The life of the bolts

Chapter 2

Saying bye to her friends and family, Storm grabbed her saddle bags and set off to Clouds dale, that had drifted over to Canterlot.

Storm walked into the academy, and a colt was suddenly in front of her, going around her and inspecting her.

"Uhm can I help you?" asked Storm raising an eye brow.

"Nope!" exclaimed the colt saluting to her and walking away happily like an idiot who just got out of the bar.

"... Ignore him I just met him a few minutes ago and he's an idiot..." grumbled a mare that had at some point made her way beside Storm.

"Oh uhm ok..."

Seeing the expression on her face, the mare spoke up, "Oh right, I'm Flaring!"

"Uhh nice to meet you, I'm Icy Storm..." mumbled Storm.

"Icy Storm... I've heard of that name before..." thought Flaring out loud.

"Oh uh I'm mostly known as Rainbow Dash and Soarin's daughter..." said Storm as Flaring gasped.

"Yeah you must be! It's no surprise your in the academy." giggled Flaring.

"Really? Well uhh thanks."

"No problem, anyway you know where we have to go?" asked Flaring.

"Not really I was going to go to my mums office and ask but I'm not really sure if shes in there at this time." sighed Storm, as on cue, Rainbow walked in the hall.

"Oh Storm! And uhh you! Come over here!" exclaimed Rainbow.

"Flaring."

"Oh right, anyway go in there and yeah, plus STORM don't go wondering off like you always do I gotta get my lazy team mates that are lazy as I am!" snickered Rainbow poking Storm in the chest and running off.

"Heh your mums funny for a wonderbolt" mumbled Flaring.

"They're all idiots from what I've saw when I was 5" giggled Storm.

"Hey there Missy, I heard that" smirked Rapidfire from aside winking at her.

"Hey Rapid!" said Storm rolling her eyes and sticking her tongue out at him.

"Your mother got you hooked up with a mentor you'll enjoy by the way." snickered Rapidfire.

"What? My father? I'll enjoy him!" joked Storm.

"Uhhh no, I'm not aloud to tell, if your not careful I might tell your father that!"

"I uhm I wasn't joking!" lied Storm rubbing a hoof on the back of her neck.

"RAPIDFIRE WHY DON'T YOU GET YOUR HIND QUARTERS OVER HERE AND HELP ME WAKE UP OUR TEAM MATES?!" shouted Rainbow from outside the door.

"... Jeez, gotta run, cya." grumbled Rapidfire running out.

-After like every pony was there-

"EVERY PONY LISTEN UP!" shouted Spitfire.

"YEAH?!" shouted Blaze as Spitfire shot her sister a look whilst Blaze just smirked.

"Anyway, each of you will be assigned to a room by squad captain 3 Wave Chill, and toured by squad captain 2, Rainbow Dash, NOW OFF YOU GO TO THAT DOOR OVER THERE!" shouted Spitfire pointing to a door as they hesitated for a moment.

"I SAID NOW!" shouted Spitfire as they all quickly rushed over nervously.

"Way to scare them off in the first 30 seconds sis." snickered Blaze.

"You be quite." growled Spitfire.

Storm and Flaring were assigned to the same room, so they quickly dumped off their bags and went back to the main hall. (To wait for the others for the tour n stuff)

"They look pathetic..." whispered Blaze to Rainbow.

"One of them is my daughter y'now..." whispered Rainbow.

"Oh uhh yeah bye!" shouted Blaze rushing over to Wave.

Rainbow rolled her eyes and made her way over to the around 25 cadets.

"All of you here? GOOD! Any questions? No? GOOD! Now let's get this over with! Any problems with that? No? GOOD! FOLLOW ME!" shouted Rainbow. (Ok this is what one of my leaders in devon did, he asked stuff like that and said 'no? good, let's go!' LOL)

-After the tour-

"Now get settled in, training starts tomorrow at 12 flat. Come to the training grounds before 12 else your all dead, ask my daughter if you don't believe me! Heh also around the barracks, non training time, at ease!" smirked Rainbow saluting and flying off.

"Uhh is she lying?" asked a mare.

"Nope... believe me she can threaten when she can..." shivered Storm.

"Right, meet ya at our room at 9, k Storm?" asked Flaring.

"Uh huh, cya!" said Storm zooming down the corridors and by their dorm.

"Hey Stormie" smirked Soarin leaning against the wall by the stairs.

"Dad!" shouted Storm flying up to him and hugging him.

