Chapter 2: Unusual Events

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was a Monday like any other. The school bell rang and the students started to get out. I took a little longer, like I always do, so I can get out not having to face the tumult. Afterwards, I had lunch in a diner near my school cause my mother is working and is going to get back late.

From there, I take my way home. I was walking in front of Canterlot High school when I see a group of girls around the school statue. A normal scene, until one of them enters and disappears into one of the walls of a kind of pedestal where the statue is. Weird. I did see a lot of movies with secret passages and stuff. But that doesn't seem like the same thing. It seems more like... magic.

Come on, Snowflake. Magic doesn't exist, I say to myself.

Almost at home, I was walking, looking down when I heard a weird noise. I looked behind and noticed a necklace with a pendant in a blue snowflake shape in the floor. But I already walked there, looking at the ground, and I'm sure I didn't see anything there, and there's no one in the street at the moment but me. I take it carefully and decide to take it with me. It's a pretty necklace. Plus, it matches with my name.

At night, I decided to try the necklace and, for my surprise, it shines weirdly, but soon the glow fades out. That was strange. I take it off and put it on again to see if it's going to shine, but it doesn't.

Probably it was only me. I'd better get some sleep.

I turned off the lights and lied in my bed, falling asleep soon.

At morning, I put my new necklace and went to school.

Group work. I managed to do it by myself, since no one even asks me if I want a place in their groups.

At break time, I took my food and took a place to sit, alone. It sounds sad, but I feel better like this than with my so called friends. Actually, with them I felt even more lonely.

After school, I had lunch in that same diner.

In my way home, I walk walking again in front of Canterlot High. There's no one around the statue. I wanted to investigate the "passage", but maybe it's better forget it. When I'm going back to walk, my necklace starts to shine, like it did in the last night. Before that, I can't resist. It's like a sign telling me to go there.

I get closer and touch the pedestal that it looked like the girl had crossed. I'm surprised to see that my hand seems to go inside the wall. My necklace shines again, like it's saying that I should cross it. I'm surely curious, but I'm afraid too.

That's when I heard people coming.

It's now or never.

I hesitated a bit, but overcame the fear and crossed the portal.
