Events of the main story take place after Rainbow Rocks
Sparkjump had left his native home, Spain, because his family couldn't find a school for him that could be cheap and good enough for him. So, he decided to search himself for anywhere outside the country.

There he found Crystal Prep Academy, and saw it fulfilled his requirements, so in which case, that's where ended up going to. He liked it at the beginning, the school was indeed what he expected when he was there his first days, but then he just noticed all the students there were nothing more than arrogant and bigoted idiots who would manage to thrive there by using others as tools.

He didn't like this, so he tried to see if there were any other schools he could join. When he told his parents, they agreed on letting him choose his new school, Canterlot High.

When he arrived, he was more surprised than ever to know that his new school beat his expectancies right off the bat, but it still didn't take his attention away from Sour Sweet, the somewhat psycho girl with bipolar personality.