"Hey Storm, anyway not my rule, but no high speeds round the barracks, kay?" asked Soarin.

"How do I know it's not your rule?" snickered Storm.

"Because I would be dead if I didn't." grumbled Soarin rolling his eyes.

"What? Mum?" giggled Storm.

"Uhh yeah..." mumbled Soarin.

"I guess that's why mum didn't mention it in the tour." smirked Storm.

"Yeah, you know her breaking the rules all the time..."

"All the time?" huffed Rainbow appearing beside them.

"Hey mum!" exclaimed Storm.

"Hey kid, wanted to let you know your mentor is Fire Streak, trust me, you'll learn alot from him, I'll tell you when you're gonna start." said Rainbow.

"Cool! Fire's from your squad right?" asked Storm.

"Yeah he is." nodded Rainbow.

"Wait~ if YOUR going to tell me when, does that mean you'll be training us?!" asked Storm.

"Well yeah and so am I, for a week anyway, the other bolts aren't really free to." smirked Soarin.

"But that doesn't give you an advantage Storm."

"I know mum, I wanna join like you, with speed, agility, loyalty and all the other stuff!" exclaimed Storm.

"She's bound to have your element in her." smirked Soarin nudging Rainbow.

"Heh I feel something else in her but you'll find that out in the future Storm" smirked Rainbow

"What?" asked Storm as Rainbow took Soarin's hoof and took him away, smirking to her self as Soarin eyed her and shrugged going along with it.

-at 9-

Flaring walked into her and Storms room, closing the door behind her, Flaring gazed at Storm's things.

"Whoa... Storm is this all your stuff?" asked Flaring.

Storm perked up, dropping her pen from writing her letter to Ponyville, then replying, "Huh? Oh right, yeah it is, my parents might of been way too kind and got me literally everything I wanted growing up, but most of them I won in a competition or something."

"Cool..."

"Anyway what you been up to?" asked Storm.

"Oh I just found out every ponies names and a bit of their personalities."

"Oh uhh would you mind telling me them?" asked Storm as Flaring rolled her eyes.

"Ok fine, there's that colt who was really creepy called Slinging, he's like super crazy and he's seriously an idiot. That mare that asked if commander Dash was lying was called Hype, shes actually kinda normal for her name to be Hype, but her special talent is making ponies happy, a colt named Wind Swept, he's apparently the son of Misty Fly and Fire Streak, he seems a little careless when speaking to ponies, I haven't actually got to spoken to him but I heard him. There's two colts who are twins, Dynamite and Explosion, they're like really angry and didn't want to speak to any pony, all they said were 'no' or 'yes'. And the last two I met were mares called Ace and Whirling, best friends, Ace acts all cool like but shes kinda clumsy and sarcastic, but Whirling is kinda all calm and gentle saying sorry to ponies if they get harassed by Ace or something, shes kind of shy when you approach her though. And that's all I met really" smiled Flaring.

"That's alot to take in... but I think I got it!" smirked Storm as Flaring rolled her eyes and started unpacking.

"Who ya writing to?" asked Flaring.

"Best friends and my little siblings."

"You have little siblings?!" asked Flaring.

"Hmm? Yeah." shrugged Storm.

"I've never knew that! what are they called?" asked Flaring.

"Well the older one and the colt is called Shadow Spectrum and my little sister is called Spectra Glide."

"Cool! That never got to equestria..." smirked Flaring.

"Huh... Shadow's like 10 you'd at least expect rumours..." mumbled Storm.

"Well in the news they did suspect your mum was pregnant around 4 years after you were born, but it burned down when princess Twilight said she wasn't, guess it was for protection." shrugged Flaring.

"Hmmn maybe..."

(If you don't know, in my head canon, now in the actual show my mane 6 are like 14, 15 or 16 and the cmc are 10, Storm's 14.)

"Well I'm going to sleep, night!" said Flaring getting into bed and going to sleep.

Storm rolled her eyes and threw away the letter she wrote and got out another scroll and a quill.

Hey girls! I'm at the academy now, and I've just settled in, your probably reading this the next day since my mum doesn't go out at nights and it's like 9. I've met my room mate and shes really nice, I've also seen my parents, it's nice seeing them again, they're going to train us for this week! I'm sorry for leaving on such short notice, but I'm coming back in 2 weeks from now. Don't worry Harmony, I'm safe knowing your probably in your mothers mode and all freaking out. My mum said your mother was like you, but just shy and angry when she had to be. Anyway yeah, write me back please!
