Power Rangers Harmony Force

On the moon…

Two astronauts are exploring the barren wasteland that in the moon’s surface. They come across a strange door in a rock formation. There is a key right next to it. Curious, one astronaut decides to unlock the door.

This turned out to be an idiotic move, as from within the rock emerged a mysterious figure with skin that’s black as night, dark blue hair that looks as if it has stars in it, a strange spear with a moon-shaped blade on the end, and silvery blue armor. This dark figure is Nightmare Moon.

“Ah, after 1,000 years I’m free. Time to bring about eternal night!” she says, “But first, as a reward for setting me free...” With that, she zaps the astronauts. The dark energy she zapped them with changed them into anthropomorphic wolves wearing battle armor, one had purple and silver armor (this would be Jackel) and the other had black and silver armor (this would be Hyde).

Nightmare Moon laughed maniacally and her new werewolf commanders howled.

Meanwhile, on Earth, in Canterlot…

It’s around mid afternoon at the Canterlot Youth Center. Rainbow Dash is helping Apple Bloom practice her karate skills while the rest of the Human 6 are just hanging out at a table.

“So, where do you think the Sirens went after we defeated them in the Battle of the Bands?” asked Sunset Shimmer, remembering what happened just three days earlier .

“Ah don’t know, but ah doubt we need to worry ‘bout ‘em any time soon,” answered Applejack.

“Yes, it would be most preposterous for the Sirens to return so soon after they were defeated,” added Rarity.

“Still, I can’t help but feel a little bit sorry for them,” said Sunset, “I mean, I was in that position once, as well.”

“You mean the power crazed lunatic from Equestria who mind controlled the entire school?” asked Pinkie Pie, “Um, no offense.”

“None taken. And also, yes, exactly that.”

Rainbow Dash came over to the table. “Wow, your sister is doing great with karate, Applejack. She’s really coming along. Though she still has a long ways to go if she wants to best me,” said Rainbow, arrogant as ever.

Then the building started to shake. “Earthquake!” said Doughnut Joe, who worked at the place. People started running out of the Center in panic.

Meanwhile, somewhere under the city…

“Oh,no, earthquake!” shouted Derpy Hooves (or Ditzy Doo, or Muffins, whatever you call her).

“This is no earthquake, Derpy. Nightmare Moon’s escaped,” said a strange voice, “Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude.”

“Of course, Zodor.”

Meanwhile, back at the Youth Center…

“We have to take cover,” said Sunset.

They started to run for cover, but before they could get very far, Sunset, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie were teleported away somewhere, leaving Fluttershy behind.

The five that were teleported ended up in a huge underground chamber that seemed much like the Bat-cave. They landed on a central pillar that had some very advanced technology, including several monitors, the central monitor being the largest. There were multiple bridge-like structures on the sides, each leading towards tube-like elevator.

From one elevator came Derpy. She tripped on along the way and came tumbling down.

Rainbow Dash helped her up. “Are you okay, Derpy?”

“Yeah, I’m okay,” Derpy replied.

The largest monitor turned on. “Greeting, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Sunset Shimmer,” said the monitor.

“Wow, that computer knows our names,” said Pinkie.

“Listen children. I have a task for you.”

“Well, we’re not going to do anything until we know who/what you are,” said Rainbow.

“Very well. My codename is Master Zodor, my real name is classified for my own protection. Let’s just say that I am someone you know and can trust at Canterlot High. And of course you may know Derpy Hooves, my assistant.” Derpy waved.

“So, onto the matter at hand. An evil sorceress of darkness, Nightmare Moon, has escaped after 1,000 years of imprisonment on the moon. She has vowed to bring about eternal night.”

“So, where do we come in?” asked Rarity.

“That’s the best part. You all have been chosen to pilot a fleet of powerful machines known as Zords and be heroes known to one and all as the Power Rangers Harmony Force. Sunset Shimmer, confident and forgiving, will become the Red Harmony Ranger. Rainbow Dash, brash and egotistical, yet loyal through and through, will become the Blue Harmony Ranger. Applejack, headstrong and stubborn, yet honest to the core (pun intended), will become the Yellow Harmony Ranger. Rarity, sophisticated and vain, yet undoubtedly generous, will become the White Harmony Ranger. And Pinkie Pie, hyperactive and random, and perhaps the physical embodiment of joy and happiness, will become Pink Harmony Ranger, though was there ever any doubt she wouldn’t be.”

“Okay, so, what are we supposed to do?” asked Sunset, “You weren’t very clear.”

“Simple, you will use special devices known as Harmony-morphers to morph into a form that will prove useful in combat. Derpy, please hand out the Harmony-morphers.”

The Harmony-morphers looked like a high-tech bracelets. And each morpher had a different gem in it; Sunset’s had a ruby, Rainbow’s had a sapphire, Rarity’s had an diamond, Applejack’s had a topaz, and Pinkie’s had a pearl.

