Power Rangers Harmony Force

“This is Canterlot News at 6,” said the TV.

“Hello and welcome back. I’m Press Pass. Tonight we have more on the Power Rangers. Earlier today, another creature attacked our city. This time a huge crab. And again the Rangers were able to defeat the monster. What’s next for our heroes, I wonder. Anyway, on a similar, yet different note, just last night, there was a robbery at a jewelry store. This of course isn’t very exciting news. At least not yet. During the robbery, or should I say, ‘attempted robbery,’ a new hero appeared on the scene. According to what one of the robbers said in an interview, and I quote, “The [hero] appeared in a large puff of smoke, swiped a card through some sort of card reader on their arm, and said something like, ‘Houdini’s Hold.’ The next thing I knew, I was chained up to a lamppost and an indigo clad person was standing a little was standing a little ways away.” The robber described the person’s appearance as ‘the Power Rangers, but with a magiciany flare to the design.’ Through what we know already, we have named this hero the Indigo Ranger. More on this as it develops. Now onto Meteorologist Clear Skies with weather.”

The next day, Harmony Force Command Center…

The Rangers are all just hanging out in the Command Center. Rarity goes down to the garage and sees Spark tinkering with her Zord. And by ‘tinkering’ I mean loading it with missiles. “Uh, Spark, what are you doing?” she asks.

“Oh, hey Rarity. I’m just giving your Zord some additional weaponry,” Spark answered.

“Uh, are you sure that’s a good idea, darling?”

“All ideas are good ideas, as long as they have nothing to do with Donald Trump. The guy’s got an ego bigger than Rainbow Dash’s, and that’s saying a lot.”

“Can’t argue with that. But seriously, why are you adding missiles to my ambulance?”

“Battle is all about strategy, outsmarting your opponent. Yes, sometimes you just need to throw a few punches, but other times, you need the element of surprise. And what’s more surprising than explosives? Nothing much, in my opinion.”

“Okay, I’ll just leave you to it.”

“Oh, and could you tell Pinkie Pie that I added something to her Zord to match her own speed and randomness.”

“I don’t understand why you would want to do that, but I do know it wasn’t a good idea, regardless of having Donald Trump involved or not.” With that, Rarity left the garage.

Nightmare Moon’s fortress…

“Are preparation to retrieve the item done?” asked Nightmare Moon.

“Yes, my queen. Shall I send the Bat Soldiers down now to retrieve the item?” asked Hyde.

“Not yet. First we need to draw the Rangers’ attention with a monster.”

“I believe I have a monster that will be sufficient,” says Jackel, holding up a figurine, “Behold, the Mars Fly Trap.”

“Excellent. Hyde send the monster and a troop of Bat Soldiers to distract the Rangers. Then sent a smaller group of Bat Soldiers to retrieve the item from the Canterlot Museum of International History.”

“Yes, my queen.”

A few minutes later, Canterlot…

The Mars Fly Trap is rampaging down Mane Street. And here come the Power Rangers. “Alright, girls,” says Sunset, “It’s morphin’ time!”

A beam of pink light shoots up from Pinkie’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a fairy. Pinkie jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a pink bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a balloon. Pinkie twirls her cape and poses in front of a tornado. “Random as wind, Pink Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of white light shoots up from Rarity’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a unicorn. Rarity jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a white bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a diamond. Pinkie twirls her cape and poses in front of a mountain. “Unbreakable as crystal, White Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of yellow light shoots up from Applejack’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a wolf. Applejack jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a yellow bodysuit appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like an apple. Applejack twirls her cape and poses in front of a giant tree. “Strong as a tree, Yellow Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of blue light shoots up from Rainbow’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a pegasus. Rainbow jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a blue bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a lightning bolt. Rainbow twirls her cape and poses in front of a thunderstorm. “Fast as lightning, Blue Harmony Ranger!”

A beam of red light shoots up from Sunset’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a phoenix. Sunset jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a red body suit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a sun. Sunset twirls her cape and poses in front of a setting sun. “Powerful as the sun, Red Harmony Ranger!”

The Rangers pose as an explosion goes off behind them. They then start fighting with the Bat Soldiers.

This goes on for a bit longer than the last two times. The Bat Soldiers are just dodging and not even bothering to attack back.

Hyde watches from a rooftop above. On his face is what I think is a smile, but it also could be constipation. Even I, the narrator, can’t tell. Either way, he’s making sure the Rangers are occupied, because only a few blocks away, the smaller troop of Bat Soldiers are raiding the museum.

Then, out of nowhere, the Indigo Ranger appears at the museum, in a large puff of smoke. “Ladies and Gentlebats, allow me to introduce myself,” said the Indigo Ranger to the Bat Soldiers, “I am the one who will amaze you with a shocking performance.” She pulled a card from a pack, swiped it through a card reader on her arm, and said, “Waat’s up?”

She then threw the card at a Bat Soldier and the card instantly electrocuted it.

The other Bat Soldiers scattered and tried to hide. One hid in an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus, which the Indigo Ranger takes note of.

“For my next trick, I will cut a lucky volunteer in half.”She walks over to the sarcophagus, takes out another card, swipes it, and says, “You saw this coming, didn’t you?” The card transforms into a saw. You can probably guess what happened after that. It wasn’t pretty.

She then turned her attention to the other Bat Soldiers. They were all hiding in the next room. She followed them and started fighting them, occasionally using pulling out a magic card or two. But they were swiftly dealt with.

