Chapter 14: The Solution Part 1

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was a peaceful night in Maretropolis with no crimes happening tonight. However the Masked Matterhorn and Radiance hopped across the rooftops heading for a spot in town they were hoping not to go for their situation. Radiance turned to Matterhorn, worry on her mind. "Are you sure we need to see if she can help Twilight? There must be a dozen other ponies that could be of more help. And I really don't wanna think of this as using advice Terry's given us time and time again."

"We have to Rarity. She has the only guy that would be useful for this situation."

Radiance sighed as this may not end well. "If you say so." They approached the building they were looking for and Matterhorn knocked on the large metal door and a maniacal chuckle was heard inside. the door flew open and a few tentacles attempted to wrap around Twilight and Rarity only to be blocked by a shield construct Rarity made around her and Twilight. coming through the Door was the Mane-iac,. "Well isn't this a pleasant surprise, not the same without the other four but still pleasant. Have you finally come to surrender?"

Matterhorn stepped forward keeping her Poker face. "Actually we've come for your help."

The Mane-iac's jaw dropped and she blinked twice before answering. "Did you mean that or am I finally losing my mind?"

"I've been noticing Saddle Rager has started to smash things during our fights. By which I mean more than usual. some time she's gonna snap and everyone is screwed. I came up with the solution of putting her somewhere and letting her go nuts. We already did step one, we just need something for her to take it out on."

"No way I'm crazy enough to get killed like that."

"I mean your friend who has a certain history with Saddle Rager. In return for this we'll help you with one thing and one thing only."

Mane-iac grinned as an idea popped in her mind. "well I have been looking for help in taking out Diablo Corps' Night Club. You think you could spare Zapp and Filli-second?"

"Deal. So where is he?"

"Inside sleeping. But he'll be wide awake when I tell him his new job."

Radiance was astonished at how cooperative the Mane-iac was being right now. 'Maybe this day won't turn out so bad after all.' she thought.

Alfreda woke up in sweat but sighed in relief as he found himself in his nice damp- he stopped and checked his sheets, groaning at what he found.

Alfreda grabbed his sheets and walked down the stairs to where his bosses lair was, but past it and headed into the basement, where the washing machine was. He threw the sheets in there and smacked the side of the machine starting it up as he poured half of the detergent in there. "She can make such complex inventions and yet she can't fix a simple washing machine. But it could be worse, like having to be locked in a room alone with Saddle Rager."

"ALFREDA! GET UP HERE!"

"JUST A SEC!"

Alfreda made sure it was working and walked up the stairs, greeted by the sight of The Mane-iac, The Masked Matterhorn, and Radiance. "What'd you want boss?"

"Masked Matterhorn has asked me to give you to them for a for a plan they have and in exchange I with Zapp and Filli-Second on taking out that night club."

"Oh that sounds easy enough. It's not like you're leaving me alone in a room with Saddle Rager."

Matterhorn and Radiance gulped and looked at each other. Alfreda saw it and his pupil contracted as he realized it was exactly that. "Oh No! Despite my healing factor, I am not letting you try and kill me!"

"Alfreda wait-" Twilight was too late as Alfreda snapped his neck and collapsed.

Alfreda Owned Count: 11

The Mane-Iac simply shrugged. "Just take him he'll just heal up in time for you to do your thing."

Twilight and Rarity were dragging Alfreda into the near the room and stopped and Twilight her weight to give her half of him to go to some controls when Rarity complained. "How is it he looks so light and yet he's so heavy? I swear either his wires or his shell are made of lead."

"Just get him in there and then we can get this started." Twilight responded opening the door for Radiance when Alfreda woke up and moved a bit causing Rarity to collapse form the weight. Alfreda got up and dusted himself off. "How am I alive, I snapped my own neck 180 degrees."

"That is an interesting question that many ponies may want an answer to." Radiance said before she pushed him in and Twilight closed the door before he could turn around.

Alfreda looked around but couldn't see anything until the lights came on irritating him. "Geez that's bright. Wait a minute what did you guy's want me here for agai-" Alfreda stopped a he saw across from him a perfectly calm Saddle Rager and did the only plausible thing to do right now: Scream at the top of his lungs like a girl which suprisingly caused the pexiglass to vibrate a little.

Radiance and Matterhorn's ears dropped down in some pain by the scream. "STOP SCREAMING!" Matterhorn shouted into a microphone causing Alfreda to comply but whimper a little like a dog. "Now then, we're going to leave you in that room with Saddle Rager, and you're not coming out, until she has a little more control of herself."

"You can't that! This is a violation of my rights!" Alfreda argued.

"Of someone committing criminal activity?" Matterhorn said with a skeptic look.

"Touche. What do you want then?"

"Saddle Rager needs some stress relief since her fight with Zapp"

"That was real? I thought I was dreaming."