“Whenever you need to morph, simply raise your hands to the sky while touching the gem and say, ‘Power Rangers, harmony up’,” explained Derpy.

“This is just too cool to be true,” said Rainbow Dash.

“Ah have to agree with Rainbow Dash on this one,” said Applejack.

“Yeah, this just seems a bit farfetched,” said Sunset, “Though then again, we did just defeat three Sirens with a giant alicorn of light, so I guess it’s possible.”

“She makes a good point,” said Pinkie.

“Hmm. Perhaps you’d like some time to think this over,” suggested Zodor, “Please, keep the morphers. And if you decide you’d like to become a Ranger, then all you need to do is use the morpher. Oh, and don’t tell anyone about any of this. We want this to stay a secret.”

“Okay, and thank you for these morphers. So, uh, you wouldn’t mind teleporting us back to the Youth Center, would you?” asked Rarity.

“Oh, of course. Derpy, fire it up.”

“Yes, sir.” Derpy pressed a few buttons and the five were teleported back to the Center.

Fluttershy was still there. “Where did you guys go?” she asked, slightly frightened by their sudden reappearance..

“Um, we don’t know what just happened. Somehow we were in a cave, but we don’t know anything else,” answered Pinkie, trying to keep the secret.

“It was really strange,” said Sunset, “Anyway, we should get going. Our parents might be worried about us.”

Meanwhile, at Nightmare Moon’s Lunar Fortress…

“General Hyde!” shouted Nightmare Moon.

“Yes, my queen?” asked the werewolf.

“Have you assembled the Bat Soldiers we need?”

“Yes, I have. Should I send them down to Earth now?”

“That would be appreciated, along with a monster.”

“And which monster would that be?”

“The Manticore.”

Back in Canterlot…

The Human 6 have just left the Center when out of nowhere comes a group of people with bat wings. These creatures start attacking random people. Among these creatures comes a lion with bat wings and a scorpion's tail: a Manticore.

Fluttershy gets scared by this and ducks behind some bushes. Sunset and the others try to fight back against the creatures but to no avail. The Bat Soldiers just knock them around.

Somehow, the Bat Soldiers manage to corner Sunset and the others. “I think this may be a good time to try out these morphers, don’t you think, guys?” asks Sunset.

“Yeah, I agree,” says Rainbow.

“Me too,” says Rarity.

“Me three,” says Pinkie

“Ah don’t see any other way to defeat these thing, so why not,” says Applejack.

“Okay then. Let’s do this,” says Sunset, “It’s morphin’ time!”

They all raise their hands to the sky, press the gem on the Harmony-morphers, and say, “Power Rangers, harmony up!”

A beam of pink light shoots up from Pinkie’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a fairy. Pinkie jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a pink bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a balloon. Pinkie twirls her cape and poses in front of a tornado. “Random as wind, Pink Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of white light shoots up from Rarity’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a unicorn. Rarity jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a white bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a diamond. Rarity twirls her cape and poses in front of a mountain. “Indestructible as crystal, White Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of yellow light shoots up from Applejack’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a wolf. Applejack jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a yellow bodysuit appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like an apple. Applejack twirls her cape and poses in front of a giant tree. “Strong as a tree, Yellow Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of blue light shoots up from Rainbow’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a pegasus. Rainbow jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a blue bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a lightning bolt. Rainbow twirls her cape and poses in front of a thunderstorm. “Fast as lightning, Blue Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of red light shoots up from Sunset’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a phoenix. Sunset jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a red body suit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a sun. Sunset twirls her cape and poses in front of a setting sun. “Powerful as the sun, Red Harmony Ranger!”

They all posed as an explosion went off behind them. Why? I don’t know, but it made them look really cool.

“Zodor, I think we’ve made our decision,” said Sunset, speaking into the built-in communicator in the helmets.

“Very good. I will have Derpy prepare the Zords,” replied Zodor, “In the meantime, how about you fight some of those Bat Soldiers. I included weapons in the suits.”

“Great, thanks.” Sunset pulled a golden sword out of its scabbard. The hilt appeared to have a sun-like design to it. The rest of the rangers pulled out their weapons as well. What are they, you ask? Well, Rainbow Dash has a laser-crossbow with a lightning bolt design, Applejack has a double-sided axe that’s in the shape of an apple, Pinkie has two daggers with a balloon design on the hilts, and Rarity has a diamond-topped staff.

Anyways, the five Rangers started fighting Bat Soldiers left and right. They were doing pretty well for their first time.

And in a short time, most of the Bat Soldiers had been defeated. “This is so much fun!” said Pinkie, excitedly.

“Yeah, it is,” said Sunset, “But don’t forget that we still need to defeat that Manticore.”

“Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that,” replied Pinkie.

“So, where is it?” asked Rainbow.

As if on cue, the Manticore came running down the street, chasing a bus.

