Metro equestria

Dear Rainbow,

I’m sorry you have to read this, but we can’t be with you right now.

I don’t know how to tell you this, but Equestria is not really Equestria anymore.

Look around you and you will see. The room, is pretty clean. But that’s about it. Look outside and you will see the truth.

The world is dead. Everything outside is gone. Everything that exists on the surface is either dead or mutated. And the mutated are not pleasant.

Our pods were damaged and faulty. They all opened at different times.

It’s impossible to live up there permanently. There’s equipment that can hold you out up there, the air is toxic, but still filterable. Gas masks can help and there are a lot. But they can only last so long.

But, as you know, a metro system has been built, allowing ponies to get around quicker from towns. Underground they work faster. But they also serve another purpose. They’re makeshift bomb shelters. Ponies can live down there.

But, it’s not all safe down there. Some ponies can be nice, but other’s not so much. Two factions have been brought up. One called the Solar Empire and one called the Lunar Republic. The princesses are not with us anymore, but these factions are named after them, for what reasons an empire and a republic were to exist now, we don’t know, but it is plausible.

You need to know how to use a gun. For killing mutants and other ponies. Ponies will kill you, I know it sounds inequine, but there’s nothing else you can really do. And the mutants. They are different. Even Fluttershy couldn’t talk to them.

Magic, it’s so limited. The only form of magic practically available is the inert grip. I tried my spells, but they lacked. No pegasi have been flying and Earth ponies can’t grow food as easily (although only mushrooms are effectively grown.)

Bits aren’t Currency anymore. Military grade rounds are used now because you can’t have the same currency since everypony has lost atleast something, making the value of bits random. Military grade rounds are more practical anyway. They do more damage, but since they’re currency, you’re better off saving them for exchange.

This place is dangerous, the only reason why no one has found you is because of the lack of noise. But we were woken up before you. Now that you’re awake, you can’t go back to stasis. Our pods were damaged. Yours too, but ours more. To protect you, knowing we can’t open it prematurely, we left, so no one could find us and find you.

Go to ponis. I’m sure I’ll be there. The ponies there must recognise me as the once student of the princess and accept me. But, you don’t have to, if it’s too hard. I understand that. We mostly got split up. Find the others if you must.

The world is waiting for you, but you must not give up.

~Twilight. 20 years after blast.

P.S As of now, I don’t know what caused this. I haven’t met many ponies and the ones I have don’t know much either.