"It's a long story but the point is thanks to you now she's starting to become more aggressive. You're going to get her mad and take that out of her."

"Aggressive? Aggressive? I don't even know her identity, and I can already tell how much of a doormat she is. I saw her patrolling once and she keeled over with a yelp like a goat. She sat there for two hours. I know, because I left after she fell over, got a carrot dog went to the movies, came back, and she was still there!! I'm not going to be stuck here doing an impossible task. I mean look at her." Alfreda pointed to Saddle Rager who began to tear up. "She's already crying because it's true. Open the door."

"I'm not doing that." Matterhorn replied.

"Pretty please open it?" Alfreda asked trying to put on a puppy dog face.

"No."

"Don't make me scratch on the door like a dog." Alfreda said beginning to do so, not hearing a growling sound develop behind him.

"Um, Alfreda, I'd suggest turning around." Radiance suggested.

"What? Why?" Alfreda asked.

"She may have had problems in school and your little rant may have dug up some unfortunate memories."

"Say what?" Alfreda turning around, seeing Saddle Rager looking at him with angry blood red eyes, the tears beginning to dissipate. "Open the door, OPEN THE DOOR!"

Alfreda started to scratch on the door in panic before the then scratched on the glass in front of Matterhorn and Radiance then going back to the door.

"Cover your eyes! And let me out!" Alfreda yelled in panic before he turned around and saw Saddle Rager run at him roaring foaming at the mouth a little. "Mommy!"

He jumped out of the way as Saddle Rager's hoof slammed on the leaving a dent that grew slightly as she transformed as she then ran for Alfreda who kept his distance and continued to run. Alfreda got an idea and stood in front of the door then jumped as Saddle Rager swung almost tearing the door completely, but still leaving a rather large hole, which Alfreda jumped through, but fell short as his foot got trapped. Saddle Rager grabbed his foot, earning screams of terror as he was being dragged in, then held onto the frame as hard as possible, eventually causing his arms to tear off as he was pulled in.

Alfreda Owned Count: 12

Alfreda attached his arms back on and used them to try and futilely claw onto something only for Saddle Rager to raise him in front of her face. Alfreda was shivering in terror as Saddle Rager simply stared at him.

"Not in the face!"Alfreda brought his hand to cover it as she then raised her right hoof as hit him square in his face causing him to spin around. She then began to repeatedly punch him, even slam him around a little. In the back, a wirewolf in the colors of a timberwolf walked in with a plate of nachos in his claws he munched on some.

"I see you girls finally took my advice. So I can finally say what I've been waiting to say. I told-"

"Timberwolf you finish and I can show you the more creative ways to use my bracelets." Radiance told him.

"Okay." Timberwolf said immediately after. Alfreda was sent tumbling out of the room through the hole, his owned count firmly lodged in his back reading 17 as well as his leg being torn in strung like spaghetti and being pulled back. "Timberwolf..." Alfreda said grabbing Timberwolf's hands, pain bleeding in his voice. "Help...Me!"

"Don't touch my nachos." Timberwolf simply told him pulling his hands away as Alfreda was being pulled away but held onto the frame of the door, until he heard a cracking and gooey esq sound. The trio looked shocked, Radiance creating a trash can construct to vomit in.

"What's so bad?" Alfreda asked until he looked back, seeing Saddle Rager pulling at his leg, and his entrails begin to pull out from the hole created by his leg created. Alfreda screamed in agony as he tried to pull it back in as he held on the door but was pulled back into the room and slammed around. The trio looked on as Saddle Rager continued bearing on Alfreda, his organs falling out of the hole and falling across the room.

Timberwolf moved to the window and looked closer. "Ok, t-that's, that's very unsettling- Oh a floor waffle!" Timberwolf yelled grabbing the waffle off the floor and eating it. Timberwolf looked up just in time for Saddle Rager to roar as she lifted him up and ripped Alfreda in two, sending oil spilling everywhere as the rest of his organs went flying across the room. She then slammed Alfreda into the ground before finally delivering one of her strongest punches right into his face.

Alfreda Owned Count: 27

Saddle Rager finally calmed down and began to shrink, Twilight, Timberwolf, and Radiance looking on in shock and horror at the mess strewn around the room, Timberwolf then predictably throwing up the contents of his floor waffle and unfortunately his nachos.

"D-did it work?" Saddle Rager asked stepping forward, causing a squishing sound. She looked under her as saw she stepped in Alfreda's ruptured appendix. She looked around and saw the carnage she had delivered then looked behind her, seeing Alfreda, damaged to near death.

"Dear Faust!" Saddle Rager ran to his side appalled. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you like this."

"It's all right just total organ failure." Alfreda said before a heart monitor appeared on his chest. "Must think of... famous last words. Dammit I couldn't think of any." Alfreda then let out a gurgling noise as he fell back, his heart monitor shorting out before flat-lining. The high piercing sound of the beep slashed at Saddle Rager's heart as she realized she killed him.