“You might need to combine your weapons into the Mega-laser Crossbow in order to defeat that Manticore,” said Zodor over the Comm-device.

“And do you suggest we do that?” asked Sunset.

“Simple, just connect the sword, staff, daggers, and axe to make a big arrow. Then put that arrow on the crossbow and fire a Mega-laser at the monster.”

“Okay girls, you her Zodor, let’s do this!” shouted Pinkie.

The blade of Sunset’s sword split in two, allowing for Rarity’s staff to go in between the blades. Then Applejack connected her axe to the hilt of Sunset’s sword as Pinkie Pie connected her daggers to Rarity’s staff. The finished ‘arrow’ was then put on the crossbow. It took all five of them to simply hold it up, since it ended up being so long.

Rainbow Dash took aim at the Manticore and fired. Out of the Mega-laser Crossbow came a beam of rainbow light. Upon hitting the Manticore, it was surrounded in an explosion.

Meanwhile, Nightmare Moon’s Fortress…

“What’s this? The Manticore has been defeated!” shouted Nightmare Moon, looking into a crystal ball near her throne, “Impossible, yet it happened. Jackel!”

“Yes, your majesty?”asked the werewolf, Jackel.

“You are good with dark magic, are you not?”

“Yes, indeed I am.”

“Well then, heal the Manticore and give it greater power!”

“Yes, right away. Resurrecto!” said Jackel, using a resurrection spell.

Back in Canterlot…

The Rangers’ celebration was cut short as the Manticore started to grow to enormous size.

“Um, Zodor. I think we might need those Zords, now!” said Sunset into the Comm-device.

“Right away,” answered Zodor.

Back at the Command Center, Derpy activated the Zords’ autopilots and the Zords drove out of the garage. These Zords were basically emergency vehicles, fitting since this was an emergency. They were a red fire truck for Sunset (though what other colors do fire trucks come in? [Don’t answer that, it was rhetorical]), a blue jet for Rainbow, a yellow helicopter for Applejack, a pink police car for Pinkie, and a white ambulance for Rarity.

As the Zords came driving up the street, they began to combine.

The police car and the ambulance spun around to drive backward. The two vehicles then extended parts and connected to the back of the fire truck. The fire truck was then lifted into the air, allowing for the jet and the helicopter to attach to either side of the truck and transformed to become hands. The front windows of the fire truck then came down to the front of the Zord, forming a breast plate. And where the windows used to be, a head came up from inside the truck and took their place.

The Rangers were then teleported into the Megazord’s head, which was just big enough to have a cockpit that fit five people.

Over a comm-system in the cockpit, the Rangers could hear Zodor say, “Welcome to the Harmony Megazord, girls.”

“This is so awesome!” said Rainbow Dash.

“Yeah, really cool!” agreed Pinkie.

“Alright, let’s just focus on the monster,” said Applejack.

“Right,” they all said.

“Okay, Manticore, time to go back to Tartarus where you belong,” said Sunset.

The Rangers piloted the Megazord so that it punched the Manticore. The Manticore was barely fazed by this and attacked the Megazord with its tail.

“Hmm, that things strong,” says Zodor, “But I have just the thing. Everyone, press the button in front of you that says, ‘Spectrum Cannon’.”

“Okay, Zodor,” said Sunset, “Press the button on the count of three. One. Two. Three!” They all pressed the button and a big cannon in the Megazord’s chest fired a blast of rainbow-colored energy at the Manticore, making the monster explode.

They all celebrated (you can probably guess who is who).

“Yeah, alright. Score one for the Power Rangers!”

“That was so awesome!’

“Yeehaw!”

“Yippee!”

“So colorful. It’s inspiring!”

Nightmare Moon’s Fortress…

“What?!” shouted Nightmare Moon, angrily, “That Manticore was suppose to be unbeatable. How is this possibly?”

“It seems that Earth has some new protectors,” said Hyde.

“You don’t think I can see that?”

“Oh, I’m sorry, my queen. It’s just, I did not know of these new protectors, these new ‘Power Rangers’.”

“Hmph, oh Zodor, you're at it again,” said Nightmare Moon to herself.

“What shall we do, my queen?”

“Ready the Bat Soldiers. And prepare for war. Night is falling.”

Back in the Command Center…

“Congratulations, Rangers,” says Zodor, “You have defeated your first monster as Power Rangers. But I feel that this is not over. In fact it will only get harder from here. You have a long journey ahead of you. But for now, enjoy yourselves.”

“Thanks Zodor, we will,” said Sunset, “Any advice for us before we are teleported home?”

“Yes, actually. First, you should note that if the teleporters built into the morphers aren’t working, you can always get into the Command Center through the library of Canterlot High or the sewer system. And secondly, I would advise against using the morphers in personal battles, unless there are innocent lives on the line. That is all for now.”

“Okay, thanks. Now let’s head on out of here. Derpy, fire it up.”

“Right away, Sunset.”
