Mare Hunters

Half a hour passes back in Matripony a new mare approaches, her hide and horn blue as the sky, her mane a variety of deeper blues, and a bow and shield cutie mark. Her saddle bag filled to the brim and a pearl handled pistol on the side. She looks around for something and sees a filly walking around outside. The quickly trots up to the filly and ask.

"Excuse me which way to Canterlot?" The filly responds with.

"North but who are you?"

"Well Lulus the name and hunting is my game" Lulu the blue unicorn is on her way to Monster Academy in Canterlot. The filly gazed up at her and said.

"Your a hunter? That's so cool!"

"Why thank you for thy compliment, I'll be off,"  the mare turns and starts to walk off until the filly screams.

"Wait! We need your help, please!" Lulu stopped and stared.

"What's wrong? I really should be in a hurry if I get to Canterlot to late I won't be accepted as a student." Stated Lulu after a moment the filly continued and said.

"A monster has been terrorizing the town and we need help, many of us have been hurt trying to take thy monster head on, we tried to get real hunters but are small settlement can't pay them enough to help us. Please help us," Lulu stared down at the panicked filly in absolute shock. It's completely unheard of for monsters to be in or anywhere close to this area. I can't do this now I have to get to the academy yet I need to help them, Lulu though to herself. She ponders for a bit until she replied.

"Sure," with great joy the filly says.

"Thank you so much, I need to tell the mayor."

"So, you think you can hunt this monster?" The mayor asked looking a the light blue mare. The mayor and Lulu were in his office discussing about what to do.

"I do have hunting experience, and I am soon to attend Canterlot Monster Hunter Academy," Lulu replied and the mayor questioned.

"So you haven't even been there yet? And yet you think you can slay this beast?"

"I believe so, but I do have to ask a few questions about the monster," The mayor stared at the mare while pacing back and forth. He paused and though for a bit, Until he finally responded with.

"How much?"

"A ride to Canterlot, that's all," He stared for a bit at Lulu.

"Deal," He put out his hoof out to shake, and with a little uncertainty she shakes on it. They leave the mayors office to discuss what to do next. Lulu goes to the towns folk to ask about the monster, due to the lack of ponies who have settled in the area she didn't expect to find to much information. She went from the first house, to the second found nothing until she went to the third house. There a stallion said that he had seen the monster and described it as.

"The monster has a thin, long body, but seemed to be dragon like, it had wings and everything. But it had really reflective scales and fins on its back."Lulu thanks the stallion and walks away. The monster he described as a Plesioth, a water dragon like monster, but it shouldn't be here if anywhere it should be near the coast not inland.  Lulu got ready for the fight, she bought supplies from the sales pony, and polished her gun.

Its slowly getting late time ticked very quickly. Its about seven she has a hour. Lulu sits outside near the site where the monster normally appears. Its a small practically wasteland like area, there was no plant life or any kind of life there at all it is amazing that this place is so close to the life-full city near bye. She is waiting and anticipating until a small squeaky voice broke the silence as a filly runs up to her.

"Hey I got you something, I hope you like it," She has a small chain bracelet in her mouth,Lulu looked down and smiled at the small filly and with her blue aura levitated the bracelet to her hoof and up to her joint.

"Thank you" Lulu hugs the little pink filly. Lulu continued."Now get out of here, I dont want you getting hurt, K?" The filly nodded and trotted away as quickly as possible. Lulu had a half an hour till the monster comes. She trotted back and forth waiting for the monster to come. Its getting really dark, its eight o'clock. Back and forth, back and forth Lulu trots. Two minutes pass, then suddenly it started to rain. Lulu looked up at the clouds that suddenly rolled in.

"Bingo," Lulu smiled and looked around, then with a great thud the Plesioth came down from the sky's. Plesioth is just as the villager described, Lulu looked up at it and gave a slight smile.

"Let's begin," Lulu grinned and got into a attack stance.

Quickly Lulu pulls out her fully loaded, pistol and starts firing at the top fin. With a quick,sporadic movements the Plesioth rushed towards the mare. With a quick  tumble she gets out of the way. Quickly she reloads her gun.

"Come on, come on," Lulu was absolutely panicking, it took a long time to load a small hoof sized pistol,shes almost done, SMACK. She was hit with a water jet from the monster, she was knocked over she stumbled back up, but just as she got up the monster rammed her back down. At this point she was running low on energy to tumble or run. With a caution she looked around and saw the monster was drooling, a sign a monster is tired. She smiled and took out her pistol and started shooting but this time towards the face. Lulu watched the monsters reaction very carefully, then with a brighter glow of her horn, enchanted some of her bullets to become thunder bullets. She keeps shooting at the Plesioth who is just sitting there, almost completely exhausted. Then without any warning the Plesioth gave a large, ear shattering roar. Lulu flinched, pulling her ears back. She winces and sits there for a bit. When she looks up Lulu gets hit by the Plesioth's water stream. She lays there for a bit, almost unconscious. The monster slowly approaches the almost unconscious mare, she lays in the dry dirt trying to stay awake.The monster is now towering over the mare with a soft glow of her horn the unicorn levitates the gun and, BAM! A direct hit to the neck, the monster falls back a little, with great haste the mare gets up and starts shooting repeatedly at the monsters. with every shot the monster slowly backs up, after about a dozen shots the monster slowly collapsed to the ground.Lulu stares for a moment the reloads her gun just in case.She slowly approaches the monster. With a quick swoosh the Plesioth gets up, Lulu backs up and gets in a attack position. Right when shes about to attack the monster shots a fast stream of water at her. But of course she didn't have enough time to dodge and got hit in the leg with great force. Her leg at this point was broken, with a great wince and a small cry Lulu tumbled to the ground. With that that was the last straw, With a great amount of magic Lulu enchanted a "special" bullet. With great speed she loaded her gun and got ready to fire, at this point the monster was charging at her. Bang the bullet fires from the gun, when it hit the Plesioth a large explosion went off. A longtime passes waiting for the smoke to clear, after half a minute the monster goes up in the air and fly's off. Lulu tried to chase after it but before she took even two steps she fell over her broken leg. with a pained look she looked at the monster flying off. As Lulu got up and limped towards town she talked to her self.

"How am I going to explain this to the town, the filly, or the mayor. How could I have failed at doing my special talent" she talked to herself like that until she was on the borders of the town, but she kept on limping till she got to the mayors office. She limped through the door and towards the door at the end of the hall. With a deep breath, and the glow of a horn Lulu opened the door.  She swings the door open but before she says a thing, a quick glance at the mayor makes her completely speechless.
