The Odd One Out

Chapter 1: Twilight’s Discovery

It was a beautiful morning in Ponyville. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and everypony was gathered around Ponyville to witness a strange object in the dirt path. Wait. What?

“Hey! What’s going on?” asked Twilight, flying towards the crowd.

“It’s a strange object! I don’t know what it is!” Derpy addressed.

“Let me see.”

Twilight saw a green egg-like object in the dirt.

“I’ll take care of it.”

Twilight picked up the object and headed towards her castle. Twilight and Spike then grabbed some books and started doing some research.

“What do you think it is?” asked Spike.

“I don’t know.” Twilight replied.

The object started to crack.

“Uh… Twilight…”

Twilight turned around and started noticing the object cracking even more.

“Spike? What did you do?”

“I didn’t even touch it!”

The object had something inside. That something got out of its shell and opened its eyes. It was a baby female changeling.

“Oh no. No, No, no, no, no, no!”

“What is it Twi…”

The baby looked at Twilight. Twilight started panicking.

“This can’t be! A changeling! IN PONYVILLE!”

“What are we going to do?”

“I… DON’T… KNOW!!!”

The baby started crying. Twilight then grabbed her and started to calm her down.

“There, there. It’s alright.”

The baby stopped.

“Hey, I think it likes you!”

“It does. Doesn’t it?”

“Are you going to keep her?”

“I don’t know.”

Then the baby all of a sudden disappeared in Twilight’s arms. But she could still feel her.

“Where did she go?”

Then the baby re-appeared in her arms.

“Woah… It has the ability to turn invisible! Not transform into other ponies!”

“I bet it doesn’t feed off love either. FEED! She must be hungry…”

“Well, let’s go to Sugarcube Corner then!”

So, Twilight and Spike went to Sugarcube Corner. When they got there, all of Twilight’s friends were there.

“Hi Twilight!” cheered Pinkie.

“Uh… Hi! Got milk?”

“Uh… yeah! This is Sugarcube Corner! Why you ask?”

“Because…”

Twilight held up the baby changeling with her magic.

“This changeling was abandoned. And I think I know why. She can’t transform into other ponies or feed of love.”

“Well, I’ll be! A baby channeling!” cheered Applejack.

“It’s rather nice! If I do say so myself.” Rarity approved.

“She’s awesome!” Rainbow Dash claimed.

“It’s… nice.” Fluttershy whispered.

“So… what are you going to name her?”asked Pinkie Pie.

“I think I’ll call her Vanish. Because she can disappear.”

Everypony cheered at the name.

“Oh! And here’s you milk.”

Pinkie Pie gave the milk to Twilight and she gave it to Vanish. She drank it like she hasn’t in years. Vanish threw the bottle. Luckily, Twilight cached it before it could do any damage.

“She wants more!”

“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s give her some more!”

Vanish actually drank 2 more bottles. Then she fell asleep into Twilight’s arms.

“I think its nap time.”

Twilight and Spike went home to put Vanish to bed. It didn’t take long for her to fall asleep. Twilight found and old blanket and wrapped it around Vanish. She placed her into an old crib.

“Good night.” Whispered Twilight as she kissed her, turned off the lights, and left the room.
