simple. The U.S.S. Las Vegas' previous name was the U.S.S. Mustang, but was changed due to its link to the Nevada section of the fleet."
"Gotcha," Echo says, then we both begin to crack up laughing.
"Yea," I said still laughing. "Just ask about how the Pegasus got its name."
"How?"
"Alright," I said while trying not to laugh. "I was hanging out with the designers as well as the previous commander who also invited the vice president. I put pictures of unicorns, and Pegasus' all over their work binders, they were staring at that shit. Glitter and everything! So after they finished the design, the vice president of the country said to name the ship the U.S.S. Pegasus. I was left with a big ass mess to clean up."
"What!?!" Echo said as he began to laugh his ass off, and eventually spilled his coffee in the trash. "That's the most weirdest shit I've ever heard you do. Ever since you told us you were gonna put the Lancer on the ship, I thought you were just bullshitting."
I took a sip of my coffee and said, "Yea, just in case we plan on deserting, we've got that."
"Damn brother," Echo said as he slapped my chest. "That's messed up, but at the same time, an adorable Foxtrot thing."
"Adorable. Really?"
I've honestly never felt so pumped in my life. We talked about the most random shit than ever before. We often talked about the plans with the military, being lied to by the government, and how much we love Barry Manilow. It all came down to us talking about ponies, deserting, and putting shaving cream on November's hand as he sleeps.
I was getting close to calling it a night, and so I told Echo that he didn't have to keep watch, the fleet was just around the island. He seemed to be far more concerned about how we were going to be ambushed, just like the U.S.S. Enterprise...which sank in 2017. So the U.S.S. Las Vegas is now the newest and largest aircraft carrier we've got, and I commanded the fleet to split up. Two ships split from the fleet, but having the power to stay afloat.
I yawned uncontrollably, and told Echo that I was going to get some sleep. I may be his commander, but he chooses the right from wrong in the force, and he chose right. We ended up having a small chat before my sleep. I was in the bunks, and he stayed there before keeping watch.
"I'm sure we're gonna win this," said Echo.
"I'm sure we are," I said as I began to feel more tired. "It's crunch time."
February 24, 2019 - Kii Channel - U.S.S. Pegasus/Las Vegas
I woke up with my ass obliterated, and I was nearly choked out by my own dog tags. Good thing that I don't suffer from sea sickness...that's until November shares his meal like mama bird. It triggers me to share the MREs I've eaten over sea. I tried to eat my food without thinking about it, again, it's too hard not to.
About our traveling status, turns out, I've been asleep for just the right amount of time to be at the Kii Channel. We aren't too far from the Osaka Bay. However, the rest of the fleet has contacted us about their travels, they were ambushed several times along the clearing. This put them back significantly, and forces us to wait. Our route was much more safer than expected, but we know better than to travel the Sea of Japan. Our asses would be teared up without a doubt, and it would take to long to come back around and join the fleet.
As we waited up to seven o'clock, the fleet had finally arrived, and they had a surprise for us as well. They were joined by the United Kingdom with their HMS Queen Elizabeth, South Korea with the last of their ships, and Japan with the last of their self-defense fleet as well. It looked like the entire Pacific Command had purchased more ships than usual.
"Foxtrot," the Captain says.
"Speaking," I said.
"I hope you're ready to command three hundred ships to put an end to those clowns."
"Let's set their asses on fire, and set these nations free."
The sun was descending very quickly at this time of day, what worried me the most was the furious storm that began to rage on. The
Night was already arriving as we finally reach Osaka Bay. The sun sets beyond the buildings of the city and mountains. Suddenly, a cruise missile shoots out and misses the Vegas by a couple feet. As the extremist's ships became visible, it began to rain fiery Hell upon us all. Ships had already began sinking around us, and the flames what kept the bay lit.
"Shit!" Echo yells. "November, get your ass to the big gun!"
November goes straight to the console, and rapidly fires at enemy ships around the bay. Delta too sent out fire support using one of our drones. ISIS went from dominating, to getting an ass whipping. Though we may be taking control, they had support along the way. The bay became an explosive playground for us and our rivals.
"The Osaka Bay is starting to look like something made by Michael Bay!" I yelled at Echo.
We have our laughs during battle, not knowing if it would be our last.
Our ship was already running low on shells to fire. Delta checked the cargo bridge as I took control of the drone. The drone had sunk four ships and shot down three helicopters, but it seemed as if they were endlessly regenerating on the other side of the cities. Suddenly, cruise missiles shot out from Osaka, and damaged the tower of SSBN Los Angeles. As the ships came closer to ours, our very last shell that we could find was fired. The battleship that was about to destroy the Pegasus went up into a ball of flames, but its flames were quickly controlled by the storm, which has been getting belligerent.
The storm then began to rage on, and threw the Pegasus out of control. The ships damage console was loading up a shit ton of errors, this began to worry us. The ship then began to swirl around with its nose pointed towards an origin within the bay as if we were going down a whirlpool. Surprisingly they have missed every shot they took at the Pegasus, not even the Las Vegas took damage. We are in a happy-terrified mood as the ship began to go underwater, then we were thrown around the control room simultaneously.
Whenever I was able to look through the windows, I couldn't see a thing. There was a mist in the air that completely obstructed our view, but my attention was quickly turned as I had gained control of myself in the whirlpool of Hell. I held onto the control box of the radio system and I could clearly see that November and Delta had been knocked out. Echo grabbed onto a pipeline, but lost his grip and got thrown towards the window. I look as the water began to cover the ship, but my attention goes to the radio, as I receive a transmission coming straight to us.
"Pegasus!" the captain yells through the microphone. "Do you read me?"
The captain repeats the question as we were still being tossed around. His voice was breaking up from connection, and lightning struck every part of the bay. We went under with the last vision of ships sinking, then darkness. When will I wake? I think to myself. Where will I wake?