The trio around her simply looked on in silence until Timberwolf fell to his knees in sorrow. "Who will make Timberwolf waffles whenever he threatens the former now?" He asked.

Many ponies, heroes and villains alike, we're gathering at the funeral, Alfreda's photo hung next to his casket being that of him unconscious on the ground while Zapp and Timberwolf stood over him with a fist ready.

"It kind of upsets the mood with the only picture we could find of him being that one." Zapp complained before going back to comforting the sobbing Saddle Rager.

"He's d-d-dead because of me." She choked out.

"No, don't beat yourself up on that one." Timberwolf tried assuring her before looking back at his team, The Mighty Machines. "I'm lying to make her feel better." He said not lowering his voice causing Saddle Rager to overhear it and sob even harder.

"Idiot." Rodan muttered as team leader Shadow Blot smacked Timberwolf over the head.

Lather sighed after finishing her speech on the podium. "We're almost done, if the next person listed could come up." Lather looked at the list and groaned. "Here she is ladies and stallions, the mare who gave us all a reason to be here." She joked before realizing how messed this made Saddle Rager. "Forget it, let's just say our last goodbyes."

'She's in no condition to even stand.' Lather thought to herself as she looked on to see the dog cry.

Lather opened the casket, revealing his face and hands, both remarkably intact considering what the mortician had to work with, it almost looked like he was merely sleeping, were it not for his eyes being open and off, and his hands flipping the bird to the attendees.

A few attendees chuckled at it.

"Even in death, the crash dummy could get out a laugh." High Heel commented before realizing Mane-iac was right next to her and proceeded to be silent. "Name aside, Alfreda was a good kid."

"Saddle Rager made her gravest mistake." Mane-iac growled through gritted but smiling teeth. "She took my son, I'm taking everything from her. Maybe more." She fought to suppress a maniacal chuckle that tried to crawl out her throat before she left.

Alfreda woke up startled before looking around seeing nothing but darkness. He blinked turning on his night vision seeing he was in some kind of box. He was about to panic before calming down and assessing the situation.

"Ok the last thing I remember was... wait I should be dead. how am I alive. You know what, don't care, get out first, rationalize later."

Alfreda punched at the top for a while, not taking some breaths to conserve his oxygen, eventually smashing open the top releasing all the dirt on him causing him get buried some more, but he pushed through digging through until he finally came through to the surface, throwing up some dirt as he then walked away.

"Twice in the same day, isn't anyone in this dang nabbit cemetery dead?" The taller gravedigger next to his fellow gravedigger asked.

A casket behind them opened with a skinny and old centaur in it as the casket began to lower. "I didn't wanna cause a fuss, but now that you mention it..."

Alfreda wandered through the city confused throwing the newspaper away.

"I was dead for three weeks? Wow, that's interesting. Well if everyone thinks I'm dead, I might as well find a new place to live." Alfreda said to himself before he tripped falling down a hole. When he got up he saw that he was in some type of massive cave. "Well not was I was imagining but I have no money so I'd say I'll take it."

Alfreda climbed out the hole and made his long walk down towards the Shampoo Factory opening the door, about to make his grand entrance until he remembered his mother's superstitions about zombies and whatnot deciding to just start a new life, thankfully no one was home.

"Must be out a heist." Alfreda shrugged before walking through to his room seeing it in an immaculate condition. He looked around wondering what he could store it all in and accidentally touched his chest opening it up like a door. "I have a chest hatch? Huh, nothing better to do, might as well see how much I can fit."

Alfreda finished digging the hole that went into his new 'Wolf Den' as he christened it, out of view of street cameras and bystanders, wiping off the sweat and getting up onto the street. 'Super weird Stardust Labs and Selene Industries had very low security. Those security codes were surprisingly easy to crack. But then again I don't remember how I cracked them. Oh well I got the junk I needed no matter.' Alfreda thought to himself.

He continued walking until he came by a building before looking back seeing it as a Army Recruitment Center. 'The Army? Eh, why not?' He thought walking in.

Alfreda was nervous as hell, they were flying into Yakyakistan now for some 'War' they kept talking about, and he was hoping to be one of those reserves that never go overseas.

"Gerald I can see how you're shaking. Calm down." The stallion next to him said. He was a Vesper with an ink black coat, his mane and tail a long navy blue edged burgundy red, some of the blue edges looking like slicked flames.

Alfreda took in deep breathes before mentally talking to himself. 'Remember, Alfreda's dead, you're Gerald Tangler, hold on a minute.'

"How'd you know my name."

"Who doesn't know you in the Corps? You broke the field record on the first try, not bad. Blade Wilson." Blade said offering his hoof for a handshake.

'Gerald' accepted it with a smile before looking back at the door. "We're gonna be good acquaintances at least right?"

"If we make it out alive, more likely to be friends." Blade replied.
