Houdini was definitely having problems.

A crush problem, to be exact.

Fraisier Parfait, the daughter of Fancy Pants and Fleur-de-lis. And boy, she was pretty.

Now, it wasn't that he wasn't one her level. He was a prince, after all! Not an alicorn, no, but a prince none the less. It was true not many people liked him, not because of anything he did in particular, but because of his...well...heritage.

Prince Blueblood, and now Princess Trixie Lulumoon did not exactly have very good past reputations, and even though they were nice now, people still looked at them with disregard. And that rubbed off on Houdini.

It wasn't even that problem that separated him from Parfait.

Trixie smirked. "I have my magic, you know."

"Mom, no offense, but you were never very good with magic..."

"That doesn't mean I haven't improved, does it? I've been working on a new spell that can sense the emotions of others, if they're strong enough." She turned to him. "I sensed the love emotion, but the rest was simply by deduction."

"Wow, I'm impressed." Houdini said sarcasticly. He was close to his mother, but she got on his nerves sometimes.

She frowned at him. "Well, hopefully you'll figure something out. I'll help all I can, but I really don't know much on the subject..." she looked away for a moment. "Just call me if you need anything." Trixie left and closed the door.

Houdini sighed and turned so he was looking up to the ceiling. On it were some small glow-in-the-dark stars, that his mother had made for him when he was little. Looking at them, he was reminded of someone...
