The clock

Previous Chapter

Your eyes closed, and a blanket around your body giving you a warm sensation, that fills you with comfort. The only other sensation being the sound.

Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...

You feel yourself unable to fall to rest because of the clock. But is the sound really that annoying? no, it's not that, you know it's something else, but what could it be? Your thinking only makes it harder to fall fully asleep. So you decide to end the mystery as quickly as possible.

Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...

The clock. The wood clock. My clock? Now something is beginning to form. Did you even own a clock? you concluded just a few minutes ago, that you couldn't recall everything in your house. But that was normal. Old boxes, images, vases and figurines. Sometimes you found out that it wasn't yours. You get reminded of the accidents that had happened when the punch had gotten to you on other occasions. Like opening the bag the next day to discover things that aren't yours. You find it weird that people keep smuggling stuff with you, when you leave from parties and gatherings. But did someone take the step further and installed a wooden clock in your house? Could it perhaps just be a gift? Maybe all of your "accidents" were just simply, gifts. Thinking about that you realize that gifts like that probably wasn't very likely. You know that you tend to grab things when you get drunk, and you know that you don't always discover it before several weeks later. So the clock being a gift is not very likely. Was this perhaps just another of your mistakes? No it couldn't be that either, because now you are certain that it's the first time you see it.

Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...

You come to the thought that maybe it isn't a think worthy situation. It's a free clock. You tend to just look out the window to get an idea. But now you have a clock, telling you what exact time it is. How lucky it is to be you. And with that you can again rest in peace, knowing that no matter if the clock was gifted, stolen, or just magically appeared. That it is a pretty nice looking clock...
