Darkshine: A Backstory

Once, in Canterlot, there was a nice family of ponies, and they were about to have a baby. They were in the hospital, and the mom was about to have an excitement attack! The dad was also pleased, as he always wanted to have a little filly to take care of and have fun with. When they got to the surgery room, the nice pony doctors were trying to calm the mom down so they can get the baby out. The sister, Nightmare Swirls was there too, and she put on an evil smile. When they finally got the filly out, they saw that there was something off about her. "What's with the eyes?" asked Nightmare Swirls as she took a crack at the pony. "And the wings and the tail. What's up with those?" "She's utterly perfect," the parents said as they hugged her. "We shall call her Darkshine." the parents said enthusiastically. "Awww... Why not 'Absolutely Stupideyes'? That would be a good name." Laughed Nightmare. "NIGHTMARE!" the parents yelled. "That's unkind!" Darkshine woke up, and looked up at her parents. You could tell that she was happy to be in the world. "Nightmare! Can you watch Darkshine? we need to run to the washroom!" called the parents. "OK!!!" Nightmare called back. Darkshine looked back up and noticed that her parents were not there and instead, her horrid sister. She started to cry, and Nightmare got upset. "Shut your lips!!" Nightmare yelled at her angrily, which only made her cry harder. When the parents came back, they found her crying and wondered what was going on and if she was ok. "She's fine. It's a baby thing." Nightmare told her parents, as she didn't want to tell them what she had said to her little sister. "Oh, alright." the parents responded. "We may be moving to another part of Canterlot, as this is too plain for our girl. She must learn the way of life as we did, at school near all the rich ponies and the castle!" The dad said proudly. "Ummm." the mom said. "This is gonna be great...." Nightmare said, and with that, Darkshine was welcomed to Equestria.
