Learning The Truth

"Hey Kasper, throw it to me!" yelled my brother Solar

"No way shrimp, he's got this on the bag!" yelled my other brother Flare

"I got this one on the run guys!" I yelled back

We were in the castle courtyard playing football again while mom and Aunt Luna watched us from the porch. It's been 18 years since we've been in the castle. Mainly because we were born here and only go outside the castle walls when Aunt Luna says that the coast is clear. By that, I mean when mom is asleep and she puts a spell on her so she's in a really deep sleep. When we do go out we like to fly around the town and just race each other until Aunt Luna calls is back.

Wait a sec..... where are my manners...., mom would kill me if she knew that I wasn't being polite. My name is Kasper Outland Blaze. The two that I'm playing football with are my twin brothers, Solaris Zeus Blaze and Flareinight Jupiter Blaze. We are the triplet sons of the one and only Princess Celestia. We were born on the 15th of September of 2020 at two o'clock in the morning. When we were 3, we found out that we could shape-shift. Mom said it was because of our father that we could do this little act of difference. Plus she said that we have holes in us because of our father wasn't a usual person, he was one of the most caring and lovable person she knew. When ever mom talks about dad, she gets this sad glimmer on her eyes as if she was going to cry. My brothers and I wasn't always sure on how to handle the situation when she did cry. She would always go to her room and lock herself in and cry to sleep. I remember a time where I teleported into her room and saw her crying her eyes out all while clutching a picture of her and dad. At that instant I ran to her and held her in my arms. She said that we reminded her so much of him. I am his happiness, Solar was his quiet and calculations, and Flare was his rage and anger when someone threatened him, mom, or us. Anyways, on with the story.

Today is our birthday and today we wanted to know what exactly happened to our father.

"Alright guys, huddle up!" I yelled after I managed to score a goal

"Awwww yeah time to plan!" Flare yelled as he ran towards me

"Flare...... shut up or mom will catch on" Solar hissed at him while glaring daggers at him

"Okay okay..... break it up guys. We have more important things to worry about." I whispered to them when they were close enough "Today we're going to finally find out what happened to dad and why mom is always so sad when she talks about him."

"Are you sure she'll be able to handel the pressure?"

"Yeah. I mean the last time we mentioned dad was when we were ten and that was when you ran after her and held her until she fell asleep." said Flare

"I know but we have the right to know what happened." I told them.

"Hey mom?" I asked as we were sitting at the dinner table.

"Yes Kasper? Is there something wrong with your steak? she asked

"No no. The steak is amazing, right guys?" I asked my brothers

"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" was the only thing that Flare said.

"He means yes Kas" said Solar as he ate gracefully while Flare attacked his steak like a cheetah on a zebra.

"Then what's the matter? You look like something is bothering you" she said with a frown

"It's.....well....What happened to dad?" I said quickly

Aunt Luna spat out the wine she was drinking while mom looked at us confused. It took her a while to understand what I just said. When her mind caught up to her ears, she looked down at her plate. I could have sworn that I saw the glimmer  of a tear in the corner of her eye. Solar and Flare looked up at her while we all waited for an answer.

"I was afraid this day would come and prayed that it never did." she stated sadly

"Tia, they have the right to know. Its been 25 years since Ball...." Aunt Luna said as her voice trailed off.

I know, Iknow." mom said with a sigh. "Boys, follow me. It's about time you three learned about your father, Fireball."
