I opened my eyes and was greeted by a blinding light.

"So, you're awake." I heard someone say to me. I knew it was, it was the fucker that took the purifier.

I stayed silent as Colonel Autumn shut off the light and moved out of the way, letting me see two tables with a variety of saws, shock baton, metal pipes etc.

"Let's keep this nice and simple. You're going to tell me the code for that Purifier, and you're going to tell me now." He said to me as he grabbed a metal pipe. I spat at him, making him back away in disgust. He then gripped the pipe, walked back to me and swung the pipe at my knee, breaking it.

I screamed in pain as he swung and it my other knee, he then threw the pipe away and looked at me. Even through the pain I managed to smirk at him.

"If that's all you got, then I got bad news for you." I said to him.

"I can't say I'm surprised. You and your ilk seem hell-bent on destroying everything our government has worked to achieve." He said, crossing his arms.

"Worked!? You government bastards didn't do shit to help. I know why you made the Vaults, I know their true purpose. You used the dwellers as Guinea pigs, testing them in enclosed environments." I sneered at him.

"I'll be honest. I'm running out of patience here, and I'm not looking to play games with you." He said, grabbing a shock baton.

"Who's playing?" I said with a smirk.

Autumn then shocked me, all I could do was scream in pain as he kept shocking me for five minutes.

"Tell me the code NOW!" He shouted as he put the baton back.

"Fuck you!" I shouted at him. I saw him grab a sword like machine. I recognizes it as he turned it on, making the blade spin.

"You tell me that code, or it's going to cost you." He said as he hovered the ripper over my right arm. My breathing started to rapidly increase as he lowered the ripper.

"Fuck. You." I said. Autumn looked at me and shook his head. He then brought down the ripper on my arm.

Location: Castle Friendship, Ponyville
Time: 1:00 A.M

I woke up in cold sweat. I sat up and buried my face in my hands as I shook my head.

I lowered my hands and looked at my synthetic arm, giving it a few flexes. I sighed as I stood up and walked up to the balcony.

I sat down on the railings and looked over Ponyville. I sat there, looking at the night by myself, but turned around as I heard a dog whimper. I looked behind me to see Dogmeat looking worried at me. I gave him a small smile as I scratched behind his ears, earning his bark of approval.

"What do you think, boy? Is it time for me to end my suffering or is there more to be done in my life?" I asked him, earning a sad whine from him.

"I just wish things could've gone a little differntly, you know? Like Celestia and Luna still having a father to look after then, or if I could've convinced the Enclave to help restoring the wasteland without killing anyone." I said to him as I looked back out the distance.

"I never wanted to be like this, I wanted to live a normal life with my family but that dream is long fucking gone." I said, earning another whimper from Dogmeat.

"Don't get me wrong, you're family. It's just, I wish I had at least some time to tell them goodbye." I said as I felt a single tear go down my cheek. I wiped the tear away with my thumb and stared at it.

"Really, what I want the most right now, is a normal life or at least a normal-ish." I said as I flicked the tear off my thumb. I looked back at Dogmeat with a sad smile.

"You're staying here, aren't you?" I asked him, gaining what sounded like a duh from him.

"That's what I love about you, you're loyal, silly and all kinds of fun." I said as I got off the railing, bent down and hugged him. I could feel him nuzzling me as I held on to him. I let go and sat down next to him, allowing him lay down my lap. Throughout the whole thing, Me and Dogmeat were unaware of a certain lavender alicorn looking through the door of my room.

PoV: Twilight

I've been awake, trying to finish some of my paper work but stopped when I saw that I needed more ink. While heading to get more, I walked by Steels door and saw it open by a few inches. I could hear Dogmeat whimper along with Steel talking with him.

I know peeking in on somepony is not a princess thing to do, but I need to know what's going on. I walked up to the door and peeked through. I saw Steel and Dogmeat out on the balcony, I could faintly hear what Steel was saying but I heard something about 'ending his suffering'. I thought a little on what he meant and came up with one thing.

'Steel was thinking on commiting suicide.' I thought as I took a step back in shock. He really did lose his sanity.

I kept listening in and heard him talk about his family and how he never got to say goodbye. I could feel my eyes start to sting due to the tears forming in them.

I decided that was enough and hurried along to find some ink, to send the princesses a letter regarding Steel.

Author's Note

Sorry about the short chapter, I had shit in the way and couldn't for the life of me, remember what I had planned for this chapter, so I went the suicidal route.

DON'T HATE ME! I've had that problem before, so I thought why not use that as my inspiration.

And yes I've talked with my dog before, he's smarter than you think.