All but two Bat Soldiers actually. These two Bat Soldiers were in a different part of the museum, taking a stone coffin from its podium and vanishing into thin air.

The two Bat Soldiers reappeared in Nightmare Moon’s fortress.

“We have retrieve it, your majesty,” said one of the Bat Soldiers.

“Excellent.”

Meanwhile, back with the Rangers…

The Mars Fly Trap had grown to a giant size. “Zodor, we need your Zords,” said Sunset into the comm device.

“Already on the way,” Zodor replied.

The police car and the ambulance spun around to drive backward. The two vehicles then extended parts and connected to the back of the fire truck. The fire truck was then lifted into the air, allowing for the jet and the helicopter to attach to either side of the truck and transformed to become hands. The front windows of the fire truck then came down to the front of the Zord, forming a breast plate. And where the windows used to be, a head came up from inside the truck and took their place.

The Rangers were teleported into the head.

“Somebody call the gardener?” said Sunset.

“Girls, I added some new weapons to the Megazord. You should try some of them out,” said Spark over the comm.

“I don’t see why not,” said Rarity, pressing a button. From the front of the Megazord’s ambulance foot shot out three missiles. They made impact with the Mars Fly Trap and exploded, damaging the monster.

“Wow, that gives new meaning to the word ‘mistletoe’,” Pinkie remarked.

Next Applejack pressed a button and the Megazord’s helicopter arm extended two rotors which started opening and closing like scissors. The Megazord approached the Mars Fly Trap and cut off one of it’s arms.

But this gave the monster a chance to strike back. It whacked the Megazord with its other arm.

“Looks like it’s time for the big gun,” said Sunset, “Spectrum Cannon ready in three. Two. One. Fire!” They all pressed the Spectrum Cannon button and a beam of rainbow energy fired from the Megazords chest cannon and hit the Mars Fly Trap, obliterating it.

“Booyah!” shouted Rainbow.

“Good job, Rangers,” said Zodor, “ But it seems that was just a distraction.”

“What?!” asked Sunset surprised.

“Ah’m sorry, but did ya just say ‘distraction’?” asked Applejack.

“Afraid so. While you were busy fighting that monster, a small group of Bat Soldiers were breaking into the local museum. As a result, they were able to steal something. An ancient stone coffin. We don’t know anything about this coffin, unfortunately. But it’s not all bad news. Apparently, only two Bat Soldiers escaped the museum. The others were all defeated by the mysterious Indigo Ranger.”

“Indigo Ranger?” asked Sunset, “Is this secret ranger of your’s?”

“Actually, no. I don’t know anything about this Indigo Ranger except that one is not to mess with her. Just watch this.” Zodor played a clip of the Indigo Ranger sawing through a Bat Soldier on a screen. The Rangers were understandably disgusted by the scene.

“Well, that’s going to haunt my dreams,” said Rarity.

“I completely, absolutely, 100% agree,” said Pinkie, “So, who is this Indigo Ranger?”

“Hmm, I honestly couldn’t say, but I have my suspicions. I also have my suspicions about who the Indigo Ranger is working for, if anyone. But that’s not important. The important thing is you get back to base.”

“Alright, we’re on our way,” said Sunset.

Nightmare Moon’s fortress…

“Finally, the Mortem Sporta is mine,” proclaimed Nightmare Moon.

“What do we do now, my queen?” asked Hyde.

“Well isn’t it obvious? We summon my Succubus friend.” With that Nightmare Moon blasted the stone coffin with dark energy and started chanting in a language that I don’t understand. Soon the coffin’s lid shot off of it as a dark figure emerged from it.

The figure was clearly female,had a black dress, bat wings, and eye that burned their way into your soul. She also had an tiara made of obsidian on her head. “Oh Nightmare, must you have summoned me at the time I was about to feast?” she asked.

“I do apologies, Vampress, but I called you here for a reason,” replied Nightmare Moon.

“And what reason would that be?”

“I am planning to bring eternal night to Earth. You will help me.”

“Oh, sure thing, but what’s in it for me?”

“Free range of the planet and as many morsels as you please?”

“I can get behind that. It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper feast, not since World War 2, and even then the morsels were almost inedible, being mostly either the Nazis, who were too rotten for a good meal, or the Jews, who believed in God. As an unholy creature, that isn’t a very good menu.”

“I understand, Vampress. Jackel.

”Yes, my queen?” asked Jackel.

“You are to help Vampress plan our next attack.”

“As you wish.”

Harmony Force Command Center…

“Despite the fact that Nightmare Moon’s Bat Soldiers stole something from the museum, you all did excellent today,” said Zodor.

“Thanks,” said Sunset, “But I have to wonder, why did Nightmare Moon have her Bat Soldiers steal a coffin?”

“Let’s not worry about that now,” suggested Spark, “I have something for your friend Fluttershy.” He gave Sunset a small, bracelet-like device. “This bracelet functions as both a communicator and a teleportation device.”

“Um, why would Fluttershy need this?” Rainbow asked.

“It’s just a precaution, just in case you five are somehow unable to perform your ranger duties, Fluttershy will be called to step in for and/or save you. You can understand why we would want to have backup rangers, right?”

“I guess it makes sense,” said Sunset, “But are you sure Fluttershy would be up to it?”

“Please, who wouldn’t step up to save a friend when they’re in danger?”

“I see your point there. Okay, I’ll give it to her as soon as possible.”

“Very well. Now, Rangers, it’s starting to get late you should be off. Derpy, fire up the teleporter.”
