Giant in Equestria

        The sun shone bright in the sky over Equestria this fine spring afternoon. The birds were chirping happily in their little nests, and the little woodland creatures scurried about without a care in the world. But this serenity is short lived, for there is a danger approaching that no Equestrian is prepared for……...me.

        My name is Adam Hart, born and raised in Southern California. I play football for my college team, considered to be the tallest man in school, and I had just graduated not a week prior.

        Currently, I am sitting in my rather small apartment, reading one of my favorite novels, “Harry Potter”. I don’t look like the reading type, but I may just surprise you. I graduated in the top ten of my class with a teaching degree in English. My dad wanted me to be a mechanic like him, but I was never any good with cars. My mom was never around when I was growing up, so it was always just me and my old man. But, since I moved out, it’s just me. I finish off the chapter and shut the book with a sigh.

         “This book never gets old.” I say to myself.

Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door. I stand and walk over to the door.

“Delivery for a Mr. Hart!” Someone called.

       I open the door and a man is standing there. He hands me a small package, salutes, and leaves. I shut the door.

“Odd. I wasn’t expecting any packages today.” I say as I examine the box.

       By normal people’s standards, this box would be medium sized, but for a six foot ten man such as myself, it was rather small. I open it up and look inside. There’s a scroll inside.

   “What the? Who writes on these anymore?” I say, unrolling it.

      The writing on the parchment looks very fancy, like someone had taken quite a bit of time to write this out by hand. I read it out loud:

            “Dear Mr. Hart.

Your presence is requested for a biological study on abnormal growth patterns in adult males. You have been selected based upon your performance in academics and your overall ‘largeness’. I hope to meet you soon.

Signed,

Princess Twilight Sparkle.”

“Twilight Sparkle? What kind of joke is this?” I roll the scroll up and I toss it into the trash.

“What kind of name is that? Twilight Sparkle. Ha! They must think I’m a moron!” I laugh to myself.

I sit down in my chair and recline back with a sigh.

BOOM!

I jump up, hearing a loud noise from the kitchen. I run inside, only to see an odd array of lights spiraling towards me. I don’t have enough time to react before I’m blinded by a white light, then darkness…...
