Zompony Apocalypse (Left 4 Dead cross-over)

"What is that thing?" Rainbow Dash whispered. "And why is it's foreleg so big?"

"I've heard reports of the infected mutating into things worse, this one is so called a Charger, it will charge at somepony at break-neck speeds then pummel them to death." Twilight replied. "I've even heard that they are becoming immune to magic, it's getting worse and there's no sign of it stopping." Twilight walked over to Fluttershy to see how she is holding up. Since the infection broke out, Fluttershy has changed but Twilight just can't to seem to put her hoof on it, she expected her friend to want to try to help the infected but she seems to do the exact opposite and as much help it has been, it has really been starting to worry Twilight that she might be drifting away from her element. Twilight's train of thought was stopped by a hair raising scream. Twilight instantly knew what it was and ran to the window to see the so called "charger" to be slamming a poor pony to the ground.

"We gotta help 'er!" Applejack shouted in a whisper.

"As bad as this may sound girls, unless we kill that thing, it's not going to release her." Twilight whispered back. "There isn't much we can do without weapons and since they're immune to magic..." As soon as Twilight stopped speaking, she looked over to Fluttershy, the look on her face was unreadable. She had expected her yellow friend to look sad or something along those lines, but nothing. Twilight was starting to get really worried about her friends but she doesn't know if her friends have noticed either. "One outbreak and the whole of Equestria wreaks havoc..."

"Hey, Twilight have you heard from any of the Princesses?" Pinkie asked.

"Shhhh!" everypony whispered.

"Pinkie, you'll get us caught- nevermind, too late." Rarity said to Pinkie. Faster than anypony could blink, the infected started pounding on the door, and it isn't going to hold for long. "Sugarcube corner isn't a safe place to be ladies, we better off get to the castle, we've gathered enough food."

"Sure thing Rarity" Twilight nodded. In a flash, the six ponies we're back at Twilight's castle.

"You could of warned us-" Rainbow Dash moaned.

"Girls, you're back!" Starlight sung. "Spike's still asleep."

"Thanks for looking after him Starlight, there are some bad news about the infected, they're mutating." Twilight said. Everypony but Twilight and Starlight walked out, it was getting pretty late and they were all tired.

"What do you mean?" Starlight replied.

"You see, lets refer the infected as common infected, there are other types of infected too. They're called special infected, I can go through them if you like?" Twilight asked.

"I have time." Starlight insisted.

"Okay," Twilight replied picking up a scroll with her magic."Firstly there are these known as Hunters, these are pretty bad, they can jump un-pony-like distances and when they land on you they will shred you up. They'll keep doing this to the point it's so painful you can't feel pain anymore if you catch my drift. Secondly there are these ones called Chargers, these are pretty bad too, they have a massive foreleg which they will run at you with break-neck speeds until it hits something. It will then smash you into the ground repeatably until once again, you're dead."

Starlights face was now a light shade of green and was trying not to throw up. "They seem like a nasty bunch."

"Oh there's more, at least that's what Princess Celestia said. I think she said she'll send me another letter tomorrow about the others." Twilight said.

"Can't wait." Starlight replied. "Anyway I'm off to bed, see you tomorrow."

"You too." Twilight smiled. Starlight smiled back and headed off.

"Spike, take a letter please." Twilight said.

"Of course Twilight." Spike replied getting a quill and a piece of paper.

"Dear Princess Celestia, I am writing to you to ask you about something. I have put a lot of thought into it and I think we should contact Sunset Shimmer and my Canterlot High friends about this matter since they could help. We could use help from them since they don't rely on magic and the infected have grown immune to magic. I'm going to keep this short. From Twilight Sparkle."

"You want me to send it now?" Spike asked.

"Of course Spike." Twilight replied. In a blur of green fire, the letter was gone.

"You really think that it's a good idea to get Sunset to help us?" Spike asked Twilight.

"Considering that she is good without magic, yes." Twilight replied. With that, Spike burped up a letter.

"That was quick." Spike muttered. "Dear Twilight, I think that this could be a good idea, but it's truly up to you, if you think it's what should be done, go ahead. I must stay in Canterlot where it's safe, I can't risk getting infected. From Celestia. P.S You don't need to be so formal Twilight, you're a Princess too after all."

"Well I better get writing to Sunset then." Twilight said quickly and before Spike could answer, she disappeared in a flash.

Dear Sunset Shimmer,

Something awful has happened in Equestria and I won't talk about it too much here but if you could come over I'd appreciate it, you see I need your help. Equestria is in havoc, almost all of the residents in Ponyville are 'gone' and the same is with all of Equestria.

Before Twilight could close the book, text appeared on the page to the right saying:

Of course Twilight. I'll be there in a couple of minutes.

Smiling to herself, Twilight closed the book and headed to the kitchen and made herself a sandwich. After she got back to the Throne room, she opened up the portal and stuck her head through. "Sunset, you here?"

"Right here." Sunset shouted over whilst jogging over to the statue.

"Come on in."
