Through The Storm
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext Chapter'Well. . . there re better ways to die. . .' you think to yourself as you see a twister headed towards your town. There are very little storms this sever where you live and your house was not storm proof. it wasn't large enough to be a tornado, but it would do some damage, and take a couple lives due to the debris. You weren't sure if you would die, but you were certainly scared, and you weren't the most optimistic of people.
The storm is getting closer, and you can see some more details of its great size compared to most bad storms. There is gold and what almost looks like a blue colors flashing in the storm. This was odd, lightning as usually white, or purple depending on circumstance, but never this gold or dark blue hues. Only more reason to be scared. it takes about fifth teen minutes for the storm to reach your area. You can now really see how massive it is, and you can see all the branches and stone flying in the air. If you had to guess, the wind s moving by at least 90 mph.
You run inside to flee the vicious whirlwinds from outside, as they howl and shriek like bloody murder. Your house creaks and groans from the amount of wind pressure that is being brought down upon it. you hear your window break, as rain and debris from the storm comes crashing in. Shortly after, more windows break, resulting in more rain and damage. You look outside one of the broken windows from a distance, and the clouds are now near pitch black, and the lightning is flashing dangerously close to the ground. Any sense of hope or safety has just been ripped from your psyche, only replaced by mortal fear and concern. Luckily/unluckily, you didn't have any pets or family close by, so you didn't have to worry about them.
The winds are now deafening, as their wails are now starting to become full blown as the storm approaches. The storm was on a direct collision path for your house, and every second was agonizingly long. You kind of wanted it to speed up, like mercy killing, for it to just kill you and take all the dread and fear away. But that wasn't the case, it just took it sweet time getting to you. Not that it had a choice about it but you were kind of starting to think irrationally. You see the twister is no more than 300 yards away, it too being near black. you were never a very religious person, but you were praying to anything and everything out there for your safety, as well as those others affected by the storm. 150 yards away now, and doubt of survival is welling up in you, as you stat to silently cry, thinking of all the things you will never get to do, all the friends you will never make, and all the loves of the world you will never get to feel. 50 yards away, you hear the lightning crack, and it blows your eardrums out, the booms of the storm, accompanied with the winds almost sounds like music, like a last symphony you will experience before you enter the sweet embrace of death. For some odd reason, it makes you feel calm, like this was meant to happen, and that everything will be a-ok, but in the back of your mind you know it isn't the case.
Its here now, and you are practically looking up at it, like a scared child looking up at their angry father. The lightning picks up, and it nearly illuminates the sky in a purposely frightening way, and you flinch at the sight of it. It wouldn't look out of place in a fantasia film. you just continue looking into it, not knowing anything else to do, you were lost in your own mind, and you didn't know your way back out. The lightning cracks again, hitting the ground and for whatever reason, sends a shower of multicolored sparks everywhere. you were hypnotized, like an angler fish drawing prey in with its lantern. The lightning hits the ground again, getting closer, and showering more sparks out. As the seconds go on, more lightning hits the ground, and more sparks are scattered, each strike looking more dazzling than the last. The last thing you see is a flash of dark blue light and gold.
