The Love Chain

Back in Ponyville, Stellar Star was having her own problems.

She paced back and forth in her bedroom, occasionally muttering, "Does he not like me any more?" and "Why does she always have to be here?"

Star was referring to Fraisier Parfait. The Canterlot unicorn had recently been coming to Ponyville a lot, because she wanted to see...

Apple Spice.

Stellar Star was not happy with that. Because she liked A.S! And in all truth, Apple Spice liked Star and not Parfait, but neither of the mares knew that. So now, Parfait was flirting with Star's crush!

Star began doing wing-ups, like she did whenever she was mad. She was a bit of a hothead, so she got a lot of exercise from that.

Of course, she also liked Lightning Strike, but he was starting to drift off towards Smite. That didn't really make Star feel any better.

Twilight, her mom, popped her head into the room. "Stella...I can hear you 'exercising' for all the way down stairs! Could you quiet down, please?"

Star rolled her eyes. She hated it when her mom called her Stella.

Twilight continued. "I'm not sure why you can't do something more relaxing, like reading a book. Or you could go out and play with your friends..."

Star let her ramble. She stopped doing wing-ups and sat on her bed.

Finally, Twilight stopped. She looked at her daughter, worried. "Are you ok, Stella?"

"I'm fine, mom."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Star hesitated, then shook her head.

Twilight looked concerned. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, mom! Please. I just want to be alone." Star looked down.

"Ok..." her mother looked her over one more time, then left.

Stellar Star sighed, then flopped on her bed. She wanted to talk to someone, just not her mom. Twilight had a tendency to freak out over everything, and that would just stress Star even more. She could call Confetti, or maybe Amethyst, but she really didn't want to worry anypony over her problems. Technically, she didn't even want any pony to know that she had a crush.

But she needed to tell someone...

Right then, she had a great idea. She would call her best friend, who also happened to be her cousin, Princess Crystal Song.
